Skerry Waters [Wren]

The turn was coming up and Sitara’s fingers gripped tightly onto the wheel. The GPS was in her peripheral vision. A curve was coming up and Sitara made sure to turn quickly. Luckily the road was wide enough for her to make her turn without adjusting her speed. Wren was trailing quickly behind her, and if she didn’t increase her speed Wren would totally catch up to her. Sitara didn’t like losing and with Wren’s need for adventure, she was sure Wren didn’t like it either.

Come and get me!

She screamed the words and laughed as the wind rushed into her hair. Her feet were still slammed onto the gas; and for an instance she was afraid to crash into a rock or something. The rush was too thrilling for her to stop.

[member="Sitara Qin"]

"i'm planning on it cupcake" Wren inched over towards the inside of the curve if Tar kept on her current path, she could slip in and at least make them even again and hopefully not crash.

Wren's heart thundered as adrenaline shot through her system making her feel invincible her feet working in tandem to make sure she shifted when she needed to in order to slow, or increase speed. Her hair whipped around like snakes on fire. Her eyes were narrowed down to help her see through the sand and dust that was kicking up around them.

"Here I come!!!" Wren floored it, the buggy roared and come up neck and neck as they went through the curve...she looked over and winked at Tara...

Wren sped up from the inside of the curve. Sitara’s hands gripped the steering wheel tightly, her foot still slammed on the gas. It was all fun and games until someone got hurt, she thought; and at the speed they were going it was hard to believe that one of them didn’t get thrown over yet.

Wren’s blonde hair wooshed past her.

The roar of her engine only made Sitara want to move faster. God, how she hated losing. If this was a race, she might as well make it more exciting. Her eyes narrowed and she clenched her jaw, upset that she was slightly behind the blonde girl.

Why you little…

She was glad they were doing this at the beach. Anywhere else would cause for chaos and disarray. But that’s where all the fun was, right?

Competition was an ugly friend at times it pushed you beyond your limits and had the ability to take your dignity and pride all at once. Wren looked at the GPS there was a left hand turn ahead leading to the cave. Would they continue to race?

Most likely it was fun Wren looked back at Tara making sure she was still with her and that she was ok. This was turning out to be a hell of a day and Tara had made it all worth while. They seem to have things in common but something kept nagging at her and she was having too much fun to try and figure it out. She knew she would have to slow to make the left she knew Tara would likely go side and go around her.

"Hey do you have bugs in your teeth yet???" She teased her new found friend.

Not as many as you do!” She barked back, a high pitched squeal escaping her lips as they zoomed away. The cave was approaching them and Sitara was excited. There was a sharp left turn they had to take and they moved quickly. The road was bumpy beneath her metal chariot and she was neck and neck beside the blonde lady.

Her buggy game to an abrupt halt, throwing her head slightly forward then back as she came to the mouth of the cave. She laughed after hitting her brakes; it was the most fun she had today though the fun had only just begun.

From the entrance, she could see interesting formations within the cave, though the rest was simply black to her. She squinted her eyes, and pressed her fingers against her forehead as though she was looking forward.

It sure is dark in there.”

Wren spun around and stopped just a few feet from [member="Sitara Qin"] she looked at the entrance to the cave, "this is just the entrance, the jump point is inside, and it will look like a big dark deep hole in the ground with tiny pin points at the bottom." Serena slid out of the buggy and ran over to Sitara, "That was amazing! we need to race back but first, let's jump and explore"

Wren all excited was walking backwards to her buggy, "So grab your chute, and the yellow back pack with the other gear it is time!" Now what was it time for all it would take would be a single step off and down into the dark Wren could hardly wait she tried to remember the last place the last time that she had, she wished she could remember it clearly. Gods it must have been exciting.

"Who knows what waits for us at the bottom" The guide book said treasures untold but whoever wrote the guidebook might now know what she or Tara considered a treasure.

Tiny pin points at the bottom. Gotcha.” Wren was obviously experienced, far more knowledgeable than Sitara in this aspect. While Sitara was adventurous, she certainly hadn’t done anything as cool as this. She held in a deep breath and peered into the cave once more before following Wren back to the buggies.

Perhaps she was a little bit scared of the things that awaited them, but it was always part of a fist timer’s experience. She grabbed her equipment, slinging the yellow backpack over her shoulder. It was pretty heavy because of the things it contained, but it wasn’t too bad.

Hopefully they have those hot guys down there with smoothies.” She laughed. Spiked smoothies. That wasn’t too bad a treasure. Or maybe it was some cool credit chip with unlimited money. Now that was a real treasure. She gave Wren a grin as they stepped towards the mouth of the cave. Black and eerie. Wonderful.

So we just keep walking till we find the hole to jump in?

[member="Serena Bouie"]

"It should be right up ahead, there should be an attendant after all this is on the tourist map and it wouldn't do to have young women jumping off the deep end without someone knowing they are going in" Wren turned an looked at Tara.

Wren smiled, "Hot guys, smoothies, and....I don't know...something that you can do with hot guys" She shook her head, she had some fear the first time going into anything that was new the anticipation was enough to take your fear and feed it to you.

Wren reached over and grabbed the arm of her new found friend, keeping her close, "caves are the portal to another world, look up and you see formations some of them hundreds of years old, and as we go deeper in you'll see formations that come from the cave bottom, it all tells a story Tara." They took the first few steps inside the temperature changed it was cooler, and without a sky the cave ceiling became the compass.

"Look over there, see that light, that's our jump point" Now some of the caves that Wren jumped into the openings were outside you jumped from a point on the ground this was a little different, the access cave was short, but what wait beneath..now that..was the wonder to behold.

[member="Sitara Qin"]

The cave was a beautiful shell of wonders and it swallowed them beneath it. She looked up at the roof; rocks formed sickles looked as though they were ready to drip onto their heads. There was a lot of history that went into the creation of this literal cave of wonders. Her hands traced over the rocky formations, feeling each and every little crevice beneath her fingers.

She shuddered as they walked over towards the jumping point. She couldn’t see where the darkness ended. What would wait for them at the end of this jump? Treasures was such a vague word to describe what mysteries awaited them. She rubbed her hands together and felt the parachute strapped to her back.

Definitely something she’d do again if she survived the first round.

She looked over at Wren, her newfound friend, and grinned. “You wanna go first? Show the beginner how it’s done?

[member="Serena Bouie"]

Wren smiled, "well I was thinking of just pushing you off" she then laughed, "but you could get hurt badly and I don't' want that. So, you first so that I can follow you down."

Wren looked Tara over making sure she was secure in her harness, that the pull was readily available. "Now this isn't like sky diving where you have miles of space between you and the ground, at most the ground here is a mile away but at the speed you travel it will go quick.." Ok..Tara looked good.

"When the chute opens it will pull you back up, and that's ok. So you will jump belly first, not your feet you'll count off 5 seconds, and pull. There are pulls on either side to help you guide yourself to the clearing below, which you will see it is marked."

Wren was adjusting her own gear while she spoke, "now you will see Stalactites they hang from the ceiling and below you will see stalagmites which come up from the ground. They are very common in caves. The rest we will discover as we look around."

Wren looked at Tara was she ready, "Ok, ready to go?"

She watched Tara's face was she really ready?

@Satara Qin

Pushing her off? She would totally deserve that considering what she did to that poor girl earlier in the day. Sitara flashed Wren a nervous smile before nodding. She peered down at what appeared to be an endless void of nothing. The only thing that protected her was a parachute, and even so she wasn’t certain that was going to keep her safe from plunging to her death. Could’ve been worse though right? She could’ve died with a group of people watching her. At least it was just Wren.

The ground was at most a mile away. That seemed comforting. A mile didn’t seem like too short a distance, but with gravity, it probably was a lot shorter than she thought. Wren wanted her to go first for some reason, and she wasn’t really ready. But hey, she didn’t want to eat her words.

Okay, I’m going to jump.

The declaration was bold and she stood at the edge of the hole. She had the straps of her parachute in clasped tightly beneath her fingers. She took a few deep breaths and closed her eyes. She lowered her position so that she’d be able to jump belly first into the hole. She opened her eyes before flinging her body into the opening.

1 Mississipi.

The first second was like a rush in her mind. She could feel the skin around her jiggling and the straps of her bikini flapping in the air. Her blue-grey eyes felt a burst of wind blowing past them as she began to plummet down.

2 Mississipi.

It was dark around her. From where she looked there wasn’t much for her to see. She could make out the small rough bumps along the caves and little crevices where various animals began nesting their homes. Tiny pieces of sparkling rocks dazzled at her.

3 Mississipi.

Or perhaps they were just glow worms. Sitara couldn’t begin to express her fear at moving down. What if she counted too late and she ended up becoming a pancake at the bottom of this cave. Nobody would see her again and she’d miss Coruscant and all her little sith friends. She screamed as she fell.

4 Mississipi.

A single second away until she had to release her parachute. It was the last second of free falling, of potential death if she did things wrong. Yet at this point, she felt freedom touching her pale skin as she dove to the ground. She closed her eyes and pulled on the strings.

5 Mississipi.

The parachute opened and she was yanked up for a moment before she started to float down. A flutter of giggles escaped her mouth and she squealed from delight. She could feel the soft wind against her thighs and arms. She felt like she was dancing on air and she could almost make out the ground.

Her feet landed on the ground and the parachute deflated behind her. She looked up at the opening with light and yelled for Wren. “That was amazing!” She screamed at the top of her lungs.

Wren up until the moment Tara jumped did not think she would do it, she looked down into the darkness hoping to catch site of her, waiting. Silently Wren counted off, each time she held her breath. Waiting.
Waiting.

The chute would open on time right Tara don’t forget to pull…on five..everyone can count to five…come on…come on..

Then in the darkness she saw the chute Wren breathed. It was her turn.

Wren put her back to the access point crossing her arms she pushed off and fell. She could feel the wind pushing her hair she was counting 1 misss 2 misss

Wren rolled over oh god this was great!!!!! It was dark and left everything to the imagination as she fell. She could smell the cave, the stone the cold. She could feel it as it began to envelope her. 3misss 4miss

5 miss PULLLLLLLL

Jerked up and then slowly floating downwards Wren could see the reflection of light, there was a pool off to the right, and then she could see the luminaries along the paths of the cave, the stones sparkled under the light.

Pulling her feet up as she came in she waiting and then began running as she landed turning quickly her chute upon a button push collected and packed. Wren looked at Tara.

“So….from the sounds of things…you might like this” She laughed, “Come on there’s a pool over here let’s look…” She stopped, “You are ok right?”

She was still a little wobbly from that drop, and was freshly intoxicated with an adrenaline rush. She was pumped up. Very, very pumped up. Her knuckles were tight from tugging on the parachute too tightly. She was a little jittery as well. It was a long fall, though took shorter than she’d imagine it too. If she pulled on the chute too late, well…she’d probably be nothing more than a sith pancake and serve as a landing ground for Wren to jump on.

I think I do.” She said with a nervous laugh. “Like this I mean. It was fun. I’m still a little bit shaken.

She was honest, at the very least. Did Wren mention a pool? “Don’t worry about me. Let’s just head to the pool.” She was glad the scenery down here was just as lovely. As for that treasure…when were they going to get to it? Sitara could definitely use a nice fruit shake as she lingered around in the fresh underground water.

The last time she went swimming in some natural cove, she was with Xander. It was a fun experience, for the both of them. There was even a waterfall there. This though, was underground and no doubt there'd be some very interesting sights to see on their way there. She'd never been underground in a cave either.

Yes Jell-O legs would be quite common after such a rush to the head and the heart. Wren nodded, “maybe we should sit for a minute. I love doing this”

Wren watched just in case Tara were to get sick, “I get too excited and forget that others aren’t always as balanced, or use it as I am” Half of Wren’s face smiled as she looked at Tara. “We can walk slowly, and when we get there, we will sit on the edge if possible.” They walked casually over what looked like a well-trod path.

This was a quiet place almost holy it seemed by the silence. The air was chilled as all caves often were. As they neared the location by the pool, little signs showing the way and making up stories of monsters to scare anyone who would believe it.

Tara seemed far away for a moment, “you ok, you….are….” her eyes closed for a moment, “thinking of someone….someone special it seems” She tilted her head, “boyfriend?”

Wren didn’t know too many people who had…..boyfriends.

[member="Sitara Qin"]

Her eyes met Wren’s, silently thanking her for her offer to sit. Sitara was usually much too proud to show weakness. As they moved along, Sitara’s eyes scanned the place for something that looked comfortable, like a dull rock since there probably won’t be any chairs lurking about. “I find the feeling of falling enjoyable, though somehow landing is…strange.” Yup, she was fairly wobbly still. Her fingers started pressing the palm of her hand just to get the blood circulating again.

All these rocks looked uncomfortable, perhaps the edge was the best choice.

This place was eerily quiet, the only sounds being the two of them trudging on in the dully illuminated cave. She moved along, her feet sinking in the soft ground as they were closer and closer to the pool. Apparently there were monsters in this cave. Sitara rolled her eyes at the sound of it. What did they think they were, children?

Boyfriend?” She laughed. Tara didn’t like commitment. She considered herself to be too much of a free bird to be committed to anyone. Even if that anyone was a hot king. She shuddered at the thought and looked away. “He isn’t my boyfriend. But he is someone I care about. It’s strange.” Of course there was Ali, but their relationship was very…different. Sitara didn’t feel romantic emotions for her. Just the emotions that wanted her to be in control of the other woman.

It scared her.

As she saw the pool, she looked at Wren and smiled. “Enough about that. What about you? Do you have that one special person in your life?

[member="Serena Bouie"]

Wren followed along as they walked but still she was close to Tara. “It’s an odd feeling falling, no control really until the chute opens then it’s all enjoyment. It’s hard for people who have control to admit when there isn’t any, least that’s what I think”

“A boyfriend” she gave a little laugh, one of disbelief while Tara talked about the man she cared about Wren wondered, did someone care about her.

She smiled at Tara, “Having lost my memory after the rapture I can’t tell you if there was anyone before that, but after well, not yet.” Now she laughed from discomfort. “Guy says so, where you from and you go, I don’t know. Makes conversation difficult to you know…find someone”

She couldn’t in good conscience commit to anyone without having some memory of herself, but she had to admit if someone did come along, the right someone, she’d do everything to keep him.

Wren looked at the pool now, “look, see that” Just beneath the surface bioluminescent at work, whatever creatures were in there glowed. “I don’t think we will be swimming in there, it could upset the balance, and eventually they’d stop glowing” Wren was content to look though, watching as they played beneath the water.

“I sure would like to find someone special though” she said it out loud. She looked at Tara, “one day “ she shrugged her shoulders and smiled.

“Let’s rest a bit longer then we can wander a bit see what all is here” There was something nagging at the back of her neck like something pulling her somewhere. She had learned in the last year to go with it.

[member="Sitara Qin"]

Did you lose your memory from cave jumping?” Tara blurted out the question because she was honestly curious. She wasn’t trying to be tactless, she just wanted to know since Wren enjoyed the sport so much and she talked about raptures. Sitara nodded as Wren talked to her about guys. She understood. As much as Sitara wanted to have someone she could come home to, the thought scared her at the same time. “Yeah…” She agreed. It was hard for her to find someone she could keep.

Wren pointed to the pool, and Sitara squinted as though to check to see what was happening. “The balance?” She was confused as what the balance was. It was probably more nature related than force related, but if Wren said don’t go into the water, she wasn’t going to. She nodded. “Okay. I’ll take your word for it.” She smiled, content with looking at the bioluminescent creatures that made the water glow.

Wren’s words cut through the peaceful silence. However, the contents of her words made Tara smile. She patted Wren on the shoulder. “Hey, you’re a pretty girl and you’re fun. I’m sure you’ll meet the right guy one day.” She winked. “And if you do, you ought to invite me to your wedding!” She giggled. She could see herself as a bridesmaid.

She leaned against her newfound friend. She was glad experiences like this brought her closer to people. “I agree.” She said. “Though I am curious as to just what the treasure is!

[member="Serena Bouie"]

“No, I” She thought about it for a minute, “Not real sure how, I woke up on a planet that I didn’t recognize, with people I didn’t know and the only thing I could remember was my name was Wren” She half laughed then, “I’m not even sure that’s a real name”

She looked over at Tara someone to keep, was there someone out there to keep? Maybe, just maybe.

Wren nodded, “Yeah it’s odd but sometimes I just know stuff, and today it’s stuff about the Ph balance in the pool, if we add in all the oils from our own skin it will upset the balance.” She made a face just then. She was glad that Tara took her word for it they’d take on the beach again.

She nodded when Tara said there was someone out there, “Thanks” Wren laughed out loud now the sound echoed slightly back at them, “Wedding, well then when you get married you have to call me to come”

Wren leaned on Tara now greatful for the friend, and the comfort, “I don’t know it’s just out there.” She kept smiling, “Treasures come with cost sometimes so..we have to be careful.”

She looked over to another path that was across from them, “I wish I could tell you, warn you, or prepare you..but I just…well…feel it” She giggled again.

“How’s your legs feeling?”

[member="Sitara Qin"]

Wren. Well, it’s a pretty name nonetheless.” Sitara remarked with a smile. It was sad that the blonde lost her memories, though maybe there was a good reason for that. Maybe it was better that she did forget the past, something bad could’ve happened. Sitara tried to be optimistic about it, but something told her it was better to cope with the pain of the past, as it made you stronger. “Names don’t define you anyways.

Are you calling me oily?” She giggled. When the blonde talked about weddings, Sitara bit her lips. How many Sith did she know who was in a thriving, flourishing marriage? Heck, how many people have those nowadays. “If that’s actually a possibility, you’d be the first to know. Well, except for me and whoever I end up with, anyways.” She grinned.

Well, if it’s a big scary monster instead of a hot guy, I’m sure the both of us can take it on.” Just cause they were both girls didn’t mean they were useless. Heck, Sitara was sure Wren was a lot tougher than she looked. Sitara knew that she was a lot tougher than she looked. It was how she got this far anyways, down a cave with a stranger. “Thanks for warning me, but I’m sure whatever it is…It’s going to need that warning. Cause here we come!

She patted my legs. “They’re alright. Shall we get going and see what’s in store for us?

[member="Serena Bouie"]

[member="Sitara Qin"]
“I like it” she said when Tara said Wren was a pretty name “Thanks, and I agree names aren’t everything what we do is what people should use to tell whether a person is good or not, but eh.”

Wren laughed, “No..well we are our skin has all kinds of things” She shook her head, “You’d be surprised about the mites and things” She sat quiet though still listening to Tara.

“First to know, nice” Wren wasn’t really worried about having someone anymore well not too much, maybe a little.

“I’m not up for a monster, hot guy who wants to rub my feet, make me breakfast, that I could go for”

They were off walking along a tad slow as they looked around Wren was looking up, “it would only take one to fall on me, but I’m thinking they check them out to make sure they’re stable” They should anyhow.

The path was making a turn now as they turned the path split one sign said cathedral, the other said minerals. Wren looked she wanted to do both, “Tara which would you like to see?”
