Sitara Qin
One Hot Mess
"Jump. Jump. Jump. Jump. Jump." The others chanted, their arms moving up and down, trying to coax the obviously frightened teenage girl into leaping off of the cliff and into the rocky waves below.
Sitara rolled her eyes as she watched them, wondering why she was hanging out with idiots who jumped off cliffs in the name of proving a point. It was a random group of people who bundled up together. There had been a random bet in the middle of the golden beach, causing a bunch of people to riot together and head up to one of the tallest cliffs in the area. Tara always liked tagging along interesting groups of people. They offered her a wine cooler and she hiked with them to the top of the mountain. She looked at the scared girl, her green doe eyes staring down at the ocean miles below her.
Tara wished someone would push her off already. She couldn't stand the girl's fickleness; the girl was simply standing there, hopping up and down telling people she was going to do it. She walked over to the edge of the cliff for the ninth time acting as though she was going to jump. Then the second she took a step forward, she'd turn pale and then back out; the people surrounding her pressuring her to jump yet again. If she jumped, she'd be fifty credits richer and look less pathetic than she was now. Sitara stretched her long legs before getting up, her ponytail bobbing behind her as she did.
She felt the golden sand stick to her skin as she walked barefoot over to the girl, the people parting to give her room. She crossed her arms over her chest, her bikini top patterned with white fish making her look less serious than she was now. She stood there for a few seconds, waiting for something to happened. It was there when she lost her patience. She stepped over to where the smaller girl was standing, and with a finger and a little help from the force, she pushed the girl over the cliff; her lithe body plummeting into the deep waters below. "Oops."
The people were silent for a moment before cheering. She rolled her eyes, a little annoyed by their juvenile reactions. She shook her head and sighed, before speaking nonchalantly. "Does anyone else want to jump in?"
