KNIGHT KASSIM
- BACKGROUND
-
As a kid, Kassim bullied other street children, stole from market stalls, and learned how to slip through crowds without being noticed. He wasn't cruel for fun, but because he thought that was the only way to live. Every day was a fight for food, credits, or a safe place to sleep. Everything changed when he tried to steal from the wrong person.
A visiting Sith Lord caught him in the act. Instead of killing him, the Sith saw potential in the angry, hungry boy who refused to beg for mercy. Kassim was taken to the Sith Academies and thrown into a world far harsher than the streets. He struggled at first. Other acolytes had training, discipline, and pride. Kassim had none of that. But he had something they didn't, the instinct to survive at any cost.
He used every dirty trick he knew, every selfish impulse, every scrap of anger he carried from childhood. Slowly, he climbed the ranks. By the time he earned the title of Sith Knight, Kassim had become known for his raw, unpredictable fighting style and his ability to outlast opponents who were stronger or more skilled. He learned to channel his selfishness into the dark side, turning his hunger for survival into power.
- PERSONALITY
-
Even though he acts tough, Kassim isn't cold. He understands fear and hunger better than most Sith, and sometimes he helps people who remind him of the kid he used to be. He'll never admit it out loud, but he hates seeing someone get crushed by the same kind of life he escaped. He hides that softer side behind sarcasm, anger, or a quick exit.
Kassim enjoys fighting because it's simple. No lies, no tricks, just survival. But outside combat, he's still figuring out who he is. The Sith gave him power, but not purpose. He knows how to survive, but he doesn't know what he wants beyond that. Some days he wonders if he's meant to be more than a weapon. Other days he shuts that thought down before it can grow.

STRENGTHS
Survivor's Instinct — Kassim is extremely difficult to kill because he refuses to accept that a fight is over until he is dead. He will use the environment, deception, dirty tricks, and unexpected Force abilities to stay alive. He is at his most dangerous when he has been pushed into a corner.
Reads People Well — Kassim grew up around criminals, liars, smugglers, and thieves. He learned to watch body language because believing someone's words could get him hurt. He can usually recognize fear, greed, arrogance, and desperation quickly. This makes him excellent at intimidation and manipulation.
Adaptive Fighter — Kassim does not believe in fighting fairly. If a duel stops going his way, he changes tactics. He might retreat, attack someone's legs, throw an object with the Force, use a hidden weapon, or provoke his opponent into making a mistake. He has no pride about winning ugly.
WEAKNESSES
Fear of Helplessness — Kassim can handle pain, danger, and even the possibility of death better than he can handle losing control. Being restrained, imprisoned, disarmed, or forced to depend on another person can cause him to panic. He may make terrible decisions simply to regain control of a situation.
Trust Issues — Kassim assumes that everyone has an angle. Even honest kindness can make him suspicious. This prevents him from forming healthy relationships and can cause him to betray people who never intended to betray him.
Selfishness Taken Too Far — Kassim has spent his entire life treating survival as the most important thing in the galaxy. When frightened, he can abandon allies, steal from people who trusted him, or sacrifice someone else to save himself. Afterwards, he may feel guilty, but guilt does not always stop him from repeating the mistake.

THE GALAXY AT LARGENameDescription
The dry heat of Jaguada came down very harshly on Kassim as he stared down into the pit at the five men he had selected from the transport. His fingers curled inside his gloves as above him the overall station was long abandoned as the Sith Warfleet entered into hyperspace to reinforce the invasion of the Republic.
He had been left behind as his master insisted he wasn't ready for Jedi, he spat into the dirt at such a notion. Moving his foot to kick a heavy crate filled with confiscated vibroblades over the edge, the box coming apart upon hitting the floor. Inside weapons of all shapes and sizes as a prisoner's glance from the weapons to their current captor.
No explanation was needed as the unfastened both hilts from his belt, igniting the crimson blades and entering into a Jar'Kai stance. He was most comfortable with this form giving his extensive training in it and it would serve him well as he gestured for them to to come forward with two fingers.
As he jumped down into the ring, a Zabrak with a partially missing ear came at him with a dagger shaped blade. The other four quickly spreading out to attack from every direction in order to even their chances of emerging alive.
The Zabrak charged with his weapon raised, but Kassim thrust his left saber forward, halting the red tip just inches from the man's throat. His opponent came to an abrupt stop to avoid impaling himself though he simply drove the blade straight through the man's chest by stepping forward. The body fell to the ground so it did not satisfy his lust for violence as he turned to confront the others.
