STRENGTHS
  • The Swiftest Serpent: At least among ground vehicles, the Vexis is the absolute peak of speed. Featuring a scaled-down and heavily modified variant of the sort of sublight drive normally found in starfighters, this utterly ridiculous bike can beat - almost - any other in a land speed race.
  • Razor Fangs: The Vexis is a superb and terrifying weapon. Its efficacy against humanoid infantry should be obvious (even a Mandalorian in full beskar'gam is likely to suffer damage due to the impact speed), but where it really shines is against large targets. Even without the plasma edge, a Vexis's blade could carve through a rancor with easy, and a team of two to three Vexis riders could decimate an enemy tank. See Biting the Krayt, below, for information on the risks associated with targeting heavy armor, however.
  • Hardened Scales: Every inch of the Vexis's external body is plated with phrik. While the craft provides no protection to its rider, the thing itself is incredibly difficult to destroy.

WEAKNESSES
  • Precious Venom: The Vexis's plasma filament edge, while impressive and exceptionally deadly, has its shortcomings. Given the coverage required, and without the benefit of integrated lightsaber technology (this option was deemed redundant and overly expensive, given the group the Vexis was designed for) the plasma generator has heavy power consumption. From a full charge, the Vexis can maintain a plasma edge for an extremely limited amount of time, sixty seconds at most, necessitating careful management of power supply. Recharging requires coming to a complete stop, opening the protective cover above the plasma generator, and replacing the energy cell. Which is, you know, not a good idea mid-combat. As well, because of its positioning and relative openness, the plasma generator is vulnerable to precise, targeted strikes. Lack of a plasma edge also exacerbates the velocity problem listed under Biting the Krayt, below.
  • Biting the Krayt: The Vexis is a superb weapon for decimating infantry and disabling lightly armored vehicles, but against heavily armored, large targets, it can struggle. Loss of velocity when cutting into large targets is inevitable - this is manageable against soft targets or lightly armored vehicles, but the heavier the target, the more extreme the loss of speed. And against heavy targets which can't be cut by either plasma or a phrik plated blade, the bike can be thrown off course, destabilized, or even caused to throw its driver. Both of these situations leave the driver vulnerable, exposing the normally nimble, elusive craft to enemy fire.
  • Hard to Tame: The Vexis moves at frankly ludicrous speeds. It's also supremely maneuverable, true, but that's of little use if you're a smear against the wall. The use the Vexis safely, the driver must have either above-human reaction times, or be attuned to the Force (and experienced enough to understand this attunement) so as to feel, a micro-second ahead of time, what move must be made next. Otherwise...splat.

DESCRIPTION
(Describe some of the histories behind the submission. Give us some idea of how it might perform its function, what it excels against and what some limitations of it are. This is where you talk about your idea, flesh it out over at least a good-sized paragraph, and address some of the ways it might be used or abused. For especially powerful or ambitious submissions, a very thorough description is recommended.)
