OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: To finally submit the first piece of alchemy/metallurgy Thesh ever created
  • Canon Link: Not Applicable
  • Permissions: Not Applicable
  • Primary Source: Flash of the Blade (Creation Thread)
PRODUCTION INFORMATION
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
  • Classification: Dagger
  • Size: Very Small
  • Weight: Light
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Ever-Sharp: This blade does not require sharpening, thanks to the addition of Svolten Rhyolite along its edge
  • Boomerang: If this weapon gets too far from its creator, it will recall itself back to his hand
STRENGTHS
  • Ever-Sharp: The edge of the blade will remain sharp, regardless of how much it's used
  • Recall: The blade cannot be too far from its creator without recalling itself
WEAKNESSES
  • Recall: Even if Thesh wishes to keep the blade away, should he have to go into an area where weapons aren't allowed, the damn thing will still come back to him
  • Small: It's not really meant for melee combat. Better used to stab in the back or throw across a room
  • Alchemized: Can be destroyed by Force Light, and temporarily cut off from the Force by the likes of Ysalamiri
  • Darkside: Due to the nature of its creation, it emits a slightly dark presence in the Force. Typically this is overpowered by his own presence, but should he try to hide such the dagger can give him away.
DESCRIPTION
Thesh's first real step into Alchemy, the blade is the work of both he and his Master as he learned the basics of the craft. He did not finish it immediately, in fact it took quite some time for him to settle upon the runes he wished to have upon its surface, and the trait he wanted it to have. Ultimately, given the size of it, he opted to make it into more of a throwing knife, and thus settled upon the recall. Upon the length of the blade lie various Sith Runes infused with the darkside.

The blade is tied to him through the Force and infused with his blood. Whether he wishes it to or not, the blade will teleport back into his hand if he is more than 20 meters away from it. This means that if a target is further away than that the weapon will not reach them, even if he directs it toward them through the Force. He cannot leave it behind even if he wishes to, unless it is left within a Force-dead region which either temporarily or permanently severs that connection.

Recall can be temporarily disrupted should a fellow Force User utilize some form of telekinesis upon it, but at that point it will be a battle of wills. Ultimately the blade will always try to find a way, unless cut from the Force.

It has a rather utilitarian appearance, and is all made of one singular length of durasteel. There's no tang, no separate hilt or pommel. The grip is wrapped in a pliable yet durable vornskr leather. Though it is his earliest work, and he could likely make something better these days, he carries it upon his person and would do so even if his connection to it were severed. In a way it is a memento of his earlier days in the Sith, and a reminder of how far he has come.

Sorry I knew I was forgetting something! The way Earl and I discussed it we settled upon it being tied to him. I suppose the phrase "teleport" would be more fitting. Edited to this:

Let me know if further clarification is required.
