SETTING INFORMATION
  • Structure Name: Site A-13
  • Classification: Black Site, Prison
  • Location: Aleen
  • Affiliation: Galactic Alliance, NJO, SIS
  • Accessibility:
Site A-13 Is not a very accessible location. It is placed within the middle of the Aleen desert within a series of deep canyons and mountains. By foot it is near impossible to reach given the surrounding lack of life and water, the same can be said for speeder and land vehicles. Though one could try the experience would likely not be pleasant. The rough terrain and dust being enough to clock up wheels, repulsor engines, and pretty much anything else. The only real effective way of reaching Site A-13 is by air, something that is heavily restricted around the site itself.
  • Security:
This is a prison, and it's security reflects that.

Site A-13 is controlled and staffed by members of the Galactic Alliance Defense Force on rotation as well as several SIS members and at least one Jedi Master. The sight is protected by a planetary grade shield, activated only if the Prison is under attack. Surrounding the Prison through the various canyons are several anti-air and anti-infantry defense emplacements. The Prison is well protected, and well defended, though it is not the most secure facility in the entire Alliance.

Inside of the Prison one finds standard defenses, heavy blast doors, ray shield projectors, internal automated turrets, and of course cameras in every nook and cranny.
  • Description:
Site A-13 Is not really an imposing structure, but is a very sturdy one. The building itself appears to be rather ugly, not beauty designed into the square blocks that were placed upon one another. When it was constructed it is very clear that no one took appearance into account and rather went for design functionality. The building is a simple layout with an even simpler interior design, placed in the middle of nowhere and surrounded by absolutely nothing.

Parts of the facility have been built into the canyon rocks below, the prison cells being located deep beneath the earth while Control Centers, Hangar Bays, and of course automated defenses are located above ground.

POINTS OF INTEREST
Control Center: Perhaps the most important part of the entire Prison is the Control Center. Located at the top of the building the Control Center is where one can access anything and everything located within the prison.

From here one can activate the bases shield, control defenses, unlock cells, activate ray-shields, and do dozens of other things. The Control Center is incredibly well guarded, having only one entrance and exit. It is always fulled staffed, having at least 15 men to operate and five extra guards. An arms locker is located within the control center, the door is a double set of Blast doors with ray shield protection.

Most often one can also find the stationed Jedi Master within the Control Center.

Hangar: Perhaps the second most important location of the Prison is the Hangar bay.

As one would suspect the Hangar Bay is where all traffic goes to in the prison. No matter who you are or what you're coming for the Hangar bay is where you'll go. At the entrance of the Hangar Bay sit to turbo-laser cannons, a ray shield is capable of being projected over the entrance to prevent ingress and egress. The Hangar Bay is well protected, generally staffed by engineers, pilots, and several guards.

Cells: The purpose of a prison is of course to hold prisoners, this function is served by the cells of Site A-13. Unlike in many other prisons the cells of this Blacksite are generally somewhat nicer than what one would find.

This is mostly due to the type of prisoners that are located at Site A-13. Despite this however the place is still a prison, and thus the Cells are far less than one would find in say an apartment or even ship living quarters.

Within the cells one can find two rooms. One is the living arrangement which contains a bed, desk with built in restricted Datapad(Only performs basic functions and has no outside connections), and chair. The other room is a bathroom, containing a toilet, sonic refresher, and sink. Cells are checked regularly by guards, are normally held closed by a thick transparisteel door, but are also overlapped by a powerful ray shield projector in case of door failure.

Armory: Contained near the control center and far away from the cells is the Prisons armory. Here one can find an assortment of armors and weapons. Most of these devices are non-lethal, contain a stun setting, or are otherwise geared towards quelling riots. At the back of the armory is another section however outfitted in case the facility is assaulted, here one finds a more deadly variety of weaponry.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Site A-13 is a relatively new facility in the hosts of Prisons created by the Galactic Alliance.

Though the government of the Alliance has long held many prison worlds including Belsavis and Kiffex, the Government became aware of the fact that most of these facilities were either heavily out dated, geared towards violent prisoners, or more black sites intended to make people 'disappear'. This left an odd sort of gap in the prison system where some Prisoners were simply too valuable to be kept in any of the former prisons but of too much publicity to be held in the latter.

What came about was Site A-13.

This prison, or perhaps black-site in it of itself, was constructed for high value, low risk prisoners. This was deemed necessary due to the nature of the Galactic Alliance itself. Contained in this facility one would find Corrupt Governors, Crime Lords, and people of the upper echelons who committed crimes against the Alliance but are generally not known as violent or at risk Criminals.

These men and women are kept apart from the general population for two reasons.

The first is simply their value to the Alliance. It is important that none of the prisoners become harmed due to internal struggles with other criminals. Crime Lords getting murdered by rival Syndicates, Corrupt Governors being assassinated by understudies, etc. The second reason is because of the Prisoners Value to their own organizations. It is a fear that if put in a less standard facility that these men and women will be rescued by their respective allies.

To curb both of these reasons A-13 was constructed and built, a high security prison that sits somewhere in the gray area.
