Private Sisterly Ties

Noelle frowned. That was right, their mother had . It was certainly something to think over. It wasn't the first time she had been accused of holding herself to unnecessary standards, either. There were very few people that would now call her out on her nonsense, but there were also even fewer people that could strike a cord when doing it.

"When did you become so wise," she relented, sitting back with an unheard sigh. She didn't realize how much she was snapping at Quinn. She was a bit uncharacteristically absorbed in herself as of late. It took her a moment to actually look back to her sister, but when she did she jolted forward.

"Oh careful, you've got polish in your ha-..." Her eyes fell on a set of marks on Quinn's neck.

"What happened here?" Her finger's brushed the fresh scars.

Quinn had easily forgotten the marks on her neck from when Alina had needed to feed to survive. Her hand fell quickly from her neckline, but Noelle had already reached out and noticed the scars. The Echani's cheeks flushed a deep crimson as she forced a soft laugh to try and stave off her sister's worry. "It's nothing really Noelle, I uh -" There was nothing she could quickly come up with. Lying was something she wanted her sister to stop doing so it wouldn't be fair.

The hand that caressed the two fang marks, found its way into Quinn's freshly polished hand. She squeezed it gently and nodded. "The woman I'm seeing, she is something different - I don't know how to explain it. She was severely injured and going to die - the only way she would survive is to well feed off my anima." Quinn cringed slightly knowing that her sister would more than likely not be a huge fan of this revelation.

Already Noelle didn't approve of Vesta - how would she feel about Alina.

And here she had worried that beast of a feline had bitten her sister.

No, it was much worse.

Noelle sat back, the pads of her finger pushing into the space between her eyes in an attempt to ward off the incoming headache. "Of course," she breathed, a large majority of her reaction unreadable. Was she angry? Disturbed? Disappointed? Her eyes closed as she took this all in.

"Of course you did. Because a risky swaray with a noble at the market is too dull for you. Oh Quinn..." She dropped her hands, frowning as she tried to make of her twin.

"What are we going to do with you? Well she's done, yes? That's why you're here. At least you're not in tears this time. I think the galactic community would frown upon me calling a hit." She leaned forward and reached for her sister's hand again.

"Are you alright?"

"Noelle" Quinn started as she listened to her sister ramble trying to make sense of what was just revealed. Looking to the cat, she probably should have blamed the creature - but that wouldn't be fair to it. "Yes, I'm fine - completely fine. Some days of rest and I was back on my feet." A blatant lie, but Quinn couldn't reveal that Alina nearly killed her, consuming more than the vampiress needed to sustain herself. "I'm not her dinner trust me, it was just because it was an emergency other than that she has other sources."

Quinn didn't know for sure where and how Alina ate, but it was something she didn't want to dig into. "If by done you mean not feeding off of me then yeah she's done, but her and I aren't done." The relationship with Alina was slow and Quinn at times was frustrated with it, she appreciated Alina taking her time.

"We're moving slow, I promise. I - I really care about her Noelle and yes I'm okay, I promise." Quinn tried to read her sister's face as she gave her an awkward smile. "Are you okay?"

Noelle grew pale, the healthy flush that had once graced her cheeks bleeding away. The hand that had grabbed Quinn's turned clammy. She gripped a little too tight before pulling back.

"Me? I'm not the one with questionable lovers." Well then again, she sort of was. The line between her brows grew thick. "Clearly now I'd be a hypocrite to tell you not to, wouldn't I." She sat back, her stress slowly melting into an attempt to be reasonable.

"Our Mothers were Sith Lords-- they dominated planets. How odd is it really that you want an exotic lover." She folded her hands neatly into her lap, looking disturbed but strangely calm.

"And you promise you're being safe?"

"I promise." Quinn nodded, it was the reality of the relationship. "I returned to the Sith Empire to help get Alina out - with the collapse we've left it and I think there's something there - something that I didn't have with the others." Quinn reached out, wanting to do whatever she could to comfort her sister. Her hand rested upon the pair of hands in Noelle's lap as she scooted closer.

"Please, our mothers did their own thing, but while they played both sides of the coin at times - they always found a way to do the right thing." Quinn smiled and gave her sister's hands a squeeze. "Would you be willing to meet her? I'd like to bring her to the Solstice celebration."

Did they?

Noelle wasn't sure. Lately she was questioning a lot of things. Things that should have been steadfast, like who her parents were and what she was mean to be, were lately feeling unresolvable. Quinn had had her turn at leaving the nest and finding herself. Now, it was Noelle's.

She only hoped she liked what she found on the other side.

The squeeze of her hand brought her attention back to the mirror peer back at her. She blinked at Quinn and responded a little too fast.

"What? Yes. Well, alright." It was only then that she realized what she agreed to. Her expression caught. ... But no takesbacksie's, right? "On one condition," she leveled, her tone growing serious.

"...You try some meditation exercises with me."

“Exercises?” Quinn questioned wondering what sort of exercises she had in mind. Feeling the tension of the conversation, Quinn resolved to making a joke to alleviate it.

“I’m sure sir noble was satisfied with your kissing, my queen.” Quinn grinned. She sighed and nodded “Yes as long as you’re nice to Alina then I’ll do your exercises”

She was excited hearing that Noelle was willing to meet Alina. “Thank you.”

The mention of Sir Noble was enough to shatter the tension, hit hitting her cheeks again. Kissing. Yes. That was all they did.

"Well I won't be mean to her," Noelle countered, indignant as the clock struck 1. Alas, her thirty minutes of scheduled hobby time was over. There was a rap on the door.

Noelle looked over, a hint of tiredness gracing her as she realized what it meant. "They are like clockwork, I'm afraid. I must go, but you'll move into your rooms today, yes? None of those guest quarters. You are the sister to a Queen. If you're going to wear my face, you're going to need to start acting like one.

Her face. Yes. They would fight over that semantic until they were old and gray.

She smoothed out her dress and leaned in for a hug, her fingers unconsciously tucking Quinn's hair over the scar. Perhaps it would protect her, but unlikley.

"I'll see you for dinner. "
