Sirens of Dathomir

Dathomir...
... Centuries ago, there was a disturbance in the area that caused any one in the area who was not immune to the charms of a melodic being to become a sort of slave to her being. Many factions sent their soldiers to the voice, only to never hear from them again... Not alive at least.

There was a small transmission that would come to anyone that would come near the planet.

"Hello, if you're get-- 's that means that I've fai-- to get off of this kriffin' planet. It's fin-- ...merely leave this message alone but I'd like you to at least try to keep t--.. message spread about in case anyone of my colleges; hopefully it comes sooner than later. I'm currently in a cave near a Dathomi--... camp, heading to a small sound disturbance. I'll be camping there until the 3 cycle, if this message is still playing by the 4th cycle of the Dathomiran system, then come down. O--..."

The transmission sparked and gave off static as it played. Char-Li was on the ground, hiding in a cave with his armor on and covered in various scratches and bits of blood splattered around it; the blood being taint and blood. The Mandalorian held his DC-15s blaster along with his helmet, a small slumbering look shown on his face as he rested silently in the rocky floor.

On his way home Mantics ship picked up this strange signal. While he was not sure what it was about he could not ignore it. It sounded like a plea for help and while it could very well be a trap he did decide that while approaching this with caution he would consider it worth the risk in case it was genuine.

"Setting course for Dathomir." he reported into his com. He knew it would take time before the nearest jedi enclave would pick it up but at least he had given his whereabouts to someone, just in case.

There was a light beep on Char-Li's armor, an incoming ship or some sort of larger body heading his way. Hopefully it wasn't coming to shoot him off the face of the planet, instead help his crusade to destroy this menace that plagued Dathomir. The Mandalorian stood up from his spot and slid his helmet on, groaning and almost protesting against the gravelly ground; the climbing being nearly fatal from the fatigue that came from the Mando'a's body.

"Hello?" His comms rang out to the surrounding area toward the ship, "Mind coming by?"

Isn't fear of the unknown just wonderful? Well, maybe not for those that felt it, but it was a powerful tool for the predator waiting silently on top of that rock outcropping. Yet, balance was not lost. In turn, the victim of such paranoia became much more aware and alert to their surroundings.

Now today...here...on this planet....the balance had been broken. A being from another world had invaded the sanctum of monsters and this injunction would not go unpunished. The scramble of tough, calloused appendages on rock and tree sounded quietly in a single direction. The intruder had to be dealt with. Balance would be wrought, but whether it was in his favor or their's...that was uncertain. However, those who dwelt here had no intention of permitting the presence of foreigners. Such sentients gave up their rights by setting foot in their domain. Those who invaded were now their food to play with.

A single, humanoid creature, cloaked in the shadows, crept silently on all fours to an edge, listening and trying to depict any movement of possible, nearby prey. Below the edge, there lay a cave with a man inside [member="Char-Li Luzerei"]. He had yet to be detected, but his next actions would prove to be very important in the next moments to come.

Creature and man were, at least right now, unaware of each other. The air seemed laced with the intoxicating smell of a good hunt...yet, there was yet to be one found. This was slowly starting to upset the murder (group) of creatures.

The ship roared through the thin athmosphere and breached the clouds as Mantic picked up the signal.

"This is republic ship, the four seasons, passing through. I picked up a message, and if you give me your coordinates I will try to help you. What is your status?" Mantic replied.
He was not a very good pilot so he brought down the vessel slow and careful to avoid any misshap.

That's Funny...
...The Republic's here?

"I'm five meters from a sound disturbance, in your ship you'll merely pick up a blimp on your ship. If you're one whose prone to following rather than leading I'd suggestion you get something to cover your ears," he said, as a distant melody began to burst a tad bit louder.

A distance was given between the Siren and the Mando'a and whatever lurked along with him. A small sense of the lacking of loneliness surged as his intuition almost screamed at him to check his back and sides, but his first priority was to find whoever this ship was.

To anyone who wasn't alive during the Clone Wars, anyone in this time period at all; an old being during the time of droids and Fetts reemerged, taking people as her own hostage of sorts and leading them to their deaths. Mainly those who were in ships that were curious enough to investigate a sound disturbance a bit too closely, if those people had weaker minds or were not of the force.

"I'd hurry quick, might have to relocate. Storms brewin'."

The creature's ears perked up. The sounds of a language once familiar could be heard...from somewhere. It wasn't quite sure which direction it had come from. The creature went still and deathly quiet, hoping to pick up on the sound once more. The sound felt familiar. This creature no longer knew language, but the words that drifted to its ears seemed like a memory encased in a safe at the bottom of a lake.

Then, suddenly, at the edge of the creature's hearing, a gashing, unnatural disturbance sounded across the natural, dark sky. This lead the creature to forget about the phantoms of the past and scurry up a tall, nearby tree with much foliage. Poking its face outside of the top foliage, it watched as an enormous, wingless bird quickly darted through the sky. The sound it gave off only became louder. This angered the creature, so it let out a shrill, ear drum-piercing shriek; a defiant cry against that which would sully the hunt.

Motion Tracker set...
Char-Li immediately crouched and aimed toward the red blimp near his vision, his DC-15s blaster's iron sight aimed toward the vegetation. A small sense of curiosity and anxiety swarming his inside. He fired off a single blaster bolt, the sky it's target. A small blast came from the weapon's barrel along with it's obligatory pop of sorts.

Various Targets...
Warning... Warning...

Char-Li began to aim around, cursing softly at the fact that his Jetpack was currently offline. That's annoying. A small pick up from his Beskar'gaam would probably fix it, but that's involve turning a few things off in his HUD, not a big problem but the fact of him easily being ambushed doing such things would be the problem.

"Hurry up, Republic, diplomat!"

Kriff. Dudes. Why Dathomir?

The ship swooped over the area and came to a hoovering halt.
Slowly it lowered itself into a nearby glade.

"Roger that, your signal is clear. I am assuming that the ship is in your sight by now. Can you take yourself to pick up location?"

Mantic had to keep the ship very steady and the landing was made with alot of difficultirs but after some time it touched down. Mantic shut down the repulsordrift and left the cockpit, and made his way to through the narrow corridor to the exit.

A shot of fire sped past the general location of the creature. It recoiled and hissed at the unnatural fire which continued to shoot through the air. This caused the creature to hiss and scramble down the tree. The darkness obscured its body, but its movement could be detected. The creature had seen a flash of movement and was racing to get closer to the spot.

The creature stopped once more, 15 feet from where it last saw [member="Char-Li Luzerei"], hoping to catch another glimpse of movement.

More of the creature's brethren had noticed the star ship landing. They rushed from many different places of the forest to investigate this disturbance...and hopefully find a meal. [member="Mantic Dorn"]

"Negative..."
There were too many creatures and unknowns in the forest for Char-Li to safely travel toward the ship at this moment, plus the fact that he had a bit of a scuff up from the fight from the siren. Kriff-- Speaking of the devil, her melodic grasp began to ring out toward the skies like an <insert joking metaphor here> Imperial cruiser's engine exhaust on the planet's service, but this time the noise was fairly pleasant.

"Cover your ears or seal outside sounds!"

With that command, his helmet shut out any real sound from the surrounding area, but kept enough to allow Char-Li to maintain situational awareness. If anyone was affected by the melody, most of the wildlife being unaffected, would flock toward the songstress without hesitation or even actual thought. Char-Li was smart enough to never take his helmet off without knowing the area was safe.

(The song if you all are interested: The Sirens Song by Dominique Ventura)

Dathomiran wildlife of some intelligence began toward the songstress, mindlessly as well. Not a lot was to be done other than hope whatever creature, affected or not, would move on to droning animals.

"C'mon ya bugger. Where are ya..."

[member="Psychopaths by Ryan"] [member="Mantic Dorn"]

Mantic frowned. The man did not see the ship. Had he missed the pick up location or had he moved on.

"Sir, can you give me any directions on where to go to pick you up then? I might need to go on foot since the forest is so dense around here."

He pondered a bit about why he should cover his ears. Then he pressed the button opening up the ship, he peeked outside and took a deep breath...

[member="Psychopaths by Ryan"] [member="Char-Li Luzerei"]

The pitter patter of scuffling and movement could be heard across many of the outer surfaces of the newly arrived ship...but then the movement stopped. Outside, the many predators that had reached the ship now stopped and listened to the new orders of the Sirens. They were to stop and back off; wait and watch. The Sirens hoped to ensnare these new arrivals instead of scaring them off with their vicious henchbeasts.

The creature following the armored man also perked its ears to the sky and obeyed. It would stay back at roughly 20 feet and observe the lone man.

[member="Mantic Dorn"] and [member="Char-Li Luzerei"]

the sound of the lure hit Mantic like thunder. It was reaching inside him and he staggered back into the ship. Tentacles of dark moist poked at him, trying to find a way into his mind. Mantic waved franticly in front of him but he was to surprised. While a trained jedi knight - this whole experience was something new.

The first tentacles was dispatched by Mantics first defensive reaction but the second ensared his throat, the third rose like a snake in front of him, staring directly into his face. Mantic swallowed, panic finding its roots within him. A fourth tentacle bound its way up over his feet and legs. He could not move. In dread he was forced to watch the head of the cobra come closer to finally touch his forehead. there it burrowed itself deep inside his will.

He rose and started to walk. He needed to follow this voice. It was beautiful.

Dathomir, the planet of Sorcery.

She had heard tales of the wonders of the Nightsisters and their magic, but she had never thought to find the opportunity to experience it for herself. A renegade ship descended into the atmosphere of Dathomir, hull painted rustic red - seemingly as though it was coated in dried blood. Jasna had hired the ship to take her to Dathomir, as she wished to learn from the witches that resided on the planet. What she had not expected was the message that the ship would pick up, a message requesting help. A message to which she found herself smiling cruelly.

She would certainly help the sender of the message, if only to see how it would benefit her. If he could not offer her something of worth, well she could offer him to the witches. They always had use for slaves.

"Find the source of that signal now." she did not have to raise her voice. The pilot followed her command without question, altering his course to locate the source of the signal. It only took mere moments, before the source was found, and the ship was off in the direction of the signal. As the signal grew stronger, and the ship neared the source, her golden eyes caught sight of another ship; filled with the unmistakable lingering of the Light Side of the Force.

"Put us down near that ship," she indicated the Republic vessel with a graceful point in its direction, and again the pilot followed her command without question. A cloud of debris was kicked up as the thrusters of the ship let off compressed air and a current of warmth flooded the general vicinity of the two ships, "Raid the ship. See what can be found of value." the ship was Republic, of course there would be some sort of valuables on it - and she wanted them.

Two ships...

Maybe I could actually kill this thing?
Char-Li immediately got up and began toward the ship, doing his best to avoid anything and everything that was and is hostile to his surrounding area. His eyes were focused toward the surrounds, his blaster shooting toward anything that seemed to move toward him and weirdly enough, the sound. Sirens weren't that of an old creature, but they weren't that young either. It was surely a woman, he thinks, but he can focus on that. Maybe the force wielder can help him with find his way out of the grasp of the Siren?

Char-Li's boots thudded against the ground as he came toward the view of the ships, but then the search party. He came to a crouch just short of sight, his green armor being near the colors of the surrounding area. He cradled his DC-15s and kept it aimed, wondering if these men would be lured by the Sirens or not. He didn't know much about them, hell, they sort of looked different than that of the Republic; that much was fairly obvious.

Probably that of a Sith? We'll see.

Char-Li kept his cautious gaze, ignoring the distant songs of the Sirens which whispered for him to let go of his control, to come and find them for limitless pleasure and riches. Yeah, the day Char-Li's rich is the day he's in Mando'a Hell, fighting Jango Fett and Boba Fett with his bare hands.

Mantic heard the lure and was wrapped in its soothing song. It felt so good to know that something needed him, witout any sort of regulations or demands. Slowly he realised that the darkness was indeed something warm and beautiful... the ship was being looted... perhaps this was proof that he was wrong. That there was good in dark...

The ship is being looted!

He shook his head and looked up. He found himself in the midst of the forest. The song still tried to wrap his mind but this time he managed to put up resistance. He wrapped himself in a protective layer, an armor against the lure of the siren. He did not know for how long he would manage to keep it up.

He turned and looked back through the forest. His barely saw his ship through the forest but there were voices and people moving around there. carefully he stepped closer until he was at the edge of the glade where his ship stood.

"Hey stop that right now!" he demanded and took a step out from the forest. He realized, or rather thought, that he had been tricked. A common trick by pirates to lure a ship to land by transmitting a distress signal, only to actually rob the crew and ship as they arrived. Still unaware of the creatures hiding around them or the camouflaged [member="Char-Li Luzerei"] Mantic wrongly thought that he had found the source of the distress signal.

"If you are mistaken that ship for your own property you are mistaken. Move away." Mantic finished with a stern voice. then he sensed that there was something here. The presence of [member="Jasna Ras"] picked his attention and he cursed to himself for not being more careful. It was not a strong aura but clearly attuned to the dark side and if there was one, there could be more.

[member="Psychopaths by Ryan"]

The creatures had orders...but these new arrivals weren't part of them. The people (NPCs) that were pillaging Mantic's ship were stealthily set upon and dragged away screaming into the night by the creatures. Any who were watching would only see glimpses and vague outlines of these terrible creatures.

Only a lucky couple of crew men that were last in the light of the ship were spared.

The creature tailing Char-Li grew more and more agitated as the song of the Siren didn't seem to be having an effect. The more that the prey got away, the more the creature realized that it would have to take action.

[member="Mantic Dorn"], [member="Char-Li Luzerei"], and [member="Jasna Ras"]

Char-Li would have to run blind if he wants full range of his tracking abilities. Physical more than equipment at this point, not that it'd change anything. He felt something calling to him, causing him to have a lapse in judgment and begin toward the ship, causing some of the crew to face him.

A raising of the blaster was religious as this point, he did so with ease that it seemed as if it was planned. It wasn't, not one bit. He fired off a single round, but turned when he felt something; rather really knew something in his motion tracker was a real target and not that of the Siren's Melodic rhythm.

"Kriff..." He knew something big was out there.

Whatever was out there had just slaughtered her men, to say she was angry would be an understatement. The power of the Dark Side swelled within her as her rage fueled her power, her footsteps light and careful as she made her way down the ships ramp and into the night. She felt the call of the Sirens, but it was powerless against her rage, an emotion that took the forefront of her mind, overshadowing all thought and reason. It was then that her golden eyes turned towards the Light sider, [member="Mantic Dorn"]. She paused and allowed her rage to continue to fuel her, a spear of darkness forming in her hand through the sheer force of her will.

"Do not presume to tell me how to move, light sider." her words seething to the point that each syllable was filled with icy venom. It did not take her long to tell that the man was a Jedi, one above her rank, but she was Sith and they do not flee from a fight. Better to die honorably than to die running. "The valuables on this ship are mine. You forfeited them when you left them unattended." she turned towards the remainder of the crew of the hired ship, "Get to our ship, and do not leave. Shut the hatch and do not open it unless I command it." her words were spoken with authority, and it was clear that she expected them to be followed to the point.

Her golden eyes, swimming with malice, turned back towards the Jedi Knight. She did not make a move towards him, nor did she speak again. She would wait and see how he would move, that was her way. That was how she survived.
