By the Spirit, this was so out of Reina's comfort zone. The red-headed Padawan fidgetted as she paced back and forth amongst the shores of a lake within Naboo's "Lake Country". But after recently attempting to teach
Klar
in the act of fishing, Reina decided to finally bite the bullet and jump into something more close to her heart. Swimming. Diving. The actual action of being in water as opposed to looking from it above. She was sure there was possibly plenty of Padawans, if not fully-fledged Knights and masters that might not know how to swim. Hopefully if there's a few strong swimmers amongst the group arriving, Reina could possibly try to teach the more advanced stuff she knew as well. Techniques that were more in tune with the Force. But basics were what would be most important to her.
Her pacing continued to carry her up and down the shore, the sounds of the lake flowing nearly drowning out her own thoughts. There was plenty of paranoia that this wouldn't go well. Reina wasn't someone she'd have thought would be a good teacher. Maybe it had just been a fluke with Klar? Maybe no-one would actually show up. It wasn't as if she had made it an official class or anything. Reina had just told a few of the Padawans she had been close to about what she had planned, and if they had told other people? Well...That would be good! More people to teach. But also more strangers. It was going to be a lot of effort to teach people she didn't know, but Reina wanted to grow from what she was. She was stubborn, aggressive, but she wanted to teach. There was something satisfying about knowing that you were passing down what you knew to others.
Of course, she hadn't came to the lake unprepared. A few small crates were strewn across a small distance away from the water, filled with various different swimming aids. Flotation devices, life-preservers and anything else you could expect to be used. There was also plenty of sun protection she had brought alongside, with different sources of hydration stored away. Dehydration could be a potential issue that Reina had wanted to think of. Snacks...wasn't something she had brought with herself, though if anyone else brought them, she wouldn't complain. Or maybe she should complain. If she was trying to be a teacher, should she be more strict about the rules she put in place? That didn't matter, as Reina finally turned her attention to the group that was forming, and clapped her hands together.
"Well...Erh...Good Morning everyone! Thanks for coming out today, hope you're all eager to get swimming, or at least learning how to do it. I'm Reina Daival. For those of you who don't know me, I'm a Padawan. Now I'm sure some of you might be wondering why a Padawan is teaching all of this but...I'm quite experienced with swimming. I was raised on a fishing boat for most of my life. I think swimming is a vital skill that we all need to learn, both for our own safety and for others."
Was she talking too much? Reina did her best grin she could muster, which came out as more of a grimace as she looked over towards everyone, clapping her hands together again. Letting it echo through the air as she was trying to figure out how she wanted to word everything.
"I was hoping that we could split into groups, based off experience. That way we can potentially work in groups. Pairing up those with least experience with those with plenty. Staying near the shoreline would be for the best as well, no matter how experienced you are. This isn't a place for you to show off. It's to help teach the basics."
The red-head waved her hand behind herself for a moment, indicating the lake. They could show off later perhaps, but basics were the most important thing. In due time, maybe she could help with teaching people how to sail...but that would have to be on a larger body of water. And it also would mean the basics would be even more important to learn about. For now, Reina took a step back, ready for the groups to start forming whilst placing her hands on her sides.
"And if anyone has any questions, please feel free to ask. There are no stupid questions!"
Well, in Reina's opinion, there were plenty of stupid questions. But she wouldn't be a good teacher if she said that now, would she?
