OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
PHYSICAL INFORMATION
  • Age: 50
  • Force Sensitivity: Non-Force User
  • Species: Human (Corellian)
  • Appearance: Once a very attractive woman, Sinead's age is beginning to show. Her time in prison negatively affected her health, causing her to gain weight and suffer the effects of stress on her appearance. She dyes her hair brown, wears heavy makeup to hide her wrinkles, and her clothing is carefully chosen to make her now matronly figure look as slim and youthful as possible.
SOCIAL INFORMATION
  • Name: Sinead Drutin (nee Catlow)
  • Loyalties: Herself
  • Wealth: Penniless and destitute.
  • Notable Possessions: None
  • Skills: One of the trademarks of this character is her limited (and dwindling) skills. She used to be a dancer and quite a seductress, but age has robbed her of both these capabilities. She still has criminal connections, which could be useful, provided the connections are still valid.
  • Personality: Sinead is a deeply flawed woman. For every lesson she has ever learned in life, she's made ten mistakes. She alienated her family, her children mostly despise her, and she was betrayed by a person she trusted. Yet many would say she deserved what she got, paying the price for her years of selfishness and narcissism. Prison humbled her considerably, and she is no longer addicted to drugs, but there's no telling how long it will last. She is still a callous (but not necessarily cruel, though her lack of understanding of the consequences of her actions often leads to cruelty) person who will manipulate others in order to achieve her own ends, arguing all the while that she has no other options and wouldn't be able to survive without persuading others to support and help her.
COMBAT INFORMATION
  • Weapon of Choice: N/A
  • Combat Function: She's not a combatant. She could probably pick up a heavy object and hit an attacker over the head with it, but in the Chaos galaxy that's probably not going to be enough to stop someone.
Strengths:
  • Manipulative
  • Charismatic
  • Rehabilitated Addict
  • Humbled
Weaknesses:
  • Unintelligent
  • Hedonistic
  • Lazy/Hopeless
  • Callous
  • Criminal Record

"As for the rest of his family… well, he refused to talk about his mother." -Alyosha Drutin, "Dragons of Atrisia"

Sinead Catlow was born on Corellia to a middle class family. Lazy, hedonistic, and not very smart, she soon grew into a troubled young woman with a taste for narcotics and love of partying. While working as a nightclub dancer, she met Ferian Adair. After a brief affair, Sinead found herself pregnant and alone. She gave birth to a son named Alyosha. Hating the idea of being a single mother, she began looking for another man to support her and her son.

When Alyosha was still a baby, Sinead began a relationship with a circus acrobat named Amos Drutin, whom she found easy to manipulate. After discovering she was pregnant once again, Sinead convinced Amos to marry her. Their daughter Jolene was born not long after. But Sinead was consumed by a careless wanderlust, and soon she left her husband and two small children behind, departing for regions unknown.

Roughly a year later, her third and final child, Valerian “Val” Drutin, was born while Sinead was riding on a shuttle. While she would later claim he had been conceived by Amos shortly before she left Corellia, Val’s natural father was actually a Hapan pirate named Rhett Valentino, with whom Sinead had a spice-fueled fling. Despite her distaste for motherhood (especially of the single variety), Sinead initially resisted returning to Corellia. Instead, she became involved with various smugglers, pirates, and other less savory sorts in an attempt to prolong the inevitable for as long as possible. She frequently left Val alone, either by himself or with strangers, who subjected him to abuse. Eventually, Sinead’s luck with rogues ran out and she had no choice but to crawl over to Amos and beg him to take her back. To this end, she passed Val off as his long-lost son, claiming he had been conceived shortly before she abandoned her husband to live the life of a spice-huffing space-slut. Poor Amos wanted to believe her, so he accepted the boy into the family without further questions.

Then, the unthinkable happened. Amos was killed after a cable snapped during his circus act and he fell to his death before the eyes of a shocked audience. Alyosha, Jolene, and Val were left at the mercy of their mother, who was already restless and longing to leave safe, familiar Corellia. Despite the protests of her late husband's family, who offered to help look after the kids, Sinead took her children with her off-world and quickly became entangled with a crime lord named Tosh Rylance. Though he was thirteen years her junior, Tosh took her as his mistress. He made no secret of his resentment toward her children. He gave Sinead an ultimatum: either she must let him mold her offspring as he saw fit, or sell them off. Not wanting to lose her position as his all-expenses-paid mistress, she agreed to these new terms.

Tosh had the children participate in a series of tests meant to gauge their strength, speed, reflexes, and intelligence. The fourteen year old Alyosha, naively wanting to impress Tosh in hopes of gaining some respect, passed all the tests with flying colors. Thus his fate was decided—he would be trained as an assassin. Jolene also passed the tests, excelling even in areas where he had stumbled. But Val failed and was deemed unfit for training. Sinead displayed a shocking apathy as her youngest child was taken away, kicking and screaming, to be sold into slavery. Alyosha never forgave her for it and described her as "one of the cruelest, most callous women in the galaxy".

Sinead continued to enjoy life as Tosh's mistress for several more years, until he grew tired of her and sought to be rid of her. While vacationing on Naboo, she was unexpectedly detained by the authorities. Despite her impeccable forged ID and bodyguard, her true identity was discovered and a warrant was drawn up for her arrest. She was sentenced to various crimes due to her involvement with Tosh and thrown into prison, where she served for five years.

Recently released, she has discovered that Tosh was killed by Alyosha and Val and his criminal enterprise was scavenged by various criminal elements. Jolene reluctantly agreed to support her penniless mother for a time, but urged her to get a job. With her looks fading and her past dragging her down, Sinead seemingly has nowhere to turn.
