OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • | Intent | To develop a parasitic virus that targets midi-chlorians.
  • | Image Credit | Source
  • | Canon | N/A
  • | Permissions | TBD
  • | Links |
GENERAL INFORMATION
  • | Scientific Name | Contaminata Superbia
  • | Abbreviation | CS-01
  • | Common Name | Contaminated Arrogance
  • | Virus Family | Retroviridae
  • | Origins |
    • Synthesized
  • | Other Locations | N/A
  • | Description |
    • TBA
PHYSICAL INFORMATION
  • | Morphology | [ The shape or structure of the virus. (Ex. Is it spherical (round), near-spherical (almost round), helical (corkscrew), polyhedral, etc. You can go homebrew and just pick whatever shape makes you happy. Perhaps, add some irony and make it a heart.) ]
  • | Size | [ Viruses are very small. Most range from 20 nanometres to 250-400nm. Some can even be 700-1,000nm. Go wild. ]
  • | Color | [ Does the virus have a particular shade when looked at beneath a microscope? ]
  • | Distinctions | [ Describe any unique traits that define what this virus is. Does it infect in an unusual fashion? Does it have a strange shape? Is it considered "living" or "dead?" ]
VIRUS SPECIFICS
  • | Source | Synthetic
  • | Host Species | TBA
  • | Host Range |
    • Narrow [Midi-chlorian]
  • | Viability | Midi-chlorian rich Environment/Hosts
  • | Lethality |
    • | Non-Lethal | Becoming infected in and of itself is completely non-lethal, with the virus being engineered to specifically confuse the host's cells into targeting its own midi-chlorian cells. As the midi-chlorian cells are not designed to fulfill any function other than one's connection to the Force, it isn't inherently a threat to the infected outside of disrupting their ability to effectively use it.
  • | Severity |
    • | Extreme | Individuals who have a full dose of __ directly injected into their system suffer the immediacy of its symptoms and effects within mere minutes of application.
    • | Dormant | Individuals who become infected by __ through indirect means of transmission do not suffer its symptoms with any immediate notice. The virus will multiply and proliferate itself throughout the host when it has reached a sufficient count. How rapidly it multiplies is dependent on how frequently the individual utilizes the Force, feeding and gestating at a rapid rate depending on how frequently the midi-chlorian cells that it binds to becomes used.
  • | Infectivity |
    • [ How quickly does the virus spread? Choose from the following: Very Low, Low, Average, High, Extreme. ]
  • | Modes of Transmission |
    • __'s primary means of transmission is ideally through injection, being directly applied into the bloodstream of an individual to be able to permeate their body and deliver its full potency. However it is still capable of transmission through physical contact, inhalation, ingestion, open wounds, bodily fluids, etc. __'s transmission radius is extremely limited, only being transmitted at an intimate range where direct contact/application can occur (ie A hug, a kiss, a cough in one's face) rather than being able to travel far and wide.
  • | Incubation Period | Incubation of __ varies from individual to individual, but it was specifically designed to incubate rapidly in individuals with high midi-chlorian counts, reaching its desired conditions and symptoms within mere minutes. The higher the M-count, the more effectively it incubates. It should be noted that infection of individuals who were not directly injected with __ takes considerably longer
  • | Re-Infection |
    • | Yes | Previously infected individuals can still recontract the virus - These recontractions can only be gained through injection of a fresh strain of __.
  • | Vaccine/Cure |
    • The creation of __ did not necessitate that a vaccine or cure to be developed by Sindel Krymer Sindel Krymer , therefore there is no tangible cure/vaccine to be acquired. However, the secret to developing one is still locked safely in his own mind.

SYMPTOMS & EFFECTS
  • Midi-Chlorian Confusion
    • Rapid Mutation

STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES

Strengths

  • | Midi-Chlorian Disruption | __ is designed with the intent of neutralizing midi-chlorians in individuals. While __ itself does not directly attack them, it does confuse the host's own midi-chlorians and cells into attacking them. With the host's body being tricked into actively attacking its own midi-chlorians, the host effectively has their access to the Force halved, and gradually increasing as time goes on.
  • | Rapid Mutation | __ is extremely adaptive to its hosts biology, making it near impossible to formulate an effective cure that can be applied to the masses. Since __ binds itself to the cells of its host, it effectively becomes a unique variation of the original virus, like a fingerprint from one individual to the next. There is no 'cure-all' vaccine, as each attempt to vaccinate __ needs to be uniquely tailored to the individual.
Weaknesses
  • [ Provide, in list format, some weaknesses of this submission. 2 recommended. ]

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
[ Include a description of the founding of the virus, what it could be capable of, and its history thus far. Who discovered it? Are they able to contain it or has it gotten out of control? If it was synthesized - What was the intent? Was it on purpose or by accident? Has it already affected an area?]
