The rebuild of the Shadow Temple was underway, it was slow going but that was necessary due to the nature of the place. Connel was here, and overseeing quite a bit of the work, but this was not going to be his responsibility much longer. Desbre Gensan was going to be overseeing the place, it would have been his father’s choice (even if he didn’t understand it) so he could not let that pass. Connel would honor Caltin’s wishes without question or issue.

Omega Squad was working out in one of the simulators, putting it through its paces. Truth be told, he would normally want to be there too, but today was different. Today he was watching all of the new tech being installed, and almost on cue, he saw someone he was not expecting to, at least not today. Then again, was that not one of her joys out of life? Showing up when no one is expecting? Surprising people?

She wasn’t here yet, but Connel knew Master Ike was going to be here. After all, her “biots” were being brought in, and one of those crazy “Gonkis”. Connel couldn’t help but smile at the thought of her unpredictability. Ike’s presence always brought an air of excitement and curiosity, especially with her unconventional creations. He wondered what surprises she had in store this time, and how they would impact the ongoing work.

The restoration of the shadow temple was rather interesting when she worked on it. From the island temple they had been moving in supply crates of equipment. Rossi leading the team as she was one of the few who could coordinate among all of them. The jedi master was there hovering as the younger padawans played push feather to train. With the jedi master as the feather while she was almost lighter then air just drifting down slowly for one of the wookie's to push her back up and towards another. A practical method if there was one given their own strength. Herr mind expanding as she looked towards the mainland.

"Wonderful." She said it and opened her eyes while she looked throughout with the force but hovered in the air. She looked down at the padawans. "You did well. Master Rossi will take over." She said it and the large wookie looked at her speaking as the sounds resonated and Matsu looked at her. "I understand you aren't able to be the feather but you can still look after them." She smiled though going over and sitting on the wookie's shoulder with a small look at the crates that were stacked and ready. "I'll take those and we have some of the newest equipment as well." She said it as one hand came up and lifted the crates, the other waving when she started flying towards the mainland.

The temples floating movement had aligned just right for her to let her go into the ocean while hovering around her was the cargo crates the workers would be able to use. She could accelerate as her body and the crates practically vibrated their molecules to be the air... there was no resistance to the movement. The mainland in sight and she knew the path while they phased through the trees, branches and roots going towards the shadowlands floor. The crates moving into a clearing as the dimunitive jedi master sat on top of one cargo crate as it landed soundlessly on the floor of the shadowlands.

"Hello." She waved as some of the other workers took in the sight of it... some were surprised, some were wondering where they had come from... and some a few snickered at the others. Quickly suppressing their laughter and humor at it. The jedi master slipping off the top of the cargo container as it opened and two of the gonki's came out. She moved to sit on one of them as it was walking towards the workers. "GONK." She pointed pulling from one of the containers a small case and then a second case as a small group of Security Biots came out. Assigned to protect the temple and its area.

She rode on the gonk droid as she went to find Connel as it spoke. "GONK" She gave the droid a nod of her head in understanding, astounded by its insight of the temple area itself and the work that was going on. They would be able to serve as extra power sources as well as defenders. "I'll see they get you some extra oil the good kind." There was another excited movement of the droid and exclamation. "GONK" When she approached Connel offered a look before drifting over towards him and standing there in her silvery robes with long black hair in a braided design. SMall kyber crystal bells weaved through it as the braids fanned out to the backs of her knees.

"I brought snacks." She said it and opened the smaller case she had brought with a wide smile. The casing opening to the scent of freshly made Vondiranach Bites that Hanna had made and Hanna's Gifts which were various chocolate covered fruits from around the galaxy. Her smile wide when she offered them. "Hanna say hello."

He had been expecting crates. Supplies. Maybe another shuttle skimming over the treetops, or a lift team grumbling about the weight of phrik bracing. What he wasn’t expecting was Master Matsu Ike, drifting into the Temple as if the entire jungle had conspired to part for her.

She rode in on a gonk droid. A gonk droid. Flanked by security biots and floating cargo like it was the most natural thing in the galaxy. The workers stopped mid-haul, padawans craned their necks, and a few couldn’t quite smother their laughter. I couldn’t blame them. It was like watching a holodrama and a legend collide.

Then came the scent. Sweet, spiced, almost out of place in the damp air of Kashyyyk’s undercanopy. Snacks. Of course.

Master Ike, he said, managing to keep my tone level though he could feel the corner of his mouth pulling upward, only you could call a supply drop and a gonk parade ‘bringing snacks.’

When she opened her case, the clearing all but leaned toward it. Vondiranach Bites, Hanna’s chocolate-covered fruit… Maker help me, he thought, even the battle-hardened Wookiees looked tempted. He couldn’t help it, he had to chuckle.

You’ve already done more for morale in five minutes than I’ve managed all morning, I admitted. Desbre will inherit a Temple in good spirits, thanks to you.

Connel took one of the treats she offered, letting the chocolate melt against the salt of Kashyyyk’s air, and for a heartbeat he wasn’t a coordinator or overseer, but just another Jedi among friends.

My father used to say she had a way of making the impossible look easy. I never understood it as a Padawan. Watching her today, though — crates settled without a sound, padawans inspired, workers laughing — I think I finally do.

He bowed his head, half in thanks, half in acknowledgment. I’ll make sure the gonk gets its oil. The good kind.

The droid answered with a triumphant GONK, and for once, He felt like the Shadow Temple wasn’t just being rebuilt. It was alive again.

She gave a nod looking at him as some of the padawans were around. Her hands moving to take one of the cookie's with a nod. "What else would I bring?" She said it more with a small smile, amusement in her mind as she moved along the ground... maintaining her hover those few mico measurements from the ground. She didn't have to make a large showing but she was also able to move around without sound or her robes moving. Distribution of the snacks to all of the people. "And half od a temple is the morale. If everyone is overly serious and on edge for anything it will translate down towards the padawans eventually."

She spoke while finishing up and coming over to him as the Gonk droid moved off to go with the others who were finding a place to help. The jedi master looking at Connel as she stayed there. "Now I have brought a lot of things we can set up and even more that could be cool and interesting." She said it while moving towards the crates and her other case. "Now just hear me out, jedi music night. We helped develop an auditory acoustic converter. it takes a persons voice and converts it to extra energy. The Atrisians are using it to have their battlemaidens sing furing fights to provide their ships with extra power."

There was the case that she opened as well. "We have also developed this." She pointed towards it as there was a lightsaber and it was standard sized, polished to a mirror finish like look as she held it. "We developed new components for a lightsaber and it was recommended we try and advance what is already well refined... so we have developed the hybrid system which allows for interchangeable components to any saber... but when combined it each creates the BATTLEMASTER AI, which aids in combat by recommending and adjusting the blade itself." She said it while looking at it and provided a lot for herself to see it.

He was listening, and remaining open minded to all that she would have to offer. After all, she was bringing this on and of her own volition. However he could not allow himself to be “wide-eyed” (even if she DID bring candy and snacks). ‘Auditory converters”? That was a really cool idea, and the uses for it in combat were apparent, it made him imagine those with longer hair braiding it, wearing fur and singing while leading a charge for some reason though.

We could load up the vault with those components, he thought out loud, they will come in handy, for those who may need them the most. I think we could use the auditory converters over at the Temple of the Elements, I can talk to Master Siasides about that.

Connel took another one of the treats and popped it into his mouth, as he munched on it, he let her explain the BATTLEMASTER AI. Clearly this was what she initially wanted to bring, but brought the other items to sort of “build it up”. EffectiveConnel admired her strategy, realizing she had planned the presentation carefully to capture his interest. He nodded thoughtfully as she detailed the potential applications of the BATTLEMASTER AI, already envisioning how it could enhance their operations.

So, this AI, you would put it in the lightsaber? I ask because it can adjust a blade? Am I understanding you correctly? It was a genuine question, he was open to it all.

"It can do a lot more then adjust a blade. With each component you are able to individually make a saber much stronger. From the lens having a built in malstare layer to make the blade immune to the effects of cortosis, to the crystal assembly chamber housing several inlaid crystals as well as having space for ones to be customized. The emitter focuses it enough to come out as hot as a cryo forge used for smelting pure beskar with a strike and altering the blade for density of the containment field so it can be non-lethal, adjusted to a ghost blade to be silent and invisible or twisted and curved in various shapes. We even added a lightwhip setting."

She said it while they were moving out pieces of the equipment to be used. Converters, fabricators and builders. Automated processes would allow for construction efforts to be done. "We developed it to increase the combat effeciency of our jedi in the silvers and jadeite. Thrrough tireless research with battlemasters and the warmaster. It can adjust itself and talk with the jedi telling them with predictive measures or adjustments to maximize their forrms and conserve the most energy." She gave a nod while looking at the saber. "Also solarite metal so only a jedi can wield it and it will bond with them so each saber in unique enough with a bond."

Listening to her go through everything, well… he was listening… but all he could think about was updating and/or constructing new weapons. Three of them. Two shortsabers for C.Q.B. and a dual phase. However there was something to this that he did not want to face. Those he had were more than functional. This was a concern for another time though.

Perhaps, he thought out loud, we could make a sort of “Forge” like the one that is… or in this case probably was on Tython. Maybe with all of these components, this could be something that those who need that extra “oomph” can come to, in order to build their more specific weapon? Not everyone is going to get a staff, or a whip when they are building their first, but when they learn to be an investigator, or a weapons master?

The more he theorized, the more he thought about those new weapons he wanted to build. Pulling “Dawn’s Light”, his Lightsaber and showing it to her for inspection, he had an idea. I have been wanting something more “multi-faceted. Sort of a “sword” or “staff” style frame of Phrik, or Songsteel with the energy as the edge. Extendable like a dual phase, but when the energy is disengaged, it could be used like a club, or baton, if necessary.


He would build his own weapon, but if she could provide insight. All the better.

"I mean I don't recommend it to start but the hilt can extend or retract as needed even reverse the style of the grip for a shien style. We went for ultimate comfort and design utility to be the saber for a jedi and it is much harder to destroy or damage so the ones who treat the blade like it is their life." She said it with a smile on her face though while she stood there with the case. "We have them going out to some and improving many more sabers where they only want a few pieces. Further updates, upgrades and development will be easier afterwards as the AI will be able to update and upgrade itself using the materia. The absorbing capabilities of the materia will also provide something slecial as it can absorrb paddle beams and sonic blasts while the heat of the blade vaporizes slugs."

As he hald out the weapon, turning the hilt sideways and engaging the blade so it did not come near her, he ran a hand over it as he explained.

So, he ran his hand back and forth, you wouldn’t recommend this extending and retracting like a snap baton? Keeping like the frame of sword, but the edge being the actual energy?

The workers around them were busy and efficient, so he could take his eyes off of everything for a few moments. Heh, he playfully blamed Matsu for making him like a kid in a candy store.

She gave him a nod of her head and a shrug. "I mean you could the hilt can extend like a baton and be used. It is sturdy and gripped for you." She said it while motioning with her hand and fingers to show him. "It is one of the more impressive developments, it will even repair itself and collection ambient energies around to properly maintain itself. So one saber will last throughout a lifetime or even become a legacy." She knew the power of it would be able to endure if they had developed it correctly. Matsu was checking on more of it where she could. "You have to be ready for there to always be more and this will give a lot more, the AI will learn, it will adjust and it can if allowed make the adjustments itself. An almost autonomous instinct for defensive measures."

So it’s like an individual version of SERAPHIM, so to speak, disengaging the blade, he was referring to the AI created for fleet operations, I get it, this idea of mine isn’t the most feasible, that is why I was waiting to ask you about it. Father always said you were the expert in this sort of thing.

He wasn’t brushing anything off, Connel just wanted to make sure it was known that he was being open minded to what she had to offer, she IS the expert after all. Just thought of “work” viability. Anyway tell me about those Gonks… a loud GONK could be heard down the corridor.

"I am not completely familiar with some of the things your father made. Military specs are harder to get from another company something about trade secrets and operational security." She said it as a small joke but gave him a nod that he wasn't wrong. "As for the gonks, they are some of the finest in droids to have in a temple. From being back up power supplies, conversation starters and dedicated racers to these one being dedicated to protecting their temples and homes. THey have lightsaber protocols which allow them to defend and protect against attacks." She looked at them. "ALso amazing at conversational engagements.. they can listen to whatever you need to say and won't repeat it to anyone."

Instead of a “group”, it’s a personal AI? He had a slight inclination she was making a joke, but he still clarified. Then she was going on about how great the GONKS were, and the thought of them being spare power supplies gave him the epiphany of finally understanding what they were created for. Seeing them race must have been about as fun as watching Dewbacks do… well.. .anything…


Alright, personal note, could I buy some parts from you? I want to do some updating later. Might as well ask. I’m not getting picked up for another couple of hours. another loud GONK could be heard down the corridor.

"Of course but not getting picked up forr awhile... Connel did you get kicked off the transport ship again?" She said it with her best mother look as her hands went to her waist and eyebrow raised. "You know you can't be doing that. What will the neighbors say?" She said it but was looking at him more with humor before she spoke. "But yes, I will always be there to offer what you need. Your father was a friend and constant reminder why I should always make my wife happy to not be sent to the couch." There was a nod of her head when she moved around. "I can also get a few other things, special things that you might not know you need like our reconstructors, they would help with the rebuilding phases as they maintain the facilities."

Her sense of humor was so weird to him. Make no mistake, he was chuckling to everything she had said, and genuinely, but it was still odd how where Matsu’s humor goes. From chatting about Gonks to making fun of him for getting picked up by Omega Squad’s “Raven” all but seamlessly just made him shake his head as he laughed.

I’m just making sure some of the proprietary items are installed while my brothers… He meant to say “team” and probably would realize she would make fun of that later. So, with your new items for a saber… do you need all of them together, or could you pick and choose? It was an honest question.

"For the full Ai to be unlocked, you need all of the pieces of eight... but if you aren't into the combat AI then you can use individual pieces. Each one is made for a plug and play approach as Zak would call it." She said it while looking there for a moment and around. "We'll also see about a few other things.. I know there were plans for a more advanced AI to bring into the temples. NOt just for security but for expansion and construction or even maintaining it. Take away some of the strain so the jedi can concentrate on the contemplation of the force and all of its movements throughout the universe and all that."

Whoever “Zak” is. He might have met this gentleman in the past, but that was the past. Either way, it was not something that he was thinking about, but Connel was willing to field test. Both on his person and here at this redux of the Shadow Temple.
Well, if you’re willing, I’ll definitely give it a shot. Also, anything that can keep this as “stealthy” and “quiet” as possible. He nodded at the thought of “AI” but was still concerned about power output. Anything logistics wise would be a good thing.

"Oh yes, one of the built in effects and designs is the ghostfire allowing the blade to be invisible and the saber to produce no sound. Makes for its functions to be quite impressive if you adjust the containment field so it is a sickle or even a whip. Testing showed we could do a lot there potentially." She said it while looking at him. "Though the biggest danger is forgetting to turn it off and stabbing yourself... we went through three biots before we realized what they had done." She tapped her chin though for a moment with a grin on her face. "I kid kind of our testing is much better and refined then that... though we have managed to make the output of the saber intense enough it melts beskar so there is that benefit when facing mandalorians or bounty hunters... their slugs vaporize faster."

Connel would quirk an eyebrow she would EASILY recognize, only from his father. He knew she was kidding, but was more willing to kid back.
I need an aspirin. A tiny snort as GONK could be heard down the halls, he wondered aloud. Now the “portal”... is that something can be disengaged when necessary? I remember my father telling me about that when this was felled initially. I’m not trying to get it to happen, but wondering if that is something that can protect other temples if someone figures it out.
