Simply a business call

20% had managed to slip through his fingers. There were a few parties left to approach - one of ‘em was Ereza Kep, it wasn’t entirely made clear if Kep was the actual shareholder or simply some strawman put in place to keep identities vague.

Neither did Ovmar particularly care, for once there wasn’t a plot in a plot, no straws hidden behind sleeves or aces (whatever the kids used to call it these days). He simply wished to take ownership over Mohc Extractives, honestly… it was more about the name than anything else.

The locations weren’t all that important, new ones could always be made. But the name… it was a good name, tasted good on the tongue and Ovmar wasn’t exactly a master of original names.

So this was the easiest way, for someone like Ovmar.

A simple, discreet messaged was sent to the mister Kep.

Mister Kep,

It has come to my attention that you preside over certain interests in the Mohc Extractives. I represent certain other interests which would like to purchase a controlling interest in the company. Money isn’t an issue and alternative methods of payment are not off the table.

I look forward to your response.

Mister Ovmar -

As no doubt Miss Arceneau has on record, the man of whom I represent, henceforth referred to simply as Mr. Black, is not interested in selling. However, he will entertain other offers.

Give me your best.

Mister Kep -

There are several pieces which might interest your client. Notably, a repository of knowledge detailing ancient Force Techniques by the hand of one Darth Nox and a handful of datacrons containing extensive excerpts from one Je’gan Olra’en.

This should be a suitable replacement for the valued shares of your client, I look forward to hearing from you.

Yes, I stake my reputation on the authenticity of the items.

That said. Sometimes one wishes for something more substantial than the guarantees of a businessman, and I understand that your client wishes for his privacy to remain private.

Samples from both items can be shared for you to review, or if your client has any specialists hired they could see them for themselves. This should be enough to guarantee your client’s anonymity, while easing his mind.

Of course I am open to other suggestions.

And so it was that a representative of Jared Ovmar met with the representative of the man referencing to himself as mister Black. They met on a secure location where Kep got all the time he needed to verify the authenticity of the items Ovmar had offered as barter, when both parties were satisfied the bargain was struck and the items exchanged.

Kep and through him mister Black acquired the holocron of Darth Nox and Datacrons on Je’gan Olra’en, while Jared Ovmar acquired the 16.67% shares of Mohc Extractives from Black.

No funny business was attempted, and both parties went back home content with the knowledge a fair trade had been concluded.
