Cassian's lips curved faintly, the way they often did when Dominique's poise met his patience. He leaned against the stone railing overlooking the grotto, the quiet lap of the water and the filtered sunlight making the air feel almost domestic despite the weight of their titles.
"I do." he said after a moment. "Perhaps too well. The hours spent ensuring others don't collapse the structure beneath them. Decisions, pressure, expectations… none of it leaves much time for stillness." His gaze followed the slow movement of light over her profile. "So when someone like you takes the time to meet me here away from the boardrooms and comm channels, I don't take it lightly."
He folded his hands behind his back, posture measured but at ease. "As for what I'd like to talk about—" His tone softened, sincerity threading through. "Anything, tell me more about yourself. About you, not the director...but Dominique Vexx."
