Silver is Worth a lot Right?

[member="Vladimir Kirov"]

Once again Camellia found herself waiting in the hanger of Rendili Stardrive's orbital shipyard and station awaiting the arrival of new clients. Clients who warranted the presence of the company's CEO, that being her. To be quite honest as she stood hands clasped behind her back waiting patiently for the arrival of the party representing the group Rendili would be selling to, Camellia found herself a little anxious. After all, meeting with several important members of the Silver Order wasn't something to take lightly. They wanted quality ships and she aimed to give them just that. They were a rising and influential group, if she could provide them with the ships they wanted and needed and satisfied them immensly then it would greatly improve the company's reputation.

Especially when Rendili was looking to rise again as a key member of the Republic, of which the Silver Jedi were closely affiliated with as allies. Pleasing the Silver Order with this deal would likely net Rendili Stardrive some attention as a shipwright that got things done and did them well. Hopefully the fact she was also a military individual, being part of the Defense Fleet and all, would help them to consider her offers more valid with an understanding a warship's usage and what it would be required to do. Of course what exactly the Silver Order would want would be up to them to explain once they arrived.

Bracing himself against the side of the wall in his room aboard the old Consular-class Space Cruiser he had managed to requisition on behalf of Master [member="Iella E'ron"] Vladimir closed his eyes and swallowed back another wave of nausea. This whole song and dance was becoming more and more distressing because he was spending much more time hopping from one planet to another for various missions. He was starting to distinguish himself within the Antarian Rangers and his recent acceleration into the position of a Ranger Captain because of the mission to Vaynai gave him greater responsibilities. He had taken a part in the negotiations for this contract as a military advisor even though it was quite obvious he didn’t enjoy being onboard ships he knew the basics and since the Silver Jedi Fleet was a little dated hodgepodge of various ship models it was certainly an ideal time to bring them up to date.

As the old cruiser came out of hyperspace the old soldier’s nausea started to pass, he opened his eyes and took a look out of the viewport at the Rendili shipyards buzzing with activity ahead. This was to be a test for both organizations to see if the shipwrights here could deliver what the Silver Jedi required, if they could prove themselves on this small contract it was possible a long term relationship could be established. Vladimir certainly had high hopes, the basic specifications for the ship were already prepared by their own engineers but he was curious to see what a dedicated ship builder such as Rendili could do with those specs.

Finally pushing of the wall he had been bracing himself against Vladimir picked his blaster up off the end table beside his bunk and holstered it as he departed for the bridge. He took a comm unit from his pocket and dialed it to the frequency Master E’ron had provided as her personal comm before departure. He hadn’t seen her since leaving Voss but he had spent a great deal of time in his bunk the crew knew what they were doing and certainly didn’t need a lot of instruction from him. “Master E’ron, I am sorry to interrupt but we have arrived, I figured you may want the opportunity to prepare in some way. I am headed for the bridge to coordinate our landing, I will meet you at the landing ramp when we have set down.

Arriving on the bridge mere moments later Vladimir nodded to the Captain who was already coordinating their landing through the comm officer and the operators in the Rendili yards control center. His presence up here wasn’t really required these men and women were Rangers in their own right and every Ranger he had ever worked with was professional and organized. They were already arranging docking clearance in a hanger that apparently a delegation had already been arranged and awaited them. The Ranger Captain smiled to himself as the pilots brought them in for a landing in the designated hanger he already appreciated that Rendili was obviously taking this contract seriously.

Leaving the bridge to the Captain and his crew Vladimir walked the short distance to the landing ramp hoping to find Master E’ron already waiting. He would let her take the lead from here on out as she was a part of the Council and this negotiations could have far reaching effects on the space the Silver Jedi defended.

"Thank you Vladimir", was Iella's response to the message they had arrived. Iella had been going over some information, intel from around the galaxy, some of it directly related to the Silver Jedi and others regarding the news from Coruscant. She had never really forgotten the peoples of that planet and kept her she open to all the information of movement of the Sith. Something else plagued her mind, a message through the force telling her of bad events, more personal to her. But it was faint and distant and soon she would have to mediate to find the answers.

Iella already dressed in her formal Silver Jedi robes, only had to complete the look with her cream cloak. She wrapped it around her shoulders and left her quarters for the ramp where she would find Vladimir. Vladimir Kirov, one now of great standing within the Silver Jedi, a Ranger of the highest quality and soon to be placed in a command position that would see him fly.

She smiled at the though as she reached the ramp and found him there. "Greetings Vladimir, now that your trip is over .. I have news for you. Your outstanding work within The Order of the Silver Jedi has not gone unnoticed and it is with pleasure that I inform you .. you are promoted to Ranger One. You have complete command of The Antarian Rangers. Congratulation Ranger Kirov", she smiled as she presented him with a formal bow.

'Now lets get to business, lead on".

Nodding slightly to Master [member="Iella E'ron"] as she approached the landing ramp Vladimir kept his eyes cast down in respect as she spoke. He looked up somewhat shocked, years of training never to make eye contact with a woman forgotten in a momentary lapse, he was almost too shocked for words. Turning his eyes down again he saluted to the Master. “Thank you, I will do the office justice you have my word.”

An extra bounce in his step evident due to the great honor just bestowed, this was exactly why he had left his home to achieve more than he would have been able to within the Hapan military but such a rapid promotion to leading the entire military arm of the Silver Jedi was more than he had ever dreamed of. Leading down the ramp he spotted the anxious looking CEO of Rendili, this was the first time they were meeting in person but there had been may holonet calls establishing this contract so he was somewhat familiar with the woman. He led Master E’ron to [member="Camellia Swift"] giving the CEO a nod of respect his eyes never making contact with her either before introducing Iella.

“Master E’ron, it is my pleasure to introduce you to Miss Camellia Swift, as you already know her company has agreed to contract with us to provide us with a new vessel. From our discussions I am confident she will complete this small contract beyond our expectations and as I outlined in our earlier discussions if this contract meets or exceeds expectations it could lead to a longer contract to update our entire naval force.” Vladimir stated as he introduced the women to each other.

Yes anxious was certainly the right word. Only recently taking over Rendili Stardrive after receiving the rights from the previous executive left Camellia feeling rather determined and nervous. The young woman wanted nothing more than to prove worthy of her selection and put in the work for the company so that she truly earned it. To that end she was prepared herself to put forth her best as the Silver Jedi's vessel entered the hanger bay and after a few moments a pair exited the craft. [member="Vladimir Kirov"] was more easily recognized from the holo transmissions that had been made to lay out the groundwork of their business. The individual next to him, however, was not someone with whom Camellia was acquainted. Although it was easy to tell judging by the resplendent robes and flowing cloak that the individual must be one of the actual Jedi of the Silver Order.

And a Master of it at that as Vladimir introduced [member="Iella E'ron"] to her. Camellia hoped her own attire of her uniform as a member of the Defense Fleet wasn't disheveled in any way, it was bad manners if it were, but especially so with such esteemed visitors. Successfully meeting the needs the Silver Jedi required for their ships was the most important task at hand. Inclining a little as introductions were made Camellia smiled to the representatives as she spoke. "It is a pleasure to meet you both as well. Taking into account some of what you mentioned ahead of time I have already prepared a list of viable options that could fit the needs of your organization. I can show you them in full in my office, and if you'd like at some point, now or later, I can show you around the construction berths themselves so you have an idea of how assuredly the work will be done to our fullest. I think the idea that I have in mind to give you the best our shipyards can offer will please you."

[member="Camellia Swift"] [member="Vladimir Kirov"]

Smiling, Iella greeting the girl. "A pleasure to meet you too, Camellia", she said bowing her head in a sharp fashion. Iella took great pleasure in the way Camellia was dressed, something of it reminded her of her past, as a smuggler and repairing ships, as a Corellian will want to do.

"I would very much like to see berths after we have looked over the options, if that is to your liking Vladimir?", she looked toward the new Ranger One. After all this was not only for the Jedi but the men and women what will serve to protect Voss and all citizens. She wanted the very best for them.

With a small nod Vladimir looked around the landing bay they were already in to keep his eyes busy. "I think that would be ideal, it would be good to see how these purposed ships will be constructed. If it is permissible I would like to purpose that should we sign this contract that we be allowed to have some of our own engineers involved in construction in some way, so we have a better understanding of how to repair these purposed vessels when ultimately they take damage in the field. With the threat of the Sith growing every day I am certain these vessels will eventually see some military applications in defense of the galaxies' peoples of course."

Vladimir looked towards [member="Camellia Swift"] again not making direct eye contact. "I am quite looking forward to seeing what you have drafted for us, if you would be so kind to escort us to your office so we can get a look at what you have produced since we last spoke."

[member="Iella E'ron"]

[member="Iella E'ron"] [member="Vladimir Kirov"]

Camellia nodded her head in assent as well as she responded, smiling at how thing seemed to be going rather pleasantly. "Certainly, that's no problem at all. It would certainly be useful for your own engineers and mechanics to have a grasp on the ships' construction, especially in regards to a few sections of the project that are a little outside the norm. I'll tell you about them more in detail in my office." Which would only take them a short while to pass down several corridors, the office thankfully being on the same level as the hanger deck the Silver Jedi's transport had been guided into it. In reference though, the Dock Chief's station was on the other end of the shipyards on another level while the station supervisor was mererly a few floors below Camellia's.

Once in her office she would begin her presentation right away, but give time for each detail to sink in. She already had the blueprints and design schematics for the parts and plans out and ready to be looked over as she would go over them. "I figured that your organization would be interested in only the very best we could offer, but also require vessels that would be manageable to both crew and operate. With such in mind I have prepared a catalog of our updated products as well as those we offer still from our original listings. However, what I have in mind for your Order is much more. . . . .unique, albeit more expensive and tedious to construct as well, but certainly more powerful than what is on the open market. I think it goes without saying that our Hammerhead Cruiser design from olden days is well known, and that perhaps you've heard of its reintroduction with modernized and modified improvements. I think several of these ships could field your needs, and with a little extra modification, become even more effective. You see we have a particular product that never really worked its way into the open market, a reactor design you see. At the time of its conception is was generally unneeded because it didn't fit with the intended vessel and said vessels already had their design in place. I'm speaking of our Proton-8 Reactor here. Essentially Rendili Stardrive manufactured a reactor that could generate as much energy as the I-a2b Reactor that Imperial Star Destroyers once used, but at 1/4 the size. Now as its known many ships size in design is based upon the size of the reactor necessary to power it, this would mean the Proton-8 Reactor could provide enough energy to power a destroyer to a ship 1/4 its size, around frigate or cruiser class. Meaning that any ship using the reactor with such a size with have their shield strength nearly quadrupled due to the ship's smaller size and thus denser shield coverage, and their weapon strength doubled with the spare energy. My estimate is that you could essentially create a frigate that could rival an assault cruiser, if not a heavy cruiser, sized vessel. Perhaps on a cruiser you could go further. . . . . . .however, the cost of making the part, which is an intense and difficult process though the end result is perfectly safe and stable, is quite high. You could likely purchase a light SD or Heavy Cruiser for the same price. Yet, at frigate sized with the strength of a larger vessel, but requiring a reduced crew compliment to field and appearing unassuming at first, it is an especially good deal I would think."

Pleased with the direction of the discussions so far Vladimir gestured for the woman to lead the way to her office as she completed her thought. He had been prepared for a much greater walk but it also didn’t surprise him that the woman’s office wasn’t all that far from the berth they had been directed to. Following her into her office he stepped up to where she had the schematics laid out and knew instantly he was beyond his depth he had intentionally spent his life not learning anything about ships, it seemed now he was going to get his first of likely many lessons, if he was to lead the Rangers he would need to learn the capabilities of all their equipment.

The Hapan man made a note to arrange a sit down with their engineers and review this design along with all future designs as he listened to [member="Camellia Swift"] review this design with them. It was certainly an intriguing design the idea of being able to field a vessel that could hit outside its weight class was of particular interest. The Antarian Rangers didn’t have a large group of personnel to crew these vessels so the need for less crew to do similar damage was worth a lot to them and certainly the Jedi didn’t travel in large groups typically, unless there was a grave threat so the ability to get away with small crews was going to be quite valuable to the council as well.

Vladimir kept his eyes buried in the schematics trying to understand them as he spoke up again. “You mentioned higher cost, how much exactly are we talking about, respecting the fact that you need to be profitable I was hoping we could arrange a mutually beneficial price. We do not have unlimited resources after all, we do what by the grace and good will of those we defend and if we started spending those resources on militarizing too much we risk becoming that which we oppose. That in mind is there anything we can do to help reduce costs or construction time?”

The new Ranger One saw the benefit of this project and obviously this woman and her engineers were skilled because this wasn't like anything he had ever seen before, most ships he had experience with focused on bigger hulls and more guns here it seemed to be the opposite with the same affect it was refreshing. Vladimir started to wonder with all this ingenuity if they could design some form of system that reduced the affect of hyperspace on his relatively tender stomach but he shook that thought from his mind, that wasn't as important as being able to field equipment capable of use against the rising threat of the Sith. He glanced towards [member="Iella E'ron"] to see what her opinion would be waiting quietly until she got her two cents in.

[member="Vladimir Kirov"] [member="Camellia Swift"]

Iella listened to the information provided by not only the visuals but the very knowledgeable Camellia. She smiled as she listened to Vladimir, a clever man he is show himself more to be each time Iella has the pleasure of his company. He has a business man's mind and that would be very beneficial for all.

"I am always concerned not only with shields but scanners and sensor arrays. What is it range and abilities. I will want this ship to have capacity for aggressive scans, I want to know what is on the other ships", she asked... " As well as on the ground from the sky", she wonder if there was the ability to increase these capabilities, on this ship the Silver Jedi are interested in.

[member="Vladimir Kirov"] [member="Iella E'ron"]

Of course the price would always be an issue. It almost made Camellia grin as she was heavily amused at the request despite how incredible the product she was offering was. Then again, what buyer didn't want to spend as little as possible, nonetheless it wouldn't hurt to explain things for the both of them, especially when they might get some of what they want anyway. "Bumping down the construction time would also increase the price you know because of the added labor it would take to speed up the work while maintaining proper quality. Even with your engineers helping they would be following our lead and not taking the initiative to the work on their own. As it is it is a stretch to allow them in on the work at all, we risk exposing some trade secrets and exclusivity on your repairs by teaching and allowing them to learn a few tricks regarding some of the parts specific to this project. Thus I am making great allowances as it is. As for sensors, to implement an advanced sensor suite with sufficient power for what your asking some allowances on the ship's space would have to be allowed. Some things simply cannot be done after all. To install a fully advanced array of sensors like I get the impression you want, you'll likely have to cut out the hanger space, some of the added weapon systems, or the redundant shield generator to make the space. If we could add in such advanced systems after everything else you'd need a reactor a 1/4 of the size of the Proton-8 and yet still give the same amount of power it and the I-a2b do. If you want my recommendation the extra shields and the hanger seem more important to your designs than the firepower specifically. You'd rival any normal frigate in volley exchanges rather than overwhelm them, but you'll still have nearly triple or quadruple their shields and have fighter coverage and a sensor array that won't let much hide from your sight. If you want my opinion, these specific advanced designs should be bought minimally. They're powerful yes, but they will be expensive and you won't be able to field as many. Essentially I'm saying buy one, two at most as flagships for your fleet then fill the rest out with our regular Hammerheads we've just reintroduced. In addition if you do that maybe it would be better to alter the design I showed you to keep the firepower but lose the hanger space for the sensors. The other Hammerheads can maintain their fighter support while your flagship focuses on being the most powerful machine you have in the fleet. Each will cost about the same as a heavy cruiser, but they'll require less crewing, be able to tackle Assault Cruisers, and have the advantage of being unassuming before they unleash their full power. If bought in a bundle with normal Hammerhead warships we could reach a discount on the sales as well. Does this make sense and sound reasonable to you?"

Giving Iella’s requests some thought he pondered the value of having a heavy sensor suite on a ship that was meant to be a front line heavy hitter in its modified form made him wonder if they could perhaps focus on that with this vessel and organize a better ship with heavy electronic features. “I like the idea of a ship with a better sensor suite but it may be better to put that on a vessel designed to be more maneuverable than this one and I think that would be best to address after we have received satisfactory delivery of this purposed vessel. I agree focusing on defensive systems rather than its offensive systems would be ideal, we certainly don’t want to give the impression we are focused on destruction and our ships must be able to convey that message as well.”

Looking at Iella as he didn’t know how much they could afford as he didn’t know the financials directly he didn’t even know what kind of budget the Antarian Rangers were afforded let alone what kind of credits the Silver Jedi had to wield about. “I agree, a pair of the more advanced models for now would be a good call we can figure how best to utilize them alongside the rest of these vessels, how many do you think we could afford at this time Master E'ron?”

He didn’t want to commit them to a purchase they couldn’t afford but he knew it was critical that the Silver Jedi Order have access to these vessels as soon as possible there was so much more they could be doing for the galaxy if they were properly equipped.

[member="Camellia Swift"] [member="Iella E'ron"]

[member="Vladimir Kirov"] [member="Camellia Swift"]

Iella's brow furrowed as she listened to both of them. "Our budget is healthy enough Vladimir, however, Camellia speaks wisely. The sensor array already in the ship will be sufficient, if we order two with a more advanced capacity then I think we can not do it", she walked around thinking.

"Vladimir, we have more then enough credits to cover the costs of one ship .. ", she turned back to Camellia, "What star fighters have you to offer us? with more powerful sensors? A full squadron of starfighter might do the trick".

[member="Vladimir Kirov"] [member="Iella E'ron"]

Well, the Master certainly seemed to have a better understanding about the capacity issues of having such advanced warships be too advanced. Perhaps if something smaller and more powerful than the Proton-8 Reactor could be produced it would be another matter entirely, but for everything she was offering to place on a frigate sized craft as it was it was already an incredible chore and an incredible display of engineering mastery. "Our latest corvette design may actually solve your sensor and scanner concerns. We've built them as effective solo operation vehicles meant exactly for what you desire the capabilities you mentioned. They have highly advanced scanning systems and are quite capable vessels in their own right. They aren't nearly as terrifying combatants as the normal Hammerheads we have or the advanced ones I'm trying to sell you, but they would fit your reconnaissance requirements and are indeed quite maneuverable and fast. They do have less missile launchers than other corvettes, but with their considerable sensor arrays and the fact they can carry several starfighters as escorts they may be what you need. As for fighters themselves, considering you seem to desire and need decent escort, recon, and starship capable of starfighter combat if need be. . . . . I would highly recommend either our Aurek Strike Interceptors or Liberty Interceptor models. Both are highly effective, though the Aurek is slightly faster than average, though the difference only shows in skilled pilots, while the Liberty contains better targeting systems."

Assumedly Camellia would hand over a catalog of the products in question to detail them to these clients. "In my opinion as a military officer more than a business woman, an effective combat force for you likely would merit one or two of the advanced Hammerheads, with an additonal four or six normal Hammerheads to supplement them, two to four Praetorian Corvettes to fill your sensor and scanning requirements as well as to field appropriate recon and escort vessels, and a mix of Aurek and Liberty Interceptors with a few F-18 Pillars. The F-18s are highly effective recon, patrol, and escort starfighters that carry chaf launchers in addition to their other armaments. They would be very effective to place on the Praetorian vessels as their chaf launchers could help provide screens for missile barrages against them since they are smaller and more vulnerable ships compared to the frigates. I'd suggest a grand total of eight F-18s, thirty six to forty eight Aureks, and thirty six to forty eight Libertys. Does this sound within your organizations price range to field a fleet?"

Looking over the catalog gave Vladimir a handy diversion for his eyes as he considered the suggestion made by their host, being a military man himself he appreciated the value of enough firepower for any situation but he was also appreciated the fact that all these designed seemed to have value for other mission types. The fleet [member="Camellia Swift"] was suggesting would be quite a force to be reckoned with, built to their specifications for a nice blend of speed and power. He couldn’t wait to take delivery but he didn’t let it show, his face was a blank mask, like trying to read the surface of a stone. He was intent on letting Iella call that shot since it wasn’t him that had to justify the expense to the council he had made his recommendations and wouldn’t share anything further in front of their host unless called upon to do so.

[member="Iella E'ron"]

[member="Vladimir Kirov"] [member="Camellia Swift"]

Iella smiled as Camellia spoke. Her suggestion precisely what the Silver Jedi required and well within their capacity to purchase. Her eyes flicked over to Vladimir, still the man seemed to lack the ability to look her in the eye. However, did not mind. But there was a look on his face that spoke more words then he could verbalize of give message through eye contact.

Turning back to Camellia, she nodded in agreement. "The only thing I have to say on this Camellia is .. I hope you have a cold bottle of good Corellian Ale .. I think we have a deal.. If Ranger One Kirov is in agreement".

Iella was more then interested in the specs of the fighter .. that was more her preferred choice of ship. She loved them and now could not wait to get back in the seat of her old A-Wing.

[member="Vladimir Kirov"] [member="Iella E'ron"]

Camellia smiled as well as Iella showed one of her own, and then proceeded to ask for a bottle of celebratory ale. So, reaching down behind her desk where those across from her could not see, the young Captain and CEO removed a panel on the desk and revealed a miniature wine rack built into the woodwork. Selecting something Corellian and what she remembered hearing was good vintage, Camellia set the bottle on her desk as she pulled out several glasses from slots right next to the rack. "You're in luck, this desk was my grandfather's when he worked here. He had a taste for finer liquors and quality personal effects as he grew older and rose in position in life. Personally I don't know much about such tastes, I'm not much of a drinker at all. However, over this sale I'll gladly partake of some celebration with you both. We can begin construction as soon as I send the details to the dock supervisor. If you wish some of your engineers to work on the vessels to learn of their upkeep just send me a list of names with appropriate documentation and identification and we'll let them in once we process those."

With a slight nod of affirmation Vladimir gave indication the deal was good in his eyes. “I certainly agree, and the sooner we can get started on production the better.” He watched as their host dug around in her desk producing a bottle of Corellian Ale, he wasn’t much of a drinker either but he would drink a celebratory glass as a toast to a good business deal done.

Looking over at their host as she spoke he smiled slightly as he produced a datapad from his jacket pocket, names he had already prepared most of them Ranger engineers, a few of them Jedi not necessarily all of them with skill in engineering but all trustworthy long serving members of the Silver Jedi Order. Vladimir reached over and set it down on her desk to be reviewed as he responded. “I will have the rest of the documentation sent over immediately.” He tapped a few commands into a different datapad sending a signal back to the ship to prepare the appropriate records.

[member="Vladimir Kirov"] [member="Camellia Swift"]

Iella smiled, this deal will strengthen not only the Rangers, but the Order and that was what they needed to protect the galaxy. Soon that day will come, much destruction already with the One Sith encroaching it was only a matter of time before they are called upon. At least if their alliances with others hold. If not they would go forward themselves and work to better the galaxy. The republic are loosing their grip on providing peace for the worlds under their control, this did not bode well and Iella would not sit back and watch. If the republic did not call for them to come aid them .. then there was nothing much she could do about it.

But the Silver Jedi can act alone and will.

She took but a sip of her drink, normally she would have loved every mouthful but there is a bitter taste in her mouth with rumors of more insurgents from the Sith. "I would like to see your berths after this is finalised. We still have much work to do in order to command a healthy position when we need to fight for justice".

"I commend you Camellia .. not only for your knowledge on ships, but for your allegiences to those that wish for a better freedom within our galaxy".

[member="Vladimir Kirov"] [member="Iella E'ron"]

"Very well, we can begin construction and preparation of the vessels once the transaction is finalized and documented. Likely that means the parts needed and the work can be planned out before the evening shift is up if we get to it." Smiling, Camellia took the documents Vladimir offered to her and looked over them briefly as she sipped her own drink and listened to the Silver Jedi Master ask about seeing the berths in the construction sections and commented on her willingness to work with the Silver Order. Honestly as long as someone wasn't a criminal, Sith, or absolute scum then Camellia felt inclined to do business with them. Nuetral worlds and fellow Republic worlds with their own Defense Fleets, like Rendili, would need ships to defend themselves, as would various corporations and traders who don't have the capacity to produce their own vessels. To keep people safe from pirates and invaders was her primary object, after ensuring Rendili's growth, prosperity, and safety that is.

"We can certainly see the berths right now. I have appropriate forms prepared already that merely require the transaction information and your personal signing. I appreciate your praise as well, however I am merely doing what I see is best for the company and for my homeworld itself. I do agree, you'll never find our designs being sold to the Sith, Criminal organizations, or the enemies of Rendili or its allies." Assuming the forms were indeed filled and signed once Camellia mentioned them and handed them over, the Rendili Stardrive CEO and Home Defense Fleet Captain would set down her glass and motion her clients and guests to follow her through the station until they would come to a bustling section of the station where outside a Dreadnought Cruiser Class II was within a construction frame, workers in vacuum protected suits hovering over the hull as robotic limbs lifted sections into place, inspecting that everything was put into place and that before and after a section of the hull was covered whatever systems would be protected beneath the layer of Durasteel plating was secured and in appropriate place.
