STRENGTHS

• Killing Blow: The main guns of the Silencer-class can knock out or obliterate heavy capital ships and ground-based fortresses.
  
  
• Rear Line: The extreme range of the main guns and advanced targeting and sensory array allow the Silencer-class to operate well out of the range of most other weapon types.

WEAKNESSES

• Reactor Bulge: A supersized reactor is required to power the main guns, creating a highly visible reactor bulge on the ventral side. Though defended by shields and armor, a well-placed, high-yield attack can disable or destroy the ship.
  
  
• Single Purpose: The Silencer-class lacks any kind of offensive armament besides its twin artillery cannons, and its light complement offers minimal support.
  
  
• Vulnerable: While speed is unnecessary due to the operational range, the Silencer-class is incapable of outrunning an ambush, and lacks the armament to counter capital ships in knife-fight range.

DESCRIPTION

Based on the Onager-class Star Destroyer of old, the Silencer-class occupies a similar role. However, unlike its spiritual predecessor, the Silencer-class has replaced the costly superweapon lasers with a pair of specialized hypervelocity guns fittingly named the Silencer-type Artillery Cannon - a weapon developed in secrecy by Arage Bao’s regime on Humbarine.

While not as powerful as the warship it is based on, the Silencer-class can be manufactured in greater numbers, capable of forming ‘siege lines’ to massacre vulnerable fleets or bombard fortified installations both in orbit and on the ground. A pair of hangars - housing two squadrons each - can be found on either side of the class’s distinctive hammerhead, providing the Silencer with a limited complement of small craft.

Although fearsome in its intended role, the Silencer-class is equipped with very hungry guns, hampering its top speed and limiting its offensive armament to just the pair of artillery cannons. To offset these glaring weaknesses, the Silencer-class comes heavily armored, well-shielded, and armed with point-defense cannons and other defensive countermeasures. Still, the Silencer-class should be defended by an escort of anti-starfighter frigates and cruisers to counter swarm tactics or enemy flanking maneuvers.
