The Sidious-Class Assault Carrier is the first dedicated carrier that the New Order has created. The design is a combination of standard star destroyers that have been fused with ancient Sith architecture and even some Graug influence. The ship's design puts the craft's hanger bay in the oddly shaped disk portion of the underbelly with its entrance/exit point in the forward most part of it and facing the front of the ship. The reason for this design is to allow ships more cover as they exit the Star Destroyer and make it more difficult for enemy craft to infiltrate the ship as the entrance requires odd maneuvering to enter.
The highly irregular design is meant to give the ship a foreign and very sleek look, making it more fearsome through the simple unfamiliarity of its design. It is this mystic fear that it is meant to instill that rewarded this ship with the name of one of the most mysterious and powerful Sith Lords of all time. Aside from its unusual appearance, the carrier also comes with the benefit of housing dozens of walker barges and three prefabricated bases that can be easily deployed for occupations and invasions.
