ADVANCED SYSTEMS

Stygium Cloaking Device

STRENGTHS

Tinker, Tailor, Hunter-Killer: The Sicarius-Class was purpose built for ambushes, hit and run tactics, and preying on enemy supply lines. A role it excels in.
Chasing The Prey Down: SLAM drive massively boosts the Sicarius-Class’ speed for short periods, allowing it to chase down smaller vessels or even make a quick exit should the need arise.
Ghost Ship: The Sicarius-Class features an integrated cloaking device that allows it to effectively turn invisible and avoid sensors for a short period of time. Additional components, such as a Gravitic Amplitude Modulator and a Mag-Field Generator, have been installed to mitigate some of the cloak’s shortcomings and further enhance the element of stealth it provides.

WEAKNESSES
Big Fish Seeks Small Pond: Possessing only average defences, the Sicarius-Class is not designed for slugfests or prolonged engagements with more meatier vessels. The underbelly hangar bay in particular presents a very tempting target due to the proximity to the vessels’ primary generator, allowing a well placed, concentrated salvo to effectively cripple the vessel.
Danger Zone: SLAM Drive consumes an immense amount of power while active, causing several weapon systems to shutdown and require a 90 second reboot once disengaged.

DESCRIPTION

A predator of the hyperlanes, the Sicarius-Class is another very select, limited production run item from Kuat Drive Yards focused around using stealth and subterfuge to harass and harry the enemy. Preying on supply lanes and smaller vessels, these vessels appear out of nowhere and strike without warning before melting away into the cosmic gloom, vanishing ahead of any counter attack can be mounted. Pirates in the hands of some, privateers in others, the Sicarius-Class’ ability to disrupt the enemy is almost second to none.
Armed with heavy batteries of blistering plasma railguns and scorching solar ionization cannons, they are perfect for whittling away at the enemy with each pass, cracking even the toughest of defenses over time. Switching to the ion cannons and null-burst projectors when they wish to take a prize alive and relatively intact. Quickly dancing out of range with those high performance engines when a battle threatens to turn against them or a prospective quarry attempts to slip away.
As mentioned, however, stealth is the real strength of this class. Equipped with cloaking, sensor baffling and comm jamming technology, the enemy rarely notices it coming until it is simply too late. It even possesses the ability to alter its visual and sensor appearance, making it ideal for false flag operations or lurking in the midst of civilian fleets like a vask-wolf in errop's clothing.
