Private Siblings Of The Void

"Dear kin, you know why I am here."

The Elder took a step within the room, finding a seat within. He slowly settled himself down, relaxing into the cushion. He was ever dressed the beggar, the humble man that he certainly wasn't on the inside. He kept a calm smile, ever the picture of serenity. Ever the hypocrite. "We've seen it. The birth of more of our kin. We are in a position to truly tip the balance. Rip our way into this galaxy, or just bring the galaxy to us. Both paths work well, in my opinion."

He reached a hand out, taking up a glass to sip at.

"Shall we work together?"

Vaelithra could smell the void here. The scent reminded her of a sweet metallic rose.

A lingering heat swept through the chamber for a moment before the old man sat. Another of her kind made it from the other side. This was promising, but something deep within her provided caution..for a split second. Curiosity struck the heretic and as the elder spoke, she pondered on how many more had made the journey.

The Hollow Saint herself had only made two more doors in the time she gained her freedom. However, the poor souls that fell victim to her antics and bargained their lives away as servants was another story.

If more of her own were coming from parts of the nether it could only mean one thing…

It was time

Delicately, Vaelithra stepped out of the swallowing darkness. Her twisted porcelain skin bearing a stitched mouth and violet eyes. Her white silk gown smoothed out her midsection and covered her arm in a lighter fabric making it difficult to see where her arm started and ended. On the opposite was a mechanical fused arm with flesh and organic tube-like tendrils. Most disturbing was the cleavage area, ripped open slightly by boned teeth and an alluring void that subtly glistened like stars in the night sky.

The words of Hatred Hatred filled her with amusement. Then a shred of conflicted dread. Her eyes widened at his words.

"Shall we work together?"

Strange, most from her domain didn't get along, yet, this ancient being was asking for something unheard of for Nether Devils.

Work together?

She looked around before her mouth struggled to open. A small thread of stitching popped loose, then another, until she broke her disturbing silence.

“Intriguing!” Her voice elevated, carrying a sinister growl. “I could help, but what's in it for me?”

Her right eye seemed to almost glow as an idea struck her. She had never bargained with other devils before.

“How about a deal?” She asked, the voice of a young woman slipping out like a loud whisper.

Then for the first time in a long time Vaelithra wickedly smiled.

"A deal, is it?" Amusement filled Hatred's gaze. He truly loved deals. Even now, his current host's deal was being honored. To find such a willing and truly spiteful soul was a rare treat. She was no different. To find their hosts was such a wonderful boon. How often had they the chance to speak here in the galaxy, face to face?

"That depends on what you want, my dear kin. What I want is simple. The galaxy destroyed. Wounds ripped so large in the Force that more of us exist. A wound so large that it opens the way. All these souls funneled to us." He sipped his glass of water, idly staring down into the liquid. It had no taste, but it was soothing on the Elder's throat.

Hatred set the glass down as the water boiled out.

"What is it you would want?"

Vaelithra's stitches snapped again as her threaded mouth curled upward. Thick fabric the size of shoelaces hanging loosely around her lipless mouth.

"That depends on what you want,"

Her eyes shined with erratic excitement, the deep purple hues in her eyes almost darkening in response. Before she could answer, he continued.

"What I want is simple. The galaxy destroyed. Wounds ripped so large in the Force that more of us exist."

A slight exhaustive gasp reached her. His words were both wonderful and concerning. Of course she wanted more Nether Devils to reign supreme in this realm. Another taught string was struck when he spoke of destroying the very plane they now existed. The amount of rigorous work it took to finally find a host and step into this gorgeous new world meant endless possibilities. In truth, destruction would follow, but the last thing the First Heretic wanted was another chaos domain sweeping through the galaxy and making it just like home.

No, that wasn't what this was all about. This was about finding ways to stay, while keeping the best parts the galaxy had to offer them. No longer did Vaelithra want to go back to the downtrodden silence of the rift. Sure, she coveted the darkness like a warm blanket in a snowstorm, but this had to be done correctly.

For Vaelithra, creating more doors and influence of her domain was paramount. Creating more servants of grotesque monsters was the start of her own army in service of the rift. The more there were the more powerful she would become. Ripping a hole through reality and watching the galaxy bleed is something she always wanted. The only question was...

How?

She looked at the Devil before her, she could sense his dormant rush of power. Then as if everything in her being was stripped away, his words fell softly into the air between.

"What is it you would want?"

A shudder of pleasure filled her and her chest slightly twitched as the rigid cartilage crunched.

"It seems we want many of the same things, just in a different way." She paused, looking down and into the shadows behind her. Out of them came two monstrosities. Each one mixed and matched with Flesh, Bone, Metal, Organs and unstable machinations tied throughout. Sacs of pulsating energy rising to their backs as them took deep breaths and drooled along the floor. Teeth the size of a gorilla and muscular arms that could tear through a stone wall. They growled before approaching.

"An army, first, then maybe we can bargain." She looked at Hatred Hatred and considered everything up until this point. He was promising more rifts, more Devils, and destruction.

She patted the hunched over monster next to her and lightly laughed.

"So, what's the plan?"

m77Avzv.png

"An army?" Hatred paused in thought. He glanced to the steam trapped now within the glass, idly toying with the rim. Sensation through his fingers, touch. Biology was certainly so fascinating.

"This galaxy is plagued by war between Sith and Jedi. Imperials and Mandalorians. They are the constant. But the average person, they have no choice but to lower their heads. Our army will be them. We give them power. Not as hosts, but as servants. We find what will strengthen them, and offer them rhe strength go fight and kill. Manipulate them into fighting against the order they've been forced to serve under. What do you think?"

"The weak..." Her voice cracked and out came a deep grumble. "They need us. Like we need them."

She looked at the glass, steam slowly rising to the top of the rim as she waited and listened. The snarling creatures to her left and right lightly taping on the tapestry below.

"Yes!" She answered almost hurriedly to his words about making the downtrodden their army. Using the souls here, to amass the very thing she would need to satisfy. "They all yearn for something. I can use that against them, make them taste their very own desires." Vaelithra felt joyful now, just thinking about the twisted outcome it could bring next. "But what the rift gives..."

She stepped closer, the light finally hitting her for the first real time.

"It takes!"

Hatred Hatred

m77Avzv.png

"That, at least, is part of my plan for an army. Whatever will bring the end, no matter how wild or untamable. So long as it seeks the end, it will be of use." His smile turned softer before he glanced to the beasts. Finally giving them notice as he reached a hand towards one.

"We can use these cults to give hosts to more of our kin. Frame it the right way, and they will even kill each other for the right. I do so hope they will take up the gifts we can prepare. Perhaps even Csilla's born will show interest."

"The End."

She watched as the elder reached for her creations. The rift had given them everything they wanted and more, now to only be servants of the very woman alongside them. The pain they must have felt while changing into whatever the rift demanded lingered on Vaelithra's mind. For her, at least now, it made her smile. Although some parts of her old self almost felt sad, but the emotion never showed. It was too weak, too guilt ridden to overtake the Nether Devil's influence. Far too gone to even bother to fight, so, smile she did.

"We will make them all realize the borrowed time they've been living on." Her voice was cold and stern this time. "The unfiltered greed has become them. It will be their total downfall. Before they know it, they will succumb to the very thing they hate."

She twirled around, her dress gown following in motion. The small white silky threads caressing the air. The rift creatures before her did not even bother biting. Instead, a groaning form of agony escaped one of them as Hatred Hatred went to touch.

"Death."

Vaelithra stopped her display of twisting and faced the devil before her.

"They will have no soul," The hollow saint lurched closer to the old man now. Almost touching noses. "and be grateful for it!"

The excitement in her voice stirred through the chamber like a vicious hunger.

Then her face went wooden, devoid of all emotion.

m77Avzv.png

Hatred's eyes drifted to the creature for a moment. Delight had filled his eyes. Hatred. He could feel all that hate born from the unending pain they suffered. That every moment was agony. He was amused. Very amused. Calmly he turned his gaze back to his kin, even as she got right into his face. "Their soul will be ours. I so look forward to what they will do. How twisted they will become. Hatred is such a human emotion, and one that brings about such drastic change."

Her body tensed as Hatred Hatred switched his attention back to her. She could sense his amusement. There was nothing like the raw emotion of hatred. The elder was right. The ancient beast within the frail old man in front of her almost peered into her soul given their distance. Still, there was another emotion. One that could take hold like an illness and never leave...

"Despair." Vaelithra spoke it gently as she leaned over the elders shoulder and whispered the word into his ear. "When they are so drained of their hatred and desire for conflict, the only thing left behind will be their cold, heavy sadness." She stepped back now, spacing herself to give the elder more room.

"The best part, they won't even fight it." She shifted her lavender eyes to the side. She stared into the darkness of the outer edges of the room. Focused and stiff, until she looked back to the old man.

"They will do what they always do..." She paused, her stitching popping again as she smiled.

"Beg for it."

"Despair and Hatred, hand in hand." There was a chuckle from the Elder before he leaned comfortably back in his seat to watch his kin. He tilted his head, curiosity filling his eyes now as she stared off into nothing for a moment. "Have you been in your vessel for too long? You seem to take moments to reset. Perhaps the mind within is starting to crumble?"

Vaelithra tilted her head to the side, her expression almost confused.

"Too long, maybe." She hesitated, unsure of how much to tell him.

"You don't see them?" She stopped, her mechanized arm reaching upward toward her mouth. She covered it in shock as the wired tubes filtered a liquid crimson into her. Her eyes widened upon realization. "I can see and hear them. Tiny microscopic fluids of intangible forces around us. Disruptions in reality." Vaelithra spoke of the force, rifts and anything connected to the greater forces at work in the galaxy.

"Do you not have this gift?"

She removed her hand, the stitches on her face completely loose. Sharp jagged teeth were revealed with a thick black tongue behind them. Unnatural in every way, yet, thriving in the heat of the moment.

Now that was curious. For the first time the Elder took a glance around, searching for what was mentioned. He did not see them, however. Perhaps because he couldn't, or perhaps because they didn't exist. Either way he was unbothered. "I do not. Perhaps your time here has allowed you to attune in a way I simply have not. This vessel is truly one of a kind for me after all."

He'd taken to giving his power to those truly full of hate, but they were never the kind that could handle his direct possession.

"I wonder what use that might have. Weaknesses in the fabric of reality so we might be able to find holes to punch, perhaps?"

The possession of a host had given the Nether Devil a new life. A chance to exist beyond what the rift could offer. There was little that could make Vaelithra go back, unless it was absolutely necessary. Still, there were issues with vessels like her own. In time, as Hatred Hatred mentioned, there would be little left to sustain. The crumbling fractures of the soul and weakened physicality meant time was always against them.

Parts of the First Heretic had manifested beautifully, while her true form had yet to awaken in the borrowed world she stood in now. All the living and breathing souls in the galaxy were living lies. Complacent in the way things were. However, the Nether could twist and infect the very nature of their comfort in ways that would make a god squeal.

"Your host." Vaelithra smirked. "It's exceptional, only was their a soul upon contact?"

The Hollow Saint was genuinely curious. She had gotten lucky, taking over the grieving woman in a time of war with a soul still intact. It's probably how Vaelithra was able to keep control. The sweet source of energy the soul could provide would last her beyond the year mark. Something that was rare in the grand scheme of things.

"I think we can utilize it in such a way, yes. I have not tried Elder." She looked at her creations one last time. They snarled and licked the air with an anxious hunger. "I've been able to detect ripples in some of these disruptions. Ones that almost feel tied to other powers. Not of my own."

She looked back to the old man.

"Maybe, we should begin?" Vaelithra was eager to get to work. "You can call me, Vaelithra."

There was silence between them for a few seconds, like an empty tide of hate and despair coalescing into the perfect recipe for disaster.

"And you?"

m77Avzv.png

"Their soul had reached out to me, in truth. I know not how, but I do know why." To make a deal, of course. That was always the reason any reached out on their own, whether they were aware of it or not. To begin, though. The Elder's smile widened that much more before he nodded his head in agreement. Why wait? Why delay?

"The only true name I have is Hatred. I suppose that would be the best to refer to me as."

The name hung in the air, its twisted accuracy sending a shiver down her bones. Even looking at the frail old man before her, Vaelithra could sense the boiling emotion underneath. It was in his very gaze, his confident stature and most of all his heart.

Hatred...

Her mind searched for the last time she felt such a disgust for anything and everything. Part of her could feel her own hatred, residing beneath the very core of her existence. She hated that the rift kept her from such a large universe. She hated the way all the lives in it had the free will to enjoy and not suffer. She hated...

herself.

The very element of her creation stemmed from a tragic past, yet, there was still hatred for what they did. What she had become and most of all what they took from her.

"I too had someone step through into our plane. Their grief was powerful, but even now I can sense the souls hatred."

She fixed her head straight, her head no longer tilting in a unnatural way.

"Hatred, its very fitting." Her tone was almost playful now. There was something special about the elder, something subtle that seemed to turn the room cold.

"Isn't it a beautiful thing?" She laughed wickedly, a stretching threaded smile creasing beyond the host's own limits of muscle.

"Beginnings..."

m77Avzv.png

"Unlike them, our beginnings were a brutal, hateful thing." There was an almost longing in his voice as he spoke of them. Of their very kin. Hatred kept the same smile, the same expression as he always did, but there was a different emotion in his gaze. Longing truly was the only word for it. They were so few, so rare. Having more of their kin, what could they do if there were more of them?

"So, we shall give them their end in the same way. A new beginning, and a final end for those who made us."

Vaelithra smirked, the beautifully crafted way he mentioned their own beginning was truthful. At the very start, part of the monstrosity that stood before the elder was no more than a grieving, weak, woman. Now she was much more. She was exactly what the rift wanted her to be. If not for the arduous claim to her coveted soul, she may have died of heartbreak. The loss of children was a fickle and unfortunate thing to experience. However, sometimes what you lose makes you that much

stronger.

"Yes, they deserve to be molded by our truth. An end," Vaelithra stepped into the dark corners of the room before she finished, barely visible.

"to it all."

m77Avzv.png

"Prepare yourself, dear kin. When the time arises, when our creators are ready to step on the Path, you will know." He watched her for just a moment before he himself stood. His hands folded behind his back again. Calm and collected as always. His hate was not a raging inferno, but a steady flame. One that would slowly but surely spread.

"i will leave you now, unless you had something you might want."
