Approved Armor Siae's Body Glove

DESCRIPTION
The body gloves, made by the members of the Conclave, were in effect the same as most thinsuits, incorporating the same design and technology as those used elsewhere in the galaxy, save that they incorporated the use of Umbaran spiders' silk in them, giving them much the same character and qualities as 'shadowsuits' possessed. Snug-fitting, often worn over the simple undergarments that doubled as bathing togs that members of the Conclave adopted, they posed no inhibition to their movements or ability to wear them while engaged in physical activity. Lightweight and durable, the simple body gloves offered sound protection amid hostile environments, and were one of the first things that Padawans were shown to make for themselves, proven to be essential items in their usually modest inventory of equipment.

Covering the wearer's entire body save for their exposed face like other thinsuits, the body gloves protected them in temperatures ranging from -30 to 100 standard degrees, offering protection against wind and blowing sand or debris, and able to withstand moisture, be it humidity, perspiration, rain or snow, or even providing a barrier when submerged. They isolated the wearer's body, sealing in bodily odors and scent, and shielded them from ambient radiation, harmful chemicals and toxins in the air around them, and kept them free from contamination by bacteria, helping to ensure survivability – at least for a time – within hostile environments. Even isolated against pressure, they could serve as emergency EVA suits in a pinch, provided the wearer had the means to supply themselves with breathable air and to protect their otherwise exposed faces under such conditions, allowing them to survive without freezing in the vacuum of space for up to an hour's time!

The integration of micronized water reclamation systems throughout the inner layering of the suit enables the wearer to operate for long periods of time amidst hostile environments, wicking away sweat and recapturing moisture loss to provide potable drinking water, accessed using a cleverly concealed flexible drinking tube, stowed at the user's back. Likewise, a waste recycler allowed the user to evacuate their bowels without needing a refresher when necessary, enabling Siae to operate for several days as the miniaturized device collected and recycled solid waste for up three (3) days' time, before the catch pocket needed to be cleaned or swapped out. She carried an extra catch pocket liner for this device in one of the suit's pockets.

These suits, with their integrated weave of shell spider silk, protected the Conclave members from blaster bolts and other small arms energy weapons, enough to survive one or two direct hits anyway, and could deflect strikes with melee weapons, even vibro-weapons, in close combat. They resisted against cutting or tearing, against punctures and abrasions, and with proper care and upkeep, would last for many years before needing to be replaced. Certainly not ideal as a stand-alone battle armor, they still provided their wearers with a measure of confidence they could, if necessary, walk away from a violent situation relatively unscathed, even as the concussive absorbing material padding key points would protect them from falls and impacts.

SPECIAL FEATURES

• Custom-Tailored: Form-fitting, the garment is light-weight, allowing for maximal range of motion without encumbrance to its owner.
• Environmental Protection: Offers exceptional protection against moisture and humidity, a wide range of ambient temperatures; abrasions, cuts, tears, and punctures; dangerous radiation (e.g., UV, ambient radioactivity, etc.); acids and other corrosive chemicals and substances; ambient pressures (able to act as an emergency EVA suit or operate as a diving suit); and, against airborne biological toxins and pathogens. • Passive Stealth: Sound-and-light-absorbing materials baffle the sounds of movement and action, offering excellent passive stealth capabilities.
• Basic Combat Protection: Offering protection against small arms blaster-fire (and similar energy weapons) as well as against melee weapons (including vibro-weapons) and general concussive damage (e.g., falls, concussive strikes, shrapnel and debris, etc.).
• Water Reclamation System: Often popular with scouts and explorers, water reclamation systems were not uncommon throughout the galaxy, made by a wide number of companies, and the Conclave integrated this technology into their body gloves. Wicking away sweat from the skin, this moisture is then filtered into potable water, collected into a network of small tubes and catch pockets within the suit. Often, this same technology is included in the facemasks worn by member of the Conclave as well to capture moisture lost from the mouth or nose. This can then be drunk, using a specially concealed drinking tube, hidden at the wearer's back. This enables for extended forays into wilderness areas without fear of dehydration.

STRENGTHS

• Solid, Field-Tested Protection: For centuries, thinsuits have proven their worth in a variety of rugged, hostile environments and situations, offering good all-around protection to their wearers, and the body gloves used by members of the Conclave are no different. Able to guard against a number of environmental threats and offering strong resilience against several weapons types, these suits have a proven track record of enhancing survivability under duress.
• Stealth Enhancement: Offering passive stealth enhancement, the body glove enables users to move with exceptional quiet and avoid conspicuous visual detection, blending into their backgrounds and thriving in low-light conditions. Additionally, it seals in body odors, and prevents the user from being easily tracked or detected by their scent.
• Custom-Fit: Made by and for a single owner, the suit is sewn to fit like a second skin, yet the stretchy material, omnistretch reinforced stitching, and snug-fit doesn't inhibit the user's range of motion, while the lightweight, all-environment nature of it ensures long-term wearability.

WEAKNESSES

• Proprietary: This suit is made by and for only person, and therefore is likely to not fit well when used by others – unless that person is similar in height, build, weight, and proportion to the maker/owner – and thus, even if another might fit into it, it likely will not provide the same comfort, ease of motion, or functionality as it will for them.
• Not a Battle-Suit: While the suit provides excellent protections against hand-held blaster-type weapons and melee weapons (even vibro-weapons), as well as against some kinetic damage, it is by no means the same as a full suit of powered battle armor. It won't take beyond a few direct hits, basic impacts or falls (up to about 6m height), nor can it offer any protection against heavier crew-serve or vehicle-borne weapons, direct explosive strikes, or other serious threats.
• Limited Stealth Capabilities: The suit offers passive stealth enhancement only. The user can still be detected by most advanced or military-grade scanners, vehicle-borne sensors, and even through careful visual or audio detection – especially by species with exceptional senses.
