DESCRIPTION

Inspired by the Specter-series Microbe Armor commissioned by the Joint Security initiative of the Confederacy of Independent Systems, the Shrouded Armor is a suit designed to assist members of the Illuminati in their stealth-centric ventures. Composed primarily of Armorweave laced with Photoreactive Fibers, the entirety of the suit appears black by default and fits the body of its wearer like a second skin. However, when exposed to various levels of light, the aforementioned fibers react by blending the wearer in with his or her surroundings; effectively increasing their overall stealth capabilities. Intentionally lightweight by design, the Shrouded Armor also incorporates plates of armorplast that are arranged underneath armorweave pockets and slots. Through this, the suit affords its wearer a moderate degree of protection against blaster bolts.

However, due to the lightness of the suit and its low number of plates, the defensive capabilities of the Shrouded Armor pales in comparison to conventional armors; such as the main Templar Armor. As such, the wearer must exercise extreme caution whilst engaging enemy opponents, for the armor will not protect them against lightsabers, concussive forces, or other dangers that most armors will.

My only issue with this armor is conceptual. Photoreactive fibers may be able to blend the suit with ambient levels of light, but virtually all scenarios of use involve surroundings with variable colors, light levels, and so forth. A photoreactive fiber would match the aggregate of what is in front of it, but not what is behind it, making it, at best, a suit whose front turns greenish when green things are in front of it and brownish when brown things are in front of it. This would make its stealth capabilities a true wild card, varying moment to moment and uncontrollable by the wearer -- situational camouflage pattern programming would be vastly better.

@[member="Isley Verd"] - All stealth submissions require a development thread. As every source which mentions photoreactive fibers is game tech, I strongly suggest you take the opportunity to use that development thread to flesh out how this might operate, and to do some research on real-world equivalents, if any.

Or I could approve it after a basic dev thread, and it would be the most unreliable chameleon suit ever made. Your call.
