DETAILED SPECIAL FEATURES
-Self-recharging power cell-Incorporated to prevent the need to constaantly switch out power cells and gas canisters in a firefight. However there is a downside, it takes time for the charge to build up once it is used(30 second down time)

-Range-The range is equivalent at optimum to that of a Z-6 rotary cannon, this was done through the use of advanced galven circuitry, but is still less than half that of most blaster rifles on the market, and the maximum range is less than half of an equivalent blaster

-Faraday Cage-There to protect the powercell from being overloaded and exploding or completely fried

-Dallorian alloy barrel coating-Helps with heat build up, however the barrels need a moment to cool down between firings still, even then after three drum mags worth of rounds they need to cool down for at least 30 seconds due to the rate of fire.

-Phrik construction-It's going to take more than a lucky shot to make this go boom. This also helped to reduce the over all weight to something more manageable.

-HUD link- Sensors near the barrel of the weapon allow the user to maintain awareness of the heat levels of the weapon as well as keep tabs on power levels. If a sight is equipped it will also provide shot tracking data to help maintain what little accuracy there is.

Strengths:
-Self-recharging power cell- This allows the operator to focus on managing heat levels and means they need only to replace the gas canister during a firefight(30 second recharge per 3 gas canisters).

-Made from phrik-This keep the weight of the weapon from getting too high and grants it a high level of lightsaber resistance, though it is still not exactly what one would call light.

-Faraday cage- Insulates the weapon from ion/emp attacks.

-Dallorian alloy heat sink/barrel coating- Allows the weapon to only need to cooldown after burning through 3 full magazines.

-HUD link-Allows the user to keep tabs on the vitals of the weapon(mostly heat levels and power charge left) and track the spread of shots when a sight is equipped.

Weaknesses :
-Cumbersome-at 85 centimeters in length this is not a weapon for covert missions. This was made to tear through opposition and make sure they didnt get back up.

-Heavy-Even though it is almost completely phrik in construction(with only heatsinks and the barrels having dallorian alloy components) it still comes in at 8 kilograms once all is said and done. This is also contributed to by the self-recharging power cell, but was deemed a worthwhile sacrifice for the firepower.

-Ammo capacity- Each drum magazine contains enough blaster gas for 64 shots total. Even the power cell will only last through 3 magazines total before needing 30 seconds to fully recharge. This equates to about a second of firepower total per gas canister.

-Kick- This weapon kicks like a mule. Downrange anything near the target will likely want to take cover as well due to the spread, keeping it on target when the recoil is figured in is a very difficult prospect, maybe not impossible, but very unlikely even for a seasoned marksman.

-Cooldown- 30 seconds for a cooldown and recharge is an eternity on the battlefield.

DESCRIPTION
The 'Shriek-Hawk' rotary particle beam cannon is a terrrifying creation from a man who many have long considered less than all there mentally, Kurayami Bloodborn. The name is due to the shrill sound of the gun when its 8 barrels are spinning. While he has utilized a DC-17m for many years he has come to take note of the limitations of the weapon in a few situations which he has found himself in. Phrik was chosen for the construction to save some weight as well as provide an extreme amount of durability including lightsaber resistance. The barrels and heatsinks are coated in dallorian alloy to help with cooling. A faraday cage is included to insulate the weapon against ion and EMP based weaponry, useful when an overload could lead to a less than controlled detonation.

This lead to him working on designing himself a new primary weapon, one which came with its own tradeoffs, such as being quite a bit heavier, but trading for brute force. This weapon is not made for stealth in any sense of the word, it is cumbersome, has a less than stellar range when compared to many blaster rifles or other rotary blaster cannons. However, it does include 8 barrels with which to deliver its payload. 64 bolts per second sounded great on paper, but when it came down to it that meant drum mags, not known to be the easiest to carry into battle. Each one holds enough blaster gas for 64 full powered shots, one second of fire before needing to be replaced.

The recoil inherent in rotary cannons is very prevalent herein as well, in spades. If you don't mind destroying everything in a wide area of your target then by all means see how many poor birds you take out in a single one second long sustained fire burst. It won't be pretty. Also due to the rate of fire, this weapon tends to overheat quite quickly. 3 magazines is not only the limit of the power cell before needing a 30 second recharge time, but was also designed to be the time when the weapon would need to be given at least as much time to cool before being fired again. Failure to do so would warp the barrels beyond use, and as such the weapon cannot be utilized until the battery has fully recharged to prevent accidental warping of the barrels or worse in combat.
