  Bayaz was born on the forest world of Trosk under the Empire. When the Chiss Reclamationists attacked from the Redoubt Cluster, the Empire enforced heavy penalties on its Chiss population. He was separated from his parents and thrown into Chiss internment camps by Imperial Decree. Afraid and alone it was there he was found by Tris, a Reclamationist. She cared for the young boy and kept him safe from the cutthroat nature of their new home on Niruan. When she revealed herself to be an agent of the Chiss Ascendency and freed her camp, she led Bayaz to safety in the Chiss Ascendency.

  Now safe in a Chiss refugee camp in the Core Worlds of the Galactic Alliance, Bayaz was able to grow up with some stability in an orphanage. Tris came by from time to time as her assignments allowed and when he became of age she asked him to return with her to the Chiss Ascendency. There she convinced him to join the Warrior Corps of the Expansionary Defense Forces. He didn't know then, but from then on he was under strict surveillance. After graduating he was approached by Tris and a shady-looking officer to join their new program for promising cadets.
  
  

  

  
  
  PROJECT CHIMERA
  Months of brutal training and drilling left Bayaz with an impressive set of skills for infiltrating and manipulation. As part of Project Chimera he was tasked with infiltrating the Galactic Alliance military. Though they had been allies throughout the war with the Brotherhood, the Expansionary Defense Fleet needed someone on the inside to maintain a watchful eye on their would-be-allies just in case. He was to learn their strengths, their weaknesses, and above all else further Chiss-Alliance relations. This last part was the official reason for his transfer to an Alliance Military academy through a common Chiss-Alliance exchange program. He would use his time as part of the Chiss Warrior Corps to lead a unit of Alliance Marines in the 222nd's 22nd Armored Division "Tin Man" Company.
