Kesh
Royal Palace

Taeli sat in the conference room she had commandeered from Solan in his palace on Kesh, her foot tapping as she read over her datapad. The disbelief she felt at the fact that ten kilometers of ships from the Galactic Republic had been stolen was bad enough, but to hear that the commander of those ships had been a pirate and he had been given command regardless was staggering to her. She could only imagine the fires being lit at Republic High Command about the incident, and she knew pink slips were being handed out to people for whoever thought it was a great idea to hire the man.

Still... there was opportunity in the misfortune of the Republic, and she could turn it to her advantage in her dealings with them. Through Solan, she had arranged a meeting on Kesh with [member="Aedan Miles"] to discuss buying some of his ill-gotten ships. Getting a hold of some of those ships, even if only a few, would be a corporate coup in a sense. How often did such an opportunity arise such as this to study the competition's products and then reverse engineer what was deemed significant.

So, she would wait for the pirate she met only once before, and ponder what would be exchanged at this table today. Just to be safe, Directorate marines were on standby, and Taeli did have her lightsabers on her. It paid to always be wary of dealing with pirates.

Aedan Miles walked in shortly after she had been seated yawning a bit as he stretched wearing what appeared to pass as cargo shorts and a sleeveless top a black elbow length fingerless glove on his right arm his left arm left bare to reveal the tattoo that his forces used a coffin with a Dragon skull over it. He looked around sensing the forces nearby in the force the various personal he chuckled and bowed to her before pulling a seat out and sitting calmly. "Sorry I am late Mrs. Raaf I was working with an contractor to design my new home here on Kesh. What is it I can do for you today?"

Taeli bit her tongue in correcting the honorific he used towards her, reminding herself... pirate. Business transaction. The informal dress of Aedan was also in stark contrast to the dress she wore, elegant light blue flowing down to the floor. His words about working with a contractor here and building a home on Kesh was making her a tad suspicious of what Solan was up to out here in Wild Space.

"I had heard you had recently acquired a significant chunk of Republic ships," she said, getting right to the point as she shifted in her seat to a more business-like manner. "I would be interested in acquiring some of the ships, for lack of a better term and in perfect bluntness, you stole from the Republic that trusted you. Price is no object, of course."

Aedan looks at her calmly and then shrugs sliding a data pad across the table that held a precise count of the ships he had acquired from the republic along with their armaments, fighter craft, and munitions. He leaned back and waited for her to look over the list his violet eyes gleaming as he half shut them. Most of the ships on that list weren't for sale like the Centurion-class and Salvation-class would not be given up Aedan had some ideas for two of those ships specifically. "Stole is the right word for it and I am not offended stealing from people is what I happen to do unless they stay on my good side than they are safe for the most part."

Taeli scanned the list, once again wondering how in the Seven Corellian Hells had someone in the Republic been this foolish. Some of these ships simply could not be replaced, such as the Tenloss frigate, or were exceptionally powerful and useful ships. Still, she noted what wasn't up for offer and scanned through what was. All totalled up, she was looking at purchasing about a third of what had been taken if measured in kilometers.

"I see," Taeli said, setting the datapad down. "I am interested in obtaining the Liberation, the Altier, the Resolute, and the Valiance you... procured... along with their full compliment of fighter and bomber crafts."

The armaments and munitions weren't as big a deal to her as she and Aurora could replace all of that, and the pirate would probably find more use for them in the long run than she would. The Republic would be after him soon enough for this crime and humiliation.

Aedan listened to her list of ships most of them had their uses but he could easily replace them from various companies he bought from. Nodding his head slowly Aedan looked at the list muttering a few things to himself before leaning back a small grin crossing his lips lightly as he gestured. "Tell it like it is ma'am. I stole those ships. But yes the first three I can sell you for credits the last one I will not sell for mere credits that ship has use to me while not preferred. I would be willing to trade it for a ship from your company though. One of those Procursator MK-X i have heard rumor of. The fighter craft and bomber craft of course come with those ships as to the credit cost for the first three the Altier can go for 100K the other two will be 200K credits each. I assume this is within your expectations?"

Taeli blinked for a moment, wondering about the prices but decided she wouldn't object. Pulling out her own datapad, she brought up the necessary funds and one of her Star Destroyers. Her finger hovered over the button... lost in thought... and then she hit the keystrokes that would prepare the transfer.

"I believe we have a deal then," Taeli said, sliding her datapad over to him so he could input whatever account he wanted the funds transferred to. "The ship will be delivered here to Kesh and then you may take it wherever your heart so desires... as long as the ships I am purchasing our brought here. I will have crews take them on in their journey. Not that I don't trust you or your men... but I don't trust you or your men. No offense meant, but pirates will be pirates."

He nods and makes a call calmly leaning back as he half closes his eyes gesturing lightly. "Your ships should arrive in the next three days I will probably be in contact about farther purchases for my forces from your company later on but if that is all for now I will be off to work on finishing my island home."

"I shall see if we can accommodate your future interests in doing business," Taeli responded, her words a clear indication that the meeting was over. An island home though... well each to their own... but Taeli just would find that an unnecessary use of wealth. So much history was still out there that could be recovered and preserved, so many more expeditions and such to mount. That was far more useful use of wealth than building extravagant homes on islands. Then again... she looked around the conference room and sighed internally as Solan had built a palace after all.
