Shiraya's Sanctuary, a story set in the High Republic.
' The Defector '

~

The Ufo stands as an anomaly amid the tranquillity and peace personified by the sanctuary it had dared to land upon. When the Order of Shiraya had constructed this place it had been done so with the intent of keeping it safe and hidden for the Jedi who trained or lived here away from those who would do them harm. Yet, the unidentified flying object (which had been picked up by long-range satellites entering the Naboo system) could not deliver it's telemetry, heading or course in time to scramble someone-- anyone-- to intercept it before whatever it was disappeared somewhere in a region sparsely populated save for a few Gungan settlements dotted across the land. No civilisation out there, it would seem.

Geography, shield generators, or Force cloaks were not enough to prevent the incursion for the object was too fast, too imperceivably small to be tracked or followed by security forces belonging to the High Republic. It's flyer seemed to know where to land as well. There is something wrong there for Shiraya's Sanctuary is supposed to be a secret known only to the Jedi or by a few important figures in Theed. Naturally, someone would have warned the them about this intruder and where they were last seen before they inexplicably appeared to land within the sanctuary's landing pad with whoever was flying it knowing how to, somehow, navigate the paths which led to Shiraya. There were a lot of people out there who would do the Jedi harm. Age old conflicts all strewn and built over one another across the millennia. They could be forgiven for thinking the worse for the dark-side seems to have spread everywhere. Criminal cartels, syndicates, Sith orders and covenants, Imperial remnants... So many enemies out there among the stars. Pick your poison.

A astromech bleeps up hesitantly to the strange oval, lovecraftian vessel as it's mouth opens eerily quiet to bask the landing pad in artificial, white light. There is a commodity in coming home. To be back among your people where you are safe and protected. A fallen Jedi. As Her emerges from their UFO, to step foot into the sanctuary for the first time, she takes a moment to breathe in deeply. Fresh air assaults the senses for the first time in several weeks. Cartographers have long charted the lanes which connect the Mid Rim systems to the Outer Rim Territories and yet the lines upon the maps do not give you a real grasp of how far away Lianna is to Naboo until you've travelled the distance in person.

Too much time traversing the star ways in search of absolution, she fears...
