Shiny Things (Leigh)

Emberlene's Daughter, The Jedi Generalist
[member="Leigh"]

Matsu was moving as the padawan came back down and she didn't change her facial expression while bringing on hand out towards the creature while she brought her hands out and parted the roof of the cave letting the open sky appear. She was standing there as her one saber touched her hand with the silver hilt glowing as the lightside of the pulses and then the snap hiss as the silvery blue blade came to life as she held it. The solari and special crystal from obi-wan inside as a pontite crystal augmented her connection to the force that slowly made her stand there before she slid the disc off her hip. The twin z shaped hilts interlocked while she was slightly flicking her thumb along it. She could throw it and detach it while moving back and forward with it with a slash.

Out of the corner of his eye, he could see Matsu doing something with her lightsaber, he questioned the action, "why would she need to-"

"No. You can't concern yourself with what she is doing, stay focused, and land your hit," he reminded himself.

His body felt like a magnet as it came closer to the beckoning beast, with each passing millisecond he felt the confrontation become more intense. It was almost as if everything was being slowed down, but speeding up at the same time, it felt odd. And then, as if out of nowhere, he felt his blade sink into the creatures right shoulder. A loud and terrifying yelp erupted from the beast, Bellin pulled out his saber, jumped backwards, flipped in te air, and landed on his feet. He twirled his lightsaber around his body before extending his arm so that his saber could face the beast.

It cowered at the sword.

That was interesting...

Very interesting...

Matsu was watching and moving, her thoughts on the moment and both observing her padawan but also the creature to avoid striking him while the blade she was focused on and altered the damage. Willing it to be weaker and less of a blade but still able to strike and avoid damaging major organ's. Her strike came while she was moving to defend the padawan who was observing the beast backing away from the blade. Her attention still on for what they could do. "Why are you attacking us?" She raised her voice just a little bit with a look on her face while she was backing away with the saber in front of her as she let it flare back to full power.

This was surprising.

He never would have thought this would be possible.

It had happened right after his Master screamed at the creature, time seemed to stop after that, then, he heard it, a voice, dark and soothing, like a madman's lullaby. The voice echoed throughout what was left of the caved in crevice.

"Why?" The beast chuckled.

"Because you are Jedi, nasty, filthy, mouth breathing Jedi."

Bellin's eyes became large and terrifed.

He felt time stop for a moment.

Anger started to boil his blood, and he responded through gritted teeth.

"Then you are a creature of the Sith."

Matsu was looking at the creature and mostly drawing a blank... Because Massassi were extinct and even on Tantorus where the sith species had fled to in the unknown regions it was the priests and engineers that were kept. As well the padawan's anger had her deactivating the saber in her hand and placing in back. "I would not waste your emotion padawan, if this is a creature of the sith then it is alone and will forever be on a world full of jedi. It is more sad then anything." She was moving and motioning with her hand. "Come."

"Come? That is all you have to say to the boy? You Jedi filth treat your Apprentices like dogs!"

The mutated Massassi turned away from Matsu and looked at Bellin, who was attempting to stand his ground, with his blade in front of him.

"Child of the Force, do not waste your potential with these disgusting cretins, become more powerful, immerse yourself in the Dark Side, and be re-born!

The beast's words echoed.

Bellin turned to look at his Master, who was motioning to leave, then turned back to the grinning monster. He closed his eyes, deactivated his lightsaber, and walked over to his Master.

"Let's go."

The two turned their back to the Massassi then started to move forward, but halted when they heard the Sith animal speak again.

"Haven't you ever wondered what it would be like to free yourself from the Jedi Code? Have you not ever wished see true strength?"

Bellin turned his head, his eyes could barely be visible from the creature's view.

"No."

Bellin turned away to face the hole in the roof they planned on exiting through, then spoke again.

"True strength is knowing when to constrain yourself from using your power. You will never truly know what it means to be strong."

And with that, he jumped back onto the icy surface of Rhen Var, with Matsu in tow.

Matsu listened to the creature and raised an eyebrow while she walked stopping on the surface. Her hands extending out as she let the force dance off her skin shaping the rock and ice to seal the cavern. She turned looking at the padawan. "That was interesting but you held up well to standard taunts. Sadly most darksiders will never get beyond the idea of power and being stronger." She motioned forward and brushed her hair back allowing a few thoughts to remain while looking further up into the mountain while she was starting to walk up a winding path. Ice overgrown in arches until she reached the peak standing there with a smirk on her face. "Now up here we can train."

Bellin looked around. The area in which they were about to train had quite a view.

The entire landscape wrapped around the mountain, and in every direction Bellin looked, he could only see more. Big, jagged, icy hills, that rose from the Earth in the shapes of cones. They were all quite beautiful. He looked away from Matsu and stared at a particularly large one, it seemed so close...

FLASH.

Bellin was caught off guard by a blast of light, after blinking a few times and regaining his vision, he looked in the direction from where the surprise came from. He saw that the son was setting.

Well that was to be expected of anyway, the two had been in the icy depths for a while.

He closed his eyes and let the last warming rays of sunshine surround him. Slowly, it loosened its hold on him, and slipped away below the mountains, leaving only darkness in its wake. Bellin nodded, made a fist, then turned around to look at Matsu.

"Okay! Let's train!"

She was looking at him as he stood there and walking over as she spoke clasping her hands behind her back. The smirk was on her face though as she spoke. "It can be quite a sight and you are doing quite well, you handled yourself better in the situation presented then most would but I can promise most training won't always be that exciting." Matsu was looking at the horizon as she backed away a little. "And while I might be moving on to some sections of my own training I will leave you knowing plenty so you can handle it and I promise there will be a surprise incoming." She had some ideas about what to do but she was going to have it be after she searched and found what she was looking for. Slowly Matsu stood there before speaking. "So are you ready to continue?"

"Of course I am!"

Bellin turned to look at her, the relaxed demeanor that she was keeping had a calm, almost soothing presence that told him the trouble was over, and that all that was left was to do what they originally came to this planet to do, train. Bellin stared at Matsu with determination in his eyes.

"It might be awkward to say, but I've recognized the change in my opinion about you."

Bellin's eyes gleamed as the moon shined it's pale rays down on them.

"I originally thought you were some tough, badass Jedi that doesn't need another Padawan."

He turned to look at the moon, closed his eyes, and smiled.

"But now I see at you as my friend."

He then looked back at her.

"Alright! Enough with the sentiments, let's train! What should we do first?"

"There is much to being a jedi padawan but badass is not always needed. I am your friend always." She said it with a smile while standing with her hands behind her back, slowly she stepped to the side and allowed the ice to rise while it showed images in the surface. "One skill few jedi have tried to practice is the image. Ancient force users could use the surface to perceive the world around them and view at great distances. It is not a skill easily taught but the best way to learn it is as a padawan so you can practice, won't be flashy but with skill you can learn to see far more then others."

The Image.

This was an ability Bellin had never heard of before. He had spent countless hours reading in the library when he was just a Youngling, and still, there was something that he didn't even know before. He noticed that the universe was looking like a lot bigger than how his books described it.

Belin turned his attention back to Matsu and The Image.

"So, what exactly can I see with The Image? Planets? People? Please, tell me more, I'm really interested in this ability."

His eyes, enthusiasm, and face were all showing signs of enthusiasm, it almost radiated with a glow of possibility. He had just hoped it had come off that way, and not that he looked like an overexcited freak, that would be embarrassing. Although, he knew that Matsu was a kind woman, it wasn't in his head anymore, which was extremely comforting, especially since he was just getting to know the woman.

Maybe they would fight aside each other some day. Hopefully by then Bellin would be a Master like her.

Matsu was looking at him and the interest was on his face as she smiled. "You can see anything in a reflected surface. Those who become stronger can find ways to communicate through the surfaces but it is a hard thing to do." She was looking in the image to show the jedi temple and the ruins they had been working on. The construction was completed and the map rooms dome had been constructed while she held it. "You will need to first learn how to feel the world around you, to sense the slight vibrations of it to know when and where something is happening across the planet. THen you can search and seek it with the solid surface."

Well that was cryptic.

How could Bellin feel the world around him? By listening? By seeing? And how exactly was he supposed to sense what was going on in the world? There was nothing that could allow him to do that but the Force-

He realized almost instantly after finishing his little monologue.

"You're an idiot Bellin." He muttered to himself.

He clasped his hands together in a praying like stance and meditated. Letting go. Letting the Force guide him. And there he waited. Hoping that he would feel something soon, after all, Bellin was more along the type of person to just do things without hesitating, it was ironic considering how smart he and how his personality contrasted so much from it. It probably wouldn't take long, he just needed to be patient.

Hopefully...

Matsu watched him while he was meditating with a smirk on her face walking and letting the force energies flow opening for herself as she was walking around him. The ice shaping around her feet keeping her up as she spoke. "There you go, with the force you can feel and sense the world around you. Slowly feel it fill your lungs and body and then go outwards through your limbs into the planet itself. Down deep through the rock and metal and time, all that history buried deep down within it until you get to the core and the warm heart of the planet."

All of this was very cryptic.

Bellin couldn't help but feel like Matsu was leaving something out.

It was all very vague.

But, as Bellin always did, he responded with only respect in his voice:

"Yes Master."

Sometimes, Bellin cursed himself for not questioning, but then he would tell himself, It was curiosity that killed the Nexu.

Matsu was looking at him as he was doing what he could and she continued to watch and breath in, slowly with a smile appearing on her face before she watched the reflections on the ice. Showing the world she was feeling and it went somewhere strange, that she didn't know. "You are doing well, the breathing is important and so is your understanding of the force itself." She continued to move and walk but was looking at the surface to observe the tomb they had discovered. "How interesting." The banners were there and it looked like stone slabs in front of the doorway until she was looking. "That tomb isn't in our records but it is a fair distance away."

"Oh, I smell adventure!"

Something unexplored? A mystery tomb with potential dangers? These were the things that made a great adventure! To be honest, Bellin had a lot of repressed excitement, it was long overdue to burst out like this. Being the smartest in his class wasn't exactly interesting or exciting, nor was it healthy, honestly, there were so many times Bellin wanted to join the other Padawans on some epic journey throughout the Galaxy, but he didn't because he felt it wasn't appropriate.

It was about damn time that Bellin got his share of adventures.

"Master, we absolutely have to go to this tomb. It'll be amazing. And fun!"

Boy it felt good to say that.

There was a look on her face though while looking over at the padawan as she nodded her head. "Yes exactly that." She had a grin on her face while moving and indicating what direction they were to go before she spoke. "Allow the force to wrap around yourself as you leap and it will cushion your movements. We can make it there running easily enough since you can't fly yet." She had plans an focused the force to find the tomb with a small look before she was moving backward. "Adventure is always the thing you should enjoy, you never know what you are going to discover."

OOC: I'm sooooo sorry for this late post, school has been a real drag lately so It's been harder to post, honestly, I'm not even sure why I wanted AP classes...

Yes! Yes! Yes! This was it! They were about going to go on the perilous quests that Bellin had wanted to join throughout his childhood.

He couldn't believe that this was about to happen, but, then again, how could he? All his life he'd been raised in the Temple and all his life he was the obedient, smart, calm, collected, wise one, but now, now he could be who he'd always wanted to be. With Matsu's help, he could certainly overcome the challenges ahead of him, all while doing it the way he preferred, instead of the bland, original format his old-self used to follow. This was it. This was it! He was going to forget his polite mannerisms and the carefully structured sentences, he was now going to be the fun-loving, care-free Rodian he'd always wanted to be.

For every sarcastic comment he had to hold back.

For every emotion he'd wanted to let due it's thing.

This was it.

For him, and all the little things that he'd had to keep locked up. He started to jog in place.

"So? When are we going?"
