Shifting Energy [Self-Training]

Kara sat by herself in a small, out of the way training room in the Templar sanctum. It was hers for the next few hours, and there was nowhere else she needed to be for the rest of the day. Unless something catastrophic happened no one would be around to disturb her. It was doubtful that she would learn everything the device had to teach in one day, but it would hopefully be enough time for her to grasp Tutaminis.

The space would be appreciated since she didn’t have the best track record when it came to learning how to manipulate the force. The privacy would allow her to fail and swear to her heart’s content. Her abilities had improved as of late, ever since she’d come clean about her identity to Josiah, but it was still best to put some space in between herself and innocent ears.

The training room was empty except for Josiah’s holocron and a small training droid capable of discharging bursts of energy. The knight settled down of the floor lotus style before activating the holocron. A projected image of her former mentor appeared in the center of the room. He was dressed more formally than usual, and someone had made sure that there were no puffcake crumbs on his chest. All in all, not a bad image to preserve for generations to come.

Kara listened carefully as the image of her former mentor began to explain the theory behind Tataminis. Basically it allowed for energy outside of the body to be dissipated. Skilled users could deflect blaster bolts or even lightsabers. Some had even been able to absorb foreign energies to replenish his or her own, aiding in healing.

The most basic, and useful application was that of a shield around the users person, which drained energy from attacks. Fatigue would dissipate the barrier, but it would be an extremely useful talent otherwise. While she had once had trouble learning how to use the force, Kara had never lacked power.
