The brainchild of Ashin Varanin, the former Empress Desmius, this vessel is the result of a collaborative effort between experts who would never have come together otherwise. The spaceframe was designed by the Echani shipwright Rel Connory, also known as the @Bard of the Hyperlanes, for production by the Vencuyot Drydocks of MandalMotors, under the aegis of @Gilamar Skirata. The cloaking device was born of a collaboration between the Bard and Warren @Valik, the Sith technical genius. Much of the stygium was procured with the resources and personal efforts of the Bard and @Mia Monroe, Mandalore the Liberator. The cloaking device was based on Sith prototype designs available to both Valik and Varanin.
-Technical Capabilities and Deployment Options
The cloaking device is probably the largest stygium-based cloak created in the last millennium. Extensive sensor explorations and drilling in the Dreighton Nebula and Maramere have been ongoing for some time. However, all Mandalorian stealth vessels to date have been hibridium-based, and the Mandalorians have stockpiled every bit of stygium found. As per contract, the Mandalorians have provided the Omega Protectorate with 33% of stygium found. In return, the Protectorate has deployed technical assistance in the Dreighton Nebula. The resulting amount of stygium has been, almost uniformly, committed to the creation of this unique ship. The cloaking device was conceptualized and constructed by Warren Valik and Rel Connory. As a single-blind stygium cloaking device, it does not obstruct outgoing sensors or visual scans. The cloaking device is powered by a dedicated secondary reactor, equivalent to a corvette-scale reactor; however, in extremis, it can feed directly from the main reactor. The cloaking device is housed in a layer of turadium plating.
Like a v-150, each heavy quad ion cannon can fire a three-shot volley every six seconds. These three guns have a lateral firing arc of 360 degrees, but for significant vertical adjustment the entire vessel must be rolled. As with all ion cannons, of course, these weapons must contend with shields. Once supporting fire or turbolaser broadsides drop an enemy vessel's shields, however, the ion cannons disable the enemy vessel. The Tra'galaar assault craft are suitable for limited boarding operations, as with special troops, supercommandos or Force-users.
Obviously, this firing tactic is difficult to use against enemy vessels. A broadside is not sufficient to drop the shields of a ship of the line. This vessel is unique and assigned only to an experienced commander.
