Shar Sieu
Revenant Four
Early life
Shar grew up on Castell in the days before the Alliance, under the Commerce Guild's corporate rule and its neo-Imperialist administration after the Alliance annexed it. Shar grew to hate Sith and Imperial ideology in his early life, with many of his relatives victims of Imperial and Sith regimes as they fled back to their homeworld.
Shar became a true patriot of the Alliance and a deep believer in the Republican ideals that guided it. However, neo-Imperialist governance coninued, and Shar's industrial neighbourhood was one that saw increased policing and restrictions but few of the promised improvements. He eventually found himself entangled with a small underground dissident movement, mostly low-level administrators, street punks and some ex-Guilders that had run afoul of the new administration. Their actions were largely confined to vandalism, leafletting and low-level civil disobedience, with the occasional sabotage of government facilities (which Shar happily volunteered for), but eventually the law caught up to them, and a planned demonstration was foiled by mass arrests. Shar was lucky to avoid being implicated, and fled Castell and the reach of its local enforcers.
Shar applied to the GADF, and managed to dodge the background checks, which were not too thorough. When Shar was unexpectedly assigned a term studying recon and sabotage operations shortly after gaining his wings, he was quite sure the Alliance had some inkling of his past, but decided to keep his mouth shut. In the years since, Shar has devoted all his effort and energy to being a pilot, even gaining qualifications for the B-Wing. Engaged in a few skirmishes since, he was recently assigned to Revenant Squadron, which suited Shar just fine: at the front, in the thick of it.
876-878 ABY
During the Second Great Hyperspace War, Shar was assigned to Revenant Squadron, which would eventually grow famous as the Alliance's premier starighter squadron. He was involved in the border wars with the Empire at Ilum and the drive into the heart of the Maw at Empress Teta and Exegol. Shar earned some awards in his time there and grew a bond with the members of the squadron, despite the high casualty rate. Here, he found purpose and camaraderie.
878-900 ABY (Timeskip)
Revenant was disbanded with the end of the Second Great Hyperspace War, and Shar was transferred to the reserves, training a new generation of pilots, before moving into the civilian sector. There, he lost his leg in an industrial accident. The pension and Guild fees covered some of it, but over time Shar slid back surviving cheque-to-cheque; with the looming threat of arrest back home on Castell he stayed with the Guild until the late 890s, when the GADF began rearming, and returned to training pilots.
900- Present
Revenant was reformed just in time for the Dark Empire's invasion of Coruscant, and Shar was back on the frontlines in a squadron with new and old faces. Now piloting an advanced X-Wing, Shar is readier than ever to re-live the glory days.
