Shaddaa's Shadows (Listeri

Dalansa

Little Miss Psychopath
The silence of the night was unsettling to anyone who knew Nar Shaddaa. Nights were when this part of the planet came alive, and a silent one ment that something was wrong. And as the guard changed in the slave pens, Dalansa could see that. Something was definitely wrong. She sat silently in the corner, clutching her saberstaff. They had noticed her, but done nothing. When she overheard them talk, it was quiet whispers of "how long" and "when?" That could only mean one thing.

There was a Jedi on patrol.

That wasn't good for Dalansa. Her armor was on the Starsnow, and she didn't want this fight without it. It would end poorly, and she couldn't afford that. Not now. She sighed, sank back into her corner, and waited for the inevitable cry of the all-clear to begin a new killing spree.

Listeri nervously walked among the dirty and grimy streets of the moon, Nar Shaddaa. The smuggler knew a Jedi was somewhere around here, and he had nothing to fear from the Jedi Order. However, he had many harrowing experience's on the moon, and it brought back memories he didn't wish he remembered. Suddenly, he snapped out of his deep thought when he heard a scream.

" Shut up! I'll strike you down if you try to interrupt the search. " A deep voice echoed through the narrow alleys and wide open plazas. Listeri froze, and peered down a small corridor to his left. He saw a Neimodian man wearing what looked like to some Jedi Robes, and he seemed to be patting down a cowering man, shivering and mumbling nonsensical words. Listeri had met Jedi before, and that was a fraud. He slowly reached around his back, and slowly unclipped his rifle. " You fething scum... " He muttered to himself, as he prepared to take a shot.

She heard that. Not like any Jedi she had met. But still, she knew that voice. He wasn't Jedi. At least, not anymore. He had defected, become Sith, and she knew him. Or, had known him. Smiling, she stood in her corner. A Sith wouldn't care what she did here. Once she felt with him, it would be time to kill some slavers.

Her saberstaff in one hand, a small blaster in the other, she exited the room. When the Council had disbanded, all had run to their homes. She had gone with Slade, and as such had spent the last few months on Zeltros. That had been a horrible experience. One she didn't want to repeat. The planet was to soft in her view. Too much was spent on pleasure. She moved up behind him, her quiet voice still audible where [member="Listeri Dalane"] stood. "Slastan. It's been a while."
He spun, reached for his saber. "Dalansa. So the slave still lives. I'm impressed."
She growled, rage building up inside her. "I'm no slave." The pressure inside her was burning up. She could feel it. The wrath of an escapee who has lost everything was something else again. More powerful than a pampered child like Slastan could understand. And he would die for that remark.

Listeri's experience's on Nar Shaddaa were not something he wanted to go through. He had witnessed a crime lord extort a struggling family, then proceed to kill them. He was heavily wounded on the planet, and he had nearly lost his life multiple times in the seedy underbelly of the world. Witnessing a fake Jedi try to assault people aggravated him. But when he was a slaver , that pushed it over the edge. His eyes slightly widened when [member="Dalansa"] came out of the shadows. ' Man, she was a slave!?! ' He thought to himself. He stared down the scopes of his rifle, and using his skills with the weapon, he shot straight at the Sith's gut.

She saw the blaster shoot, and so did Slastan. Unfortunately for him, he noticed d it only once Dalansa was moving to dodge. It hit him square in the stomach, and as me keeled over, her blade flashed out to finish him off. His head hit the ground seconds before his body. She looked over to [member="Listeri Dalane"]. "Good shot" she remarked before turning back to the compound. The guards knew what came next. As much as she did.
"Who's next?" She asked, scowling. One of the guards raised his rifle. The other bolted inside.

Listeri watched as [member="Dalansa"] dispersed vigilante justice. While he didn't like to see people die, he thought he could make an exception here, seeing how the guy was a slaver. Suddenly, a pair of guards appeared, one poised to attack. The smuggler quickly aimed at the man, and shot him down quickly, a shot tearing off a chunk of his neck. He ran over to the woman, and crouched down nearby her. " Are you alright Miss? " Listeri asked politely, or at least as polite a smuggler can be.

Taking a sharp breath as the bolt tore through through the guard's neck, she let it out. She had expected him to fire. But as he fell, she heard the man who had shot approach. Barely turning to look, she nodded. "Fine." Stepping towards the now-open door, she gave a hint of a smile. "Have you ever heard of the Terror of Shaddaa?" She asked [member="Listeri Dalane"], now looking at him. "They're described as a powerful Jedi, who comes at night and empties entire slave pits. The guards are found dead, the slaves disappear."

Listeri grinned as he learned that the lady wasn't dead, as he stood up, and stretched his arm, sore from the massive amount of recoil from the rifle. " Ah, that hurts! No, I haven't heard of any Terror, since I haven't been on Shaddaa since... Whatever. " He paused as the memories flooded back, as thoughts of his scarred organs, dead families and a laughing Hutt filled his mind. The smuggler began walking to the door, cradling his still-sore arm.

Staring into the black hallway, she turned to [member="Listeri Dalane"] again. "Unless you want a fight, don't go in there. That's the bowels of the Ring, and you just killed an employee. They won't take to kindly to you." She took another step towards the door, her saber still between her and the blackened hall. "I wonder where today's shipment was from..." The Offshoot muttered to herself. She couldn't hear anything. How old were they? Ten? Twelve? She didn't know. But they knew to be quiet. That ment at least ten. Depending on how long they had been held before that. But they would be gone by morning. As well as the recent winnings of the Ring. She was running low on money, after all.

Listeri grinned wildly, as he looked down the hallway. " A fight, is what I live for Miss...? " He left the sentence open, hoping [member="Dalansa"] would pick up and give him her name. The smuggler cracked his knuckles, and took a stroll down the hallway. " Stop! We will shoot you karking scu- " The guard didn't get to finish his sentence as a large blast it his stomach and sent him sprawled on the floor. His 2 friends quickly scrambled for their weapons, but they were too slow, and ended up with shots in the head. " Looks like today is my lucky day... " Listeri muttered as ten guards flooded the area around him.

He dived for cover, as a wave of blaster fire collided with grey walls, turning it to an ashen color. Listeri was backed up against a small box, amazed that the guards didn't notice him. He fumbled for the grenades on his belt, and quickly chucked one over. A loud bang echoed around the Ring, as every guard except for one. He was laying on the ground, looking up at Listeri in fear. While he hated killing people, his sense of morality was thrown out the window when it came to slavers. The man was met with a resounding blast to the face.

Dalansa followed [member="Listeri Dalane"] in, muttering "I'm starting to like this guy..." As she stood to the heart of the operation. The guards the smuggler had killed she stepped over, sapphire blade sparkling. Her eyes burned with a fury few understood. And the next guard, left with a shockstaff, would feel it.

He swung, aiming at her shoulder. She stepped aside, spinning the blade to slice down on the shockstaff. The head came off, leaving him armed with a metal stick. She swung, slicing his arm off in one stroke. "I remember you. Baradin, isn't it?"
"How do you... Dalansa?"
"Yes. You're welcome." She said, slicing his stomach open and then finishing him off. One thing would become clear as she moved on.
Dalansa had no qualms about their deaths.
The Terror of Shaddaa stepped deeper into the Ring.

Listeri watched as [member="Dalansa"] quickly chopped her way through guards, even talking to one for a second. " Heh, I'm starting to like this girl... " He said to himself, as he continued following the marauder. As he looked into the Ring, he saw only a few guards left, and a lot of cages. The guards were all grouped together by a small entrance to the Ring, quietly talking among themselves about what was happening up there. The smuggler chucked a grenade down there, managing to land nearby. It eliminated the group, as Listeri ran down into the ring.

He quickly began opening cages, releasing the trapped slaves within.

That... was a mistake. The group of guards that [member="Listeri Dalane"] had gernaded were standing in front of today's shipment was. Not the slaves Dalansa had expected. A beast, and now, the gate loosened by the grenade, charged Dalansa.

She had little time to react before the creature was on top of her. She couldn't make out what it was, only that the thing was golden and very upset. But it never hit her. She was pinned down under the weight, as the thing thrashed about on top of her. The jaws snapped centimeters from her face, the claws slashed some of her hair, but they missed anything vital. Finally, she realized why. It had impaled on her blade, which had deactivated. The spikes were now birdied in it's underbelly.
Shrugging the now-limp form off, the Offshoot scowled, slicing open the remaining cages. The slaves, some of whom knew her, ran for the streets. They knew where to go. They should be free now.
She turned to the man, smiled, and asked, "Want to go finish off the shift?"

Listeri grimaced and cringed when the beast charged out of the gate and went for [member="Dalansa"] , as he felt bad for accidentally letting the creature out. He turned back to the slaves, and watched as the woman opened the cages. His frown became a grin as he saw the joyous faces of the escaping slaves, wildly sprinting for the door. Listeri eventually stopped watching, and began doing his part by releasing the diverse group of captives.

" Sounds like a plan Miss...? " The smuggler once more hoped the woman would give him her name, as he walked over to the girl.

She cocked her head to one side. "Æthel." Stalking slowly up to the stairwell, she smiled. "Only thing, I want the computer intact." She stepped up towards the second level. A long black hallway stretched out in front of her. On the other side, a small group of guards charged down the hall. They spotted her, walking towards them, the staunch black of her armor and her pale white skin outlined on the wall. The lead guard threw something at her. She broke into a run as it landed behind her.
The flashbang sent her head spinning. She couldn't see. She tried to focus, but nothing would appear. She heard them come close. Lashing out at the noise, she felt one, no, two blows connect. One screamed in agony. The others closed in.

Listeri jogged over to his pale companion, as he reloaded his rifle and listened to her reveal her name. Æthel...Interesting name, must be from the Outer Rim. He thought to himself. " Only thing, I want the computer intact. " [member="Dalansa"] commanded, as the smuggler jogged up the steps. " As mi'lady commands. " He told her, speaking in a Imperial accent and doing a mock bow. Suddenly, Listeri's joke was interrupted, as a flash blinded him. A loud ringing in his ears slowly drifted away, when he heard an agonized scream of pain, breaking his reverie. He watched as faint shadows moved towards a shape he recognized as his lady friend. A deep and enraged fury began taking over, as he sprang up, and tried to fire a shot at one of the guards. It missed, be he saw a scream of pain as a silhouette fell over. An expression of grim satisfaction spread over his face, as he quickly downed the last 3 guards of the group, as they fell over and writhed in agony. The smuggler became worried when he didn't see his ally, but a sigh of relief escaped his lips as he saw her. " Y'all right? " Listeri asked, sounding more desperate than one should be.
