STRENGTHS

High-Capacity Rapid Troop Transport - Designed to carry up to 800 Mandalorians and 200 Droids alongside heavy equipment, the Shaadlar-type enables mass deployment of ground forces in a single landing cycle. The Shaadlar-type can also be modified to carry speeder bikes, light walkers, and light repulsorlifts along with a smaller complement of Mandalorians and Droids.

Enhanced Defensive Survivability - Layered Mandalorian iron hull plating, redundant shield generators, and a damage-reduction system allow the vessel to withstand sustained orbital and atmospheric fire during contested landings.

Improved Speed for a Troopship - Upgraded ion drives and mass-optimized internal layout allow the Shaadlar-type to reach landing zones faster than most transports of comparable size, reducing exposure to enemy interdiction.

Effective Landing-Zone Suppression Armament - Turbolasers, ion cannons, missile launchers, and concussion and fragmentation munitions provide reliable bombardment of fortifications, anti-air batteries, and armored ground targets during deployment.

DESCRIPTION

The Shaadlar-type Troopship is the Mandalorian Empire's primary instrument for large-scale planetary insertion. Extensively modernized by Aether Systems, the updated design abandons the concept of a lightly protected transport in favor of a fast, armored assault carrier capable of delivering entire battalions directly into hostile territory. Measuring 130 meters in length, the Shaadlar-type is built around vast internal troop decks, armored cargo bays, and vehicle holds rather than hangars or flight operations facilities. Every cubic meter not dedicated to personnel or supplies is allocated to shielding systems, structural reinforcement, and propulsion upgrades, giving the vessel unusually high speed and maneuverability for its size class. During combat landings, the ship functions as both transport and fire-support platform. Its turbolasers and missile systems are tuned for suppressing surface defenses, crippling shield generators, and neutralizing anti-air emplacements in the moments leading up to touchdown. Ion cannons disable hostile armor and power grids, allowing Mandalorian forces to disembark into controlled kill-zones rather than contested chaos. The vessel's most recognizable feature is its six-legged landing system, inspired by the original Basilisk design that was more insectoid in appearance. These massive reinforced struts extend from the underside of the hull, lifting the ship clear of unstable terrain and distributing its weight across a wide footprint. This allows the Shaadlar-type to land in dense urban environments, shattered battlefields, icy tundra, or rocky deserts where conventional landing pads are unavailable or destroyed. Once grounded, the ship effectively becomes a fortified forward base. Troop ramps deploy from multiple levels, cargo elevators unload vehicles and heavy weapons, and internal command decks coordinate surface operations. With a year's worth of consumables and extensive cargo storage, the Shaadlar-type can sustain prolonged campaigns without immediate resupply. In Mandalorian hands, the Shaadlar-type is not merely a transport. It is a falling fortress - a warship designed to descend through fire, crush into hostile soil, and disgorge an army at the exact point the enemy least wants it.
