Encrypted Comlink: A device that transfers voice signals from one location, to another. - Live Network Link: The Heads-Up Display can receive orders, updates and tactical data in real-time from command networks.
[*]Breathing Systems:
- Environmental Filter: A device that removes harmful gases, such as poisons, and fumes from the air.
- Oxygen Filtration System: A device that removes solid particles, such as dust, pollen, mould, and bacteria from the air.
- Oxygen Supply: A storage vessel that holds one-hundred and twenty (120) minutes of oxygen.
- Re-breather: A breathing apparatus that adsorbs the carbon dioxide of the user's breath, to permit the re-breathing of unused oxygen.
[*]Scanner/Sensor Systems:
- Multi-Scanner: A multi-role scanner, which combines the functions of the following:
Combat Scanner: A sensor which employs targeting software, to increase the user's combat efficiency. - Life Form Scanner: A device that allows the user to detect living beings from a distance.
[*]Multi-Frequency Targeting and Acquisition System: A sensor system which provides assistance in acquiring targets in conditions of poor visibility, and at long ranges.
[*]Radar: An object detection system, that determines the range, angle, or velocity of objects.
- Motion Scanner: A device that detects objects via movement, and displays them on the helmet's radar.
[*]Sonar Mapper: A device that emits sonar pulses, to map an area through echolocation.
[*]Transponder Systems:
- IFF Transponder: A transponder signal which broadcasts the user's affiliation.
[*]Navigational Map: The real-time uplink allows the Heads-up Display to provide adjustable images of scans and holographic maps of the current Area of Operations.
- Visor Systems:
Anti-flash Visor: A visor that protects the user's eyes from bright flashes, such as those emitted by flash bangs. - Heads-Up Display: A transparent display that presents data, without requiring the user to look away from their viewpoint.
- Rangefinder: A device that zooms in on distant targets, and displays visual data of the target observed.
- Vision Technologies: The visor may cycle through the following visions:
Standard Vision - Infrared Vision
- Night Vision
- Thermal Vision
- Ultraviolet Vision
[*]Body:
- Copper Faraday Cage: A mesh of conductive materials, that protects the armor's systems from electromagnetic radiation (e.g. EMP).
- Duraplast Plates: Covering the majority of the front and back of the torso, this removable set of plates protects the wearer from kinetic force, blasters, slughthrowers and even lightsabers, to an extent.
- Power-Pack: A small power-pack that supplies energy to the Armor's systems.
Redundant Power-Pack: A small, redundant, power-pack that supplies energy to critical systems if the primary power-pack is damaged, or disabled.
[*]Air Conditioning System: An in-built system, designed to keep the user at a comfortable temperature, in high or low, heat environments.
[*]Pressurization: The armor can be pressurized, so as to aid the user in surviving the vacuum of space.
[*]Utility Belt:
- 2x Energy Sink: A component designed to adsorb blaster energy.
- 2x Combat De-ionizer: A device that counteracts the effects of ionic energy
- Additional Ammunition: A compartment for storing additional clips of ammunition.
- Grenades: A compartment for storing additional grenades.
- Medpac: A small first-aid kit that contains limited-utility diagnosis equipment and other essential medicines for the treatment of wounds.
- Field Ration: A prepackaged meal, easily prepared and eaten.
- Multitool: A device that contains a variety of useful tools.
Arms:
- Copper Faraday Cage: A mesh of conductive materials, that protects the armor's systems from electromagnetic radiation (e.g. EMP).
- 2x Magnetic Grip: A device that allows the user to magnetize their palms, to reduce the risk of being disarmed.
- 1x Grappling Spike Launcher: A device that launches a liquid, which immediately solidifies into a tough yet lightweight and flexible mono-filament cable. Stored on the users right-bracer.
- Duraplast Plates: Protecting from the shoulder to the bicep, these plates offer added protection.
- Duraplast Gauntlets: Protecting the hand and wrist, these gauntlets include added protection.
- Legs:
Copper Faraday Cage: A mesh of conductive materials, that protects the armor's systems from electromagnetic radiation (e.g. EMP). - Grav Boots: A device that allows the user to move at planes fourty five (45) to one-hundred and eighty (180) degrees opposite normal gravity.
- Magno-grip Soles: A device that allows the user to magnetize themselves to surfaces which they were standing on.
- Duraplast Plates: Situated mainly on the knees and shins with some protection also around the thighs, these plates are designed to protect the extremities.
DESCRIPTION
Developed by Iron Fury Industries in response to the need for more specialized forms of armour, the SF/IE-VO4B Special Operations Armour was the standard issue armour for Special Forces units and Security Bureau Field Operatives, being deployed for use after the Insurrection on Roxuli. Its design and underlying systems were heavily similar to the standard Infantry Armour, the IF/IE-AO1A, but with more advanced visor and HUD systems along with a set of lighter materials. It still featured the same copper faraday cage as its heavier cousin.
PRIMARY SOURCES
Strengths:
- Lighter Frame: Thanks to the lighter and lower quantity of materials used, the armour allows for speed of movement and flexibility.
- Lightsaber Protection: Offering more specific protection against lightsabers than most regular armour, many users could survive a glancing blow or slash thanks to the plates.
- Advanced Systems: The VO4B sports advanced Heads-up Display and Tactical systems, allowing for efficient receiving and usage of information.
- Blaster Resistance: The Thermoweave and Armorweave Underlay of the armour allows resistance against blaster bolts, while the Duraplast plates and Durasteel helmet offer even more resistance.
- EMP/Ion Resistance: To protect the more fragile electronics systems of the armour, resistant materials have been incorporated, including a complete Copper Faraday Cage.
- Kinetic Weakness: Thanks to the light weight of the armour used and the conservative amount, users are quite vulnerable to kinetic force compared to heavier armours.
- Repeated Damage: Though the materials used are quite strong, the plating in particular is thin to cut weight, meaning that it will not be able to take many hits before eventually giving way.
- Selective Plating: To up manouverability, plating does not cover all of the user's body, leaving certain areas of the body easier to damage with projectile weapons.
