Description:
The hunting armor of Seydon of Arda -- once known as Seroth Ur-Rahn -- may be Rave Merrill's crowning achievement. It is certainly her most ambitious alchemical project, regardless of whether it saves Seydon's life or kills him. It combines two major alchemical functions and one technological function.

-Sithspawn Magnet
By long effort and serious capital outlay, Rave obtained fragmentary versions of the Taurannik Codex in various translations. Upon its translation, the Codex -- once used by the Knell of Muspilli to summon apocalyptic gods from beyond the Gunninga Gap -- was employed by a team of over a dozen Masters of disparate backgrounds, in order to summon and defeat Lotek'k, the Terror From Beyond. Along with Lotek'k came writhing horrors, different enough from the great beast that Rave recognized how the proper use of the Codex could draw the most twisted of creations. She adapted the Taurannik Codex's incantations into a runic form which lacked the full Codex's ability to summon the greatest of monsters. Instead, the runes inscribed on and within Seydon's armor have a constant and relatively low-level effect: They draw Sithspawn over an untested range, certainly kilometres. This is a massive liability, but, perhaps, a tactical boon to a prepared monster hunter wishing to draw nefarious creations away from soft targets. Even sentient Sithspawn feel the urge, though with sentience comes the ability to decline the instinctive invitation should judgment whisper otherwise. A man wearing this armor in a Sith crypt cannot hope to pass unnoticed, and may quickly find himself overwhelmed by the greatest of ancient guardians. The armor also draws beings such as starweirds, derriphans, and space wraiths.

-Banishment

The ancient Words of Banishment, once used to disable energy vampires and sever them from their undead thralls, were obtained from a Jedi traitor by Rave's apprentice Isley Verd. Rave has expanded on the principle and applied a second set of runes to Seydon's armor. Within the presence of the armor -- a radius of perhaps a hundred metres -- various forms of undead are severed from the control of any Force practitioner, and turn on their masters or on Seydon himself, ignoring other targets. This effect works on undead created by energy vampires, Nightsister spells, Sith magic, or even mechu-deru vitae. Those who practice such rare and easily abused arts find it difficult or impossible to create new undead within that radius, let alone control them. The armor's presence weakens energy vampires and reveals them for what they are. Bolstered by alchemized lotek'k hide, it also renders the wearer resistant to the mental effects of such creatures as derriphans, space wraiths, and lotek'k, though the wearer must contend with standard Force-based mental effects as normal.

-Shield Breaching

The suit's sole technological component, apart from a simple comlink and a standard radiation deflection badge, is its individual field disruptor. Based on the Evasive-13 and the Evasive-226R used by Page's Commandos during the final years of the Rebel Alliance, the field disruptor permits Seydon to move through energy fields, such as deflector shields, with some difficulty but without adverse effect. The field disruptor may destabilize and deactivate under stress; for example, walking through a handful of energy fields in a matter of minutes may prompt a shutdown or disable the machine. The armor is not guaranteed against planetary-grade shields or fields of similar magnitude. A thin layer of micronized ionite is impregnated into the leather as a failsafe; should the field disruptor fail while passing through an energy field, the armor will protect the wearer from death or maiming, though electrocution and burns may result. Neither the field disruptor nor the ionite improve the armor's ability to resist weapons. In fact, as with all the features of this armor, its strength is also a serious liability: should an enemy attack with a lightsabre while the field disruptor is activated, the lightsabre blade's containment field could rupture, damagine the lightsabre and spilling free plasma onto the armor's wearer. In short, this armor requires judgment and skill to use effectively. If used improperly or carelessly, it will kill you dead.

Classification: Multipurpose
Weight: 10kg
Quality: 9
Other Feature(s): Moderate lightsabre resistance (alchemized lotek'k hide), moderate resistance to Force attacks (alchemized terentatek hide)
