Session 1

Her maneuver had worked just as planned, tumbling her sparring partner over her own unsupported sabers and to the floor. Charity was now back to her full height, expecting to abuse her reach and make the killing, descending slash at Eri'anya's back with a right-handed reverse arc.

Then she stopped in the process of her violent swing, remarkable restraint withholding the golden beam of her weapon from striking at her vulnerable opponent. The momentary prick of the electrically charged blade unmistakably bit into the skin of her calf. It was like the sting from a bee, stunningly painful at first but quickly subsiding into a heated throbbing. She raised her left elbow to bump Eri'anya away from her body, lowering her saber and motioning towards her boot as she gazed down at the dark line that remained as evidence of a connecting blow.

"Disable." It wasn't a fatal strike, but it would have been enough to cripple her had they been wielding true lightsabers. The contact had been made before her own shot, and that was enough to count for a sparring match. She would learn from her mistake and deal with Eri'anya's unconventional form better next round.

Acquiescing to to the urgings of Charity's prodding elbow, Eri'anya scrambled out of the woman's personal space to reclaim her lost posture. Taking a moment to square her shoulders, she followed the downward gesture until her eyes fell upon the point of contact for her saber. Eri'anya had not realized how deeply she had connected with her erratic downward swing, surmising that her fall had given her a technical boost to her effective range. It was a blunder, and she had gotten lucky, but neither of those things could prevent the smile spreading across the Jedi's lips. "I guess so!" It was a close one...

Tuning out the voice in her head that pointed out her flaws in both mindset and form, Eri'anya switched off the twin yellow blades to give her sparring partner a quick bow. She felt the urge to spout some congratulations on the good match, but Eri knew Charity well enough to know that such small talk was better left as an understanding. She had to know how close she had come to winning the round.

Taking another step back, Eri'anya eased herself back into a new ready position. Her stance was low and wide, her right shoulder facing her opponent with both sabers clutched low at her sides, blades deactivated. She was ready whenever Charity was.
