The Restorer
Roman watched Lysander, a familiar ache echoing his words about family. He knew that pain, the subtle unraveling of bonds stretched thin by distance and life's demands. He let Lysander's words hang in the air for a moment, acknowledging the weight.
"Yeah, Naboo is something else." Roman agreed, thinking of the vibrant landscapes and the peaceful air. He understood the pull, that tug of beauty. He couldn't deny Ukatis's strange hold either.
When Lysander mentioned his brother's partner, Roman's face softened. "Anneliese? We've been together for over a year now. She's… incredible. You'd like her. Maybe someday you'll meet her. She has been on assignment for a while across the galaxy." Roman hoped they could meet properly soon, but for now, they were just two people trying to make a long distance relationship work while learning and growing.
He raised his glass, a grin spreading across his face. Enough with the heavy talk. "Alright, alright," Roman chuckled, clapping Lysander on the shoulder. "Enough with the existential dread for one night, huh? We're supposed to be celebrating, not dissecting the meaning of life." He gestured to the bartender. "Another round for my friend here! What'll it be, Lys? Something strong to help us forget our troubles and embrace the… well, the fleeting joy of the present moment?"
Roman slid a fresh drink towards Lysander with a wink. He didn't want to dismiss his friend's feelings, but sometimes, a little levity was exactly what was needed. "Come on, let's enjoy the music, catch up on some less serious topics. Tell me, have you heard anything about the latest swoop bike races on Ryloth? Apparently, there was a crash involving a Trandoshan and a droid…it was supposed to be a sight to behold."
