Seren Outfitters was born out of a need to repair clothing when Rai Seren could not afford to pay someone to fix the holes in her robes. Traveling as a youngster does not typically lend itself to making much money, though she was able to make some. Ultimately, when things happened and she wore out some of her clothing she couldn't really afford to buy new ones, or have someone else fix them, so she learned to mend them herself. This led to experimentation, and while she was traveling she briefly apprenticed with a tailor, which taught her enough of what she needed to know and allowed her to recruit enough funds to start out for herself, as she was able to live meagerly while working. Upon returning to Aurum, she sought out a small storefront, and purchased a meager amount of fabrics before she began crafting her own line of clothing items to get people to come in. From there she started to take on custom requests from interested parties, and the business has begun to grow as a result. As a principle student of Stav Kesh, she is no stranger to the necessities of armor, and as such has also ventured into the craft of light armor. She is not a true metalsmith and can't make anything which requires plates, but she's gifted in leather working and tailoring and so quite capable of making lighter armor for those people who don't like to have their speed and maneuverability inhibited, but still want some sort of protection. Seren Outfitters specializes in these two things: clothing and light armor.
RATIONALE
Rai started the corporation herself, with her own funds, simply as a clothing repair business at first. Now she's expanded to making items for others.
