STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES (Required: 2 Weaknesses Minimum) :
Sentus is a thinker rather than a fighter. He prefers to wage his battles from behind the command console of starships and battle stations, rather than taking up a blaster and charging the front lines. If forced into a fight, Sentus relies on speed and mobility over brute force, and he is rarely able to fight in a prolonged engagement. Sentus is straight forward to the point of being plainly blunt, and will not hesitate it insult or call out others if he thinks they are doing something wrong or harmful to others. This often leads him to getting into fights he cannot necessarily win in a straight forward manner. He is known to have made numerous trips to regional hospitals across the western reaches of the galaxy.
When not forced to brawl with others, his mind comes to the fore. He is able to plan out his actions well in advance of doing them, and in a combat situation often has several traps and fall back plans well established and ready to be launched if one of over a dozen contingencies happen. Sentus is also able to pick people apart, working out their hidden motives and goals with a few carefully placed words, allowing him to better understand others with ease, often at the expense of a few extra hurt feelings.
APPEARANCE:
Sentus is roughly five feet and nine inches tall, though when his is in his full combat attire he stands closer to five eleven. He keeps his dark brown hair cut to just above his ears, though at times if he does not take the time to organize it, it can obscure his ears entirely. He has dark blue eyes with small flecks of green in them. He has several scars across his chest and back, as well as numerous ones along his arms. His usual attire consists of shirts and pants in various shades of blue and black, occasional changing them out for a white suit if he is feeling festive.
BIOGRAPHY:
Sentus was born on the world of Bakura, into a minor noble family living in the planets capital city. His father was a high ranking member within the Bakuran Defense Force, and most of Sentus's childhood was spent preparing him to join the BDF and follow in the footsteps of the Trion family. He was an ideal student in almost every regard, taking quickly to military history and strategy as well as the advanced courses in basic astrophysics and philosophy. However, his personal physical training and combat experience were sorely lacking in his fathers expectations. For most of his youth Sentus was nearly bed ridden from one sickness or another, the result of a series of poor genetic traits and bad luck in equal measure. This one failure in his fathers eye was enough for Sentus to become nearly ostracized in the Trion family, and Sentus committed more heavily to his studies to try and make up for his weakness.
He joined the BDF at the age of seventeen, as every member of the Trion family had for nearly seven generations. He flew through all his classes with outstanding marks, earning him praise from both the High Marshall of the Defense Academy as well as nearly all of his teachers, though his sicknesses returned, though to a lesser degree. It was during his second year in the Defense Academy when Sentus was ambushed and beaten by a group of senior cadets, with many of them bringing out short blades and cutting into Sentus viciously, leaving scars across his upper body that would never go away. The senior cadets were tried and expelled from the Defense Academy, though they were not arrested for attempted murder. Sentus suspected they had been sent by his own father to try and remove the stain on the Trion family, and when they failed, were protected by his father from the full force of the law. Sentus was never able to dig up any evidence of it, but his fathers nonexistent presence for the rest of his time at the Defense Academy, including his time in intensive care confirmed his beliefs.
Finally Sentus graduated the Defense Academy, and was assigned a position within the Bakuran Defense Fleet, patrolling the edge of the Bakuran system as a lieutenant aboard a small escort vessel. Over the course of his five year career within the Defense Fleet, Sentus would participate in numerous boarding operations against smuggler vessels, combat engagements against pirate ships in nearby systems harassing Bakuran trade ships, and a small number of planetary deployments when the interests of Bakura involved the invasion of other worlds. Despite all this, he was never promoted past lieutenant. His career was frozen on board the small escort vessel while his peers were promoted up and away, and the next class were promoted above Sentus. Even after all his success in the military, his father saw Sentus as a bane on the existence of their family. As a recently elected member of the Bakuran government, he had the political power to ensure he would never see his son achieve anything.
It was during a routine anti-pirate operation that Sentus would encounter Madeline Olan, the daughter of a leading member of the Bakuran government. On one of her trips from the inner core her ship had been attacked and captured by pirates seeking to hold her for ransom. Sentus and his crew were able to locate them and launch a surprise assault, freeing her and eliminating all the pirates in less than an hour. For the entire trip back to Bakura, Sentus and Madeline came to know each other better, and upon her return to her family, she spoke with her father of the man she saw as her liberator. Later that month, Sentus received his first promotion in seven years of service to the Defense Fleet. Madeline's father had gone to war against Sentus's own father to ensure the man who saved his daughter was properly rewarded, and after digging into the background of that officer, he found the best way to do so. Sentus was rapidly promoted up the chain of command to become a commander aboard one of the capital ships of the Defense Fleet, serving alongside other members of the Olan family directly. He was able to spend more time on Bakura itself after his promotions, and he spent some time with Madeline and her father. After two years of a growing relationship between the two, Sentus and Madeline were married. In a move that shocked many members of the Trion family, Sentus did not ask Madeline to take his name, and instead took the Olan family name, severing his final connection to a past that had been nothing but a hindrance.
Three years later Sentus served as the Captain of one of the largest ships in the Defense Fleet, and was the father of two children, a boy and a girl. During a routine visit to his family home on Bakura, Sentus came face to face with members of the growing First Order. The Olan family had long since been in contact with them, and had plans of peacefully turning the planet over to the First Order to avoid conflict with the expanding power. Though he had his reservations with the idea, Sentus agreed to go along with it. A few months later when the proposal was brought forward to peacefully join the First Order, the government became divided in two. The larger faction agreed with the Olan family, though a conservative faction led by Sentus's own father and the allies of the Trion family called for violent resistance. Civil war followed shortly after, and Sentus had his first taste of fighting a large scale battle. His fleet actions saw the destruction of all conservative ships in orbit, and even took part in the storming of the last conservative city on Bakura itself. When the fighting was over, Sentus watched with some regret as his father was executed as an enemy of the First Order before his eyes.
Within the First Order Sentus was given command of a small strike force within the massive military structure. He spent increasingly long times away from Bakura, in which time a First Order magistrate on the planet began to take interest in Madeline. His repeated advances were deftly handled by Madeline and the rest of the Olan family, with each failure earning further ire from the magistrate. Sentus did not learn about this until he returned to Bakura a year after it had begun. The fight that ensued was the first time Sentus nearly killed a man with his bare hands, though he was dragged away by the Olan family guards and the incident was dealt with. The Olan family spoke with the First Order ranking officer on Bakura, who agreed the situation needed to be dealt with. Sentus was placed under house arrest as the Olan family and the governor worked on drafting the paperwork to officially strip the magistrate of his power and arrest him. Before they could act however, the magistrate took matters into his own hands. Less than a day after Sentus confronted the man, Madeline was arrested by order of the magistrate, who was still in office, and tried for treason on false charges. By the time the governor and the Olan family learned of the secretive trial, Madeline had already been executed. The political backlash from this action nearly led to an uprising on Bakura, but the quick action of the governor handled the situation. The magistrate was arrested and was made to disappear, whilst Madeline's body and evidence of her trial were covered up. If word spread of the potential for corruption within the First Order government, there could be further incidents across their space. The governor came to Sentus and apologized in person, though Sentus said nothing in return. The following day he resigned from the First Order military, and departed the system.
He would spend some time travelling the galaxy, visiting nearly ever bar and tavern he could locate and getting into more fights than his body should have been able to heal from. A wandering Jedi ran into Sentus, responding to a disturbance on one of their planets. The Jedi helped to heal Sentus's wounds, and slowly came to learn of his past. When Sentus awoke, the Jedi spent some time counseling Sentus, helping to ease the burdens weighing down on his mind. After several days of these sessions, Sentus was offered a position within the Silver Jedi Order military, which he accepted. He was made an Admiral within their military, serving in several battles, among them a new battle at the asteroid system of Recee against a group of Sith calling themselves the New Sith Order. However, when the SJO formed an alliance with the Confederacy of Independent Systems, an organization Sentus saw as little better than the First Order, he resigned in protest. He traveled back to Bakura, meeting his children against for the first time in five years. It was here an agent of the Eternal Empress found Sentus, bringing with them an offer of work in standing up for justice and order that Sentus had thought he had found within the SJO. He agreed to the offer, and brought his family to Zakuul, where he swore his allegiance to the Arenais family for the time being, hoping they will be the ones to help restore some semblance of justice and peace to the galaxy.
