Hello all!
This is the interest check for the Sentient Medical Alliance, which is a faction that
A Phoenix
and I are building up to provide a storytelling home for medical characters of all shapes and stripes! I’ll note that this is the successor to the original interest check which Phoenix put up a few months ago, now with a more fleshed out concept.
Premise
Our premise is a minor faction focused on medical drama-style storytelling, adapted to the Star Wars Chaos setting. Think of any kind of medical drama TV show (SkyMed, House, etc.) and you’ll have a rough idea of what we’re aiming for. The faction is intended to be centered around medical characters, so doctors, surgeons, nurses, medical droids, medical students, medical technicians, Force-sensitive healers, and similar characters will find a home here. We have no particular bias for or against Force-sensitivity, so Force-sensitive healers and non-Force-sensitive medical staff will be working together.
As a purely neutral faction, we welcome characters from any faction or origin point. This means that for those of you who have medical characters who belong to a single faction, your character might be working alongside characters from rival factions. It is very much possible that a surgeon from the Sith Order might be working in a team with an anesthesiologist from the Galactic Alliance. That said, it should be noted that characters who are overtly evil (i.e. a character for whom it is publicly known that they’ve engaged in slavery, live sentient experimentation, or something similarly heinous) may find it difficult to integrate with the faction. A character who works for an evil organization and can feasibly integrate into a more "normal" group (i.e. a Sith Order military medic) is fine, but try not to push things too much further beyond that.
If you need justification for your character being in the faction, anything from residency, fellowships, internships, or simply career advancement are perfectly valid explanations.
For the threads, expect most of the action to take place in the Galaxy General Medical Center. However, we do have plans for “away missions” and the like, which would see the characters brought planetside to respond to crises and what not.
