The man sat in the cockpit staring down at the world as he drank the hapen mead. An attack had happened here in the past several months. Criminals ran round in hiding. Escaped from the prison the sith liberated. The man was tracking one of the sith possibly involved that was rallying many of the those who had escaped and refused to join the Ta'jar Blood gang. While he searched for the bottom of the bottle he was going over leads of a sith. He'd taken notice of seven dead civilians. All died from been deprived of oxygen, all laid on the floor with hands clutching their throats and no marks of bruising or cut down with corterised flesh. Something the man had seen many times amongst other things. The abilities of sith was something not to underestimate but something he'd grown accustomed to through his service in the military.

The man didn't know the power of the woman. He did know she'd be dead by the end of the week. The woman would face the jury and sentenced to death by the relentless judge. His guns had brought many unlawful people to the end. All of them deserving of the fate they'd endured. He'd skim read more reports as Taneas groaned leaning forward pushing the controls to move position in orbit. His thoughts turning to think about how his home world had come to suffer such torment and dissaray.

Gear + ship:
Ship - Dynamic class Freighter II (red)

Armor - ACS-002 tempest Jedi expeditionary
Shield - paragon-class personal energy shield
Weapons -

combat knife
The raging judge and relentless jury

The bait had been set, and the trap had been sprung.

Out of nowhere a Harrower Star Destroyer materialized into realspace, its dagger-like silhouette ringed by the light of the nearby star. A squadron of fighters spewed out of the ventral hangar like a swarm of screeching bats, and at their head was a fighter wreathed in blackest night.

"Stay in attack formation," boomed the harrowing voice of Skull Leader, his face obscured by a black pilot's helmet as he directed his Subjugator into an attack vector.

His fingers depressed the triggers, and a steady hail of green blaster fire plummeted down towards the lone freighter.

The sensors began to pick up a group of ships that was on a quick intercepting vector. That was only compliment by an obnoxious bleeping of been locked onto. "Feth, fething feth feth feth." He'd say to himself as the man pulled hard rolling the ship sideways till it was upside down and pulled up at the same time. The ship would come under the squodron of fighters as he took a quick look and count. Although there was a few to many to count quickly but he did see the type of ships. "I swear they have a damn fascination with the tie models."

He'd loop back around assuming the starfighters would do the same to intercept. "No fething punk kid is gonna get the better of me. Not even over my dead body." Taneas's voice was one that sounded grumpy and aggravated. He didn't expect this. He'd assumed it would have been all ground work. Actually this was no coincidence, it seemed staged... Set up almost. The first tie would reach his targeting computers lock as it began to fire a volley of orangey red shots.

The Dark Lord watched the freighter execute an evasive maneuver as the hail of laser fire peppered against the ship's shields, and the Lord took this chance to swing around wide for another shot.

"Flank him. Give him little chance to breath, and force him to ground."

Several of the Interceptors broke off of formation, organizing themselves into smaller groups of two to harry the freighter from every direction. Some inevitably came within range of the freighter's weapons, and though their shields allowed them to take more than what was expected of a TIE fighter some inevitably were blown to smithereens.

The Subjugator aligned its targeting axis over the freighter's rear, and Carnifex depressed the trigger to fire the pair of heavy laser cannons mounted on the wings.

A series of shots landed against the back end of the ship as she flew through the shrapnel of the tie he managed to kill. As the green bolts hit the shields fluctuated sending splash damage through onto the port thruster. A different bleeping begun to alarm notifying him hes took damage. "Wanna play rough huh? I'll show you how a real pilot fly's you plasteal pigs." The Dynamic class would drop rapidly with shields now all facing rear end. he knew the Gorge that he was heading towards. It was full of tight turns, water falls and even holes he could scrape though.

as the ship dropped lower he'd pull level scraping the water below and sending a tall mist of water up high. Acceding a little he'd spin the ship before leaving it sideways to fit though the first closing gap. it would then spin more shifting slightly down and to the right as he shot the pillar at the tip that was resting between of the walls of the gorge. It would slowly fall till its weight caused the massive rock to split. It was then the ship shuddered as the port engine began to fail. In the back of his own mind Taneas knew that the stress of fancy flying was going to cause it to cut or even burst into flames, but if he didn't then the man would likely be shot from out the sky.

"Break formation, move to intercept. I'll run him down."

The Dark Lord spun his fighter around in an aileron roll as he trailed the Dynamic-class freighter, his targeting crosshair never wavering too far from the ship's rear in either direction. The other fighters would break away from the Subjugator, flying high above the gorge along a relatively straight vector; their eyes scanning for any possible intercept points.

Water sprayed the Sith Lord's cockpit, momentarily blurring his vision though the Force kept his altitude steady and his path true. He suddenly turned his fighter ninety degrees as he followed the Dynamic through the tight gap in the rock face, his finger squeezing the trigger to let off several glancing shots as he kept pace. The freighter attempted to shake off his dogged pursuit by dislodging a precariously perched rock pillar from the canyon walls, stones previously undisturbed tumbling down to pelt the hull of the Sith starfighter as the pilot willed itself to fly fast and low in order to outrun the crumbling debris.
Carnifex moved to reorient his targeting reticle back on the freighter, and opened up a salvo with his heavy cannons.

Once again the ship came under fire making the ship shudder with each impact. The shield's had almost depleted and once that happens he knew there was no way out. Taneas jerked the controls to take a tight turn then pulled back on the throttle to half his speed hoping that the pursuer would fly over the top. In seconds it would scraping close to the top of his ship. Both index fingers would press down onto the triggers unleashing a volley of shots as the ship sped up. Although now he could feel the damaged engine misfire.

Each time the ship felt as it pulled back as the engine lost power. "Come on, not now damn it." The man said in frustration. It was then that the engine stopped and now a ship from overhead dived down spraying gunfire over the midsection of the hull. The shields broke after a few shots so the hull ended up taking light damage. He'd take a wide turn around the upcoming bend with more shots flying his way. "Damn I cant keep this up." He said feeling the sweat crawl down his forehead. His hands shifted across the controls shifting power to the one good engine. It was then he realised he had lost sight of the other ship.

The freighter pulled back on the throttle, and Carnifex had to pull his Subjugator up at the last second to avoid smashing into the back of his opponent. His sensors lit up as the rear shields shimmered from the impact of the freighter's cannons peppering his aft, causing the Dark Lord to push his starfighter faster than he had previously in their little dogfight; pulling hard to swing his ship up into the sky to break the target lock and regroup.

By then the rest of his squad had swung around to intercept, and several interceptors swung low to strafe the ailing freighter as it hobbled along. It was clear that the freighter was on its last leg, it had taken a considerable beating from the Subjugator and was now experiencing engine failure.

There was no better time than now to deliver the coup de grâce.

Carnifex swung his fighter around again, re-centering his lock on the freighter as it turned wide around a bend. His thumb caressed the trigger as he switched from heavy lasers to proton torpedoes, waiting until the right moment to pop off a pair as the lock indicator glowed a brilliant green.

It was a matter of seconds before the ship was hit with torpedo's shredding most of the back end of the ship off. The ship it's self would scrape across the wall for a moment before spinning off and bouncing across the surface of the water. His harness kept him safe for the most part as the ships spun about before finally coming to a halt in the shallow water. The clear liquid would rush into the ship quickly pooling around his cybernetic legs. The buckle had become stuck and the man Beskad's was out of reach. His hand clamped around the metal and pulling hard on it to pull it apart. There was no difficulty in pulling the buckle apart as like his legs his arms was also cybernetic. If anything his crazy idea to have his real ones swapped for cybernetics was a good one.

He was one for efficiency and so far they'd not let him down. As he stood the man could feel something cold crawl down from his forehead. his hand touched it as equally cold and then looked to see the blood. Something on the way down had hit him but Taneas didn't feel a thing. Looking around the cockpit he saw that the way out was collapsed in. pulling a draw open that was under the console he'd take out the weapons and holstering them. Even the rouged looking man knew that if the entire thing wasn't on fire or scattered completely then it was possible to survive, and for some reason he had a gut instinct they'd be back. A thumb would press down on a small detonator as Taneas placed it against the glass and moved as far back as he could. The explosive shattered the glass and a puff of fire and smoke quickly filled the room. It could also be seen from outside. Wasting no time He'd dive though the gap to avoid staying in the heat to long.

"Maintain air superiority."

The interceptors complied and continued to buzz through the air, occasionally strafing the shallow water around the downed freighter to corral the pilot towards the nearby shore. Meanwhile the Subjugator touched down on a nearby bluff, the lack of a landing harness or landing gears forcing the Sith Lord to seek out the flattest ground he could and rest the entirety of the ship on the solid surface. The pilot's hatch flung open as the gargantuan Lord hauled himself out of his fighter, jumping down to ground before sliding down the gradual incline that comprised the bluff's slopes.

The only weapon he had was his lightsaber, which he activated as he neared the water's edge. "Come out, General Haring. Time for you to join the Republic in the grave."

There was one sound he would always remember. The one sound engraved into his skull, and that was the snap hiss of a lightsaber. The man scrambled to his feat keeping low as he moved around the ship to keep out of sight. The sparks crackling from the ship and the creaking of the hull as it heated up kept the sound of his movements as he began to climb onto the ship its self that was. A quick look around and there was no way out of the place. He was trapped and Taneas knew he'd not be able to out run a force user. If not for their impeccable speed then their magic would put a stop to him quickly. Still distance was his ally here. Taneas crouched down by the turret as he clipped bullets to somewhere more easily accessible then pulled out his guns. He didn't need to be accurate with them at least either way a sith couldn't block the rounds his gun fired.

Taneas couldn't believe he was about to go toe to toe with a sith, especially since he had no back up. With a low sigh the man stood up gracing the sith with a villainous smile as he pointed his guns towards the sith. "Heh and here I was thinking some young punk got the better of me, but hell you look just as old as I do." He said with a small chuckle. The words really meant nothing it wasn't really a taunt as much as it was just idle words. His eyes kept tracking the man that now stood at the edge of the water.

"Come now, General. This needn't be a horrid affair, I am willing to grant you a warrior's death if you'd only acquiesce."

That was the only scrap of mercy the general would get from someone like Carnifex, and the latter was betting that the old soldier would reject his meager offer. Whatever the reply, the Dark Lord of the Sith had no intention of letting this man leave this valley alive.

He had come to snuff out his flame forever.

To punctuate that point, the Dark Lord sent a burst of telekinetic energy towards the downed freighter; causing the ship to slide backwards out of the shallow water and towards the deeper end of the lake. The General would have to make a decision fast if he didn't want to be swallowed by the aeration of the oxygen escaping from the ship as it sunk.

"Come on now. You ..." The ship began to tremble under his feet as he saw it push away from the small closed off shore line. "Don't expect me to go down without a fight now do you." He said running from behind the cover of the turret with haste and then along the length of the ship. In one last stride the hydraulics in the legs would aid him as the man leaped. The guns facing forward at the target letting a shot from both pistol's . They'd look as if the guns shot regular rounds however they we're designed to deal with the likes of force users. The shots propelled at phenomenal speed and it's spread enough to be accurate but near impossible to stop with a lightsaber.

He came crashing down into the shallows of water causing a large splash. Taneas's arm raised to his face letting the water soak into the sleeve. "No if you plan to kill me then I'm just going to make your world a whole load more difficult." His stance would drop into one where he could move faster but handle the recoil slightly better.

As expected the man surged forth to escape his doom, popping off several shots at the Dark Lord with his slugthrowers. With the same raised hand that sent the freighter off to its doom Carnifex conjured a shimmering wall of Force energy that caught and absorbed the impact of the point twenty eight gauge rounds as they came to a deadstop against the shield. "The fight is irrelevant, your death has already been preordained by the Force."

The caught projectiles radiated with the intensity of a star, the metal that comprised them melting down into molten slag as the Dark Lord used his mastery of Sith Alchemy to transmogrify the solidity of the slugs into white-hot liquid. Then they were fused and reformed into a spike half a meter in length, dark and ancient runes inscribed in minute detail all across its surface. Through the power of tutaminis the kinetic energy of each individual projectile had been absorbed and stored within the Dark Lord's body, but now that was being repurposed to fuel the launch of this amalgamated spike through the air towards the General's chest.
