"Madame Prime Minister, I rise today for the last time in this esteemed body, to thank you personally as well as my fellow cabinet and senate colleagues for an extraordinary term. We have faced some challenges together, but unfortunately our time together has come to an end. As you may be aware, following some troubling personal news, I have submitted my resignation to the Governor-General of New Holstice, effective at the end of the business day today. The Governor-General will appoint my successor as soon as is practicable until the next election. The seals of my Ministry Office will be delivered to your possession by the end of the business day today. It has been a great privilege to serve my people in this august body and a great honor for me to serve, in some small way, in your government, Madame Prime Minister. I shall always think of you as my right honorable friend. Thank you again. I yield the floor and I reserve no further time."

MEANWHILE ON OSSUS​

Mantic watched the senate floor debate from the holo-cast that was taking place in the public area of the Jedi temple on Ossus. He was listening casually as he was at the same time patching his robe with needle and thread. It was a challenge to keep the robe in one piece when running about in war zones and time had taken its toll on his equipment in general. If he was to continue escort senators he would need to sow a sepearete robe for that puspose. We cant have jedi escorts looking like trash when the senators are to represent. No indeed. He smiled.

As Senator [member="Aurelia Volcata"] took the word Mantic stopped and decided to listen more intently. After all, she was one of the senators he had been given the honor to escort in the past. His first recognition of joy quickly turned into a more grim expression. [member="Aurelia Volcata"] had been a powerful voice of the republic and even though he knew she had different opinions then some others he had not expected this. He felt a sting of sorrow to see this unwrap on the senate floor. It was the way of democracy though and it was her right to step down. But something inside him gave him a bad feeling. Was this the first of many?

 

[Geneviève Lasedri]

Lasedri arose in unison with the senator from New Holstice to honor her departure, a hint of sorrow passing over her eyes for a moment as she heard the last words [member="Aurelia Volcata"] would utter in-session. Her most trusted member of this Senate body was now to fall away, and it brought little comfort to the stressed Prime Minister.

"Proschayte, tovarisch," she uttered in an Outer Rim tongue that some of the Rebel Alliance's members had adopted back in the day. The phrase carried more weight to her in the foreign speech. [Farewell, comrade.]

Kay sighed and bowed her head to the Lady, not quite sure of the reasons behind it but it wasn't her business. There are so few Senate members that she had spoken with outside if the Senate, and Senator Volcata was one of them. And now, she was leaving.

"Good journeys...You will be missed."

 

[Faith Organa]

Feth!

Giant frown kissed Faith's lips, curving down wards. "Clear Skies" Faith did not know what else to think or say about it. It was just sad.
Loss, something she wasn't handling very well.

 

[Cecily Demici]

To say the least, Cecily was quite surprised at this sudden resignation of her colleague. They would need to act fast to find her replacement as she was one of the key Ministers of the government. On the other hand... now Cecily would be shouldered with more responsibility as the Senior Minister and de facto deputy of the government.

She politely raised a glass of clear liquid, of the no doubt, mental inhibiting kind and downed the entire glass as her counterpart made her formal exit. 'Oh goody, more responsibility' she sighed.
