TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
  • Classification:Tank
  • Role: Main Battle Tank
  • Size: Large
  • Weight: Heavy
  • Armaments:
    • Turret-Mounted Heavy Laser Cannon
      • Primary anti-armor / anti-fortification weapon. Tuned for sustained fire rather than “single-shot terror.”
    • Coaxial Medium Repeating Blaster
      • Infantry suppression, light vehicle engagement, anti-drone use.
    • Commander’s Remote Weapon Station (RWS) Light Repeating Blaster
      • Independent top-cover against infantry, rooftops, and close ambush.
    • Dual Modular Missile Pod (turret side mount)
      • Swappable pod types depending on mission:
      • HE/Fragmentation (infantry / light cover)
      • Anti-Armor guided (tank-kill / bunker punch)
      • Airburst smart rounds (drones / entrenched troops)
    • Deployable Countermeasure Launchers (smoke/chaff/flare equivalents)
    • Obscuration and spoofing (especially against guided weapons and sensors).
  • Defenses:
    • Composite Laminate Armor + Spall Liner
    • Directional Deflector Shielding (localized, front-arc priority / burst use)
    • Active Protection System (hard-kill intercept + soft-kill jamming)
    • NBC/CBRN sealed crew capsule + fire suppression
  • Maneuverability Rating: Average
  • Speed Rating: High
  • Propulsion: (Repulsorlift, Wheels, Tracks, Bipedal, Quadrupedal)
  • Minimum Crew: 2 (driver + commander/gunner)
  • Optimal Crew: 3 (driver, gunner, commander)
  • Passenger Capacity: 2 (emergency jump-seat capacity only; not a transport)
  • Cargo Capacity: Small (ammo stowage, tool kits, mission kits)
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Commonwealth BattleNet datalink (shares target tracks with infantry, drones, and close air)
  • Multi-spectrum sensor mast (thermal / low-light / lidar-style ranging / battlefield mapping)
  • Hunter–Killer fire control (commander can hand off targets to gunner instantly)
  • Run-flat armored tire system + self-sealing hubs
  • Shock-isolated turret + stabilized firing on the move
  • Autonomous “limp-home” driver assist (route guidance + obstacle avoidance at reduced speed)
  • Quick-change mission pod mounts (missile pod swaps, sensor pod swaps, EW pod swaps)
STRENGTHS
  • Fast for an MBT: excels at redeploying, flanking, and urban response.
  • Modular lethality: missile pods and electronics packages let it pivot roles without a totally new hull.
  • Crew survivability: spall liners, suppression systems, and sealed capsule reduce catastrophic kills.
WEAKNESSES
  • Not a siege behemoth: it wins by maneuver and combined arms, not by out-tanking dedicated super-heavies.
  • Wheels are a signature: mines/terrain traps can mobility-kill it faster than tracked tanks if careless.
  • Shielding is tactical, not permanent: localized shield bursts protect in “oh kriff” moments, not extended duels.
DESCRIPTION
The Selim-type Main Battle Tank became the Commonwealth’s answer to the galaxy’s bad habits: oversized intimidation platforms, fragile towering walkers, and repulsor bricks that drink maintenance hours like water. Designed for a successor-state military that expects to hold ground and govern, the Selim-type prioritizes speed, survivability, and sensor dominance over terror optics. Its heavy laser cannon provides reliable anti-armor and bunker-punch capability, while its coaxial and remote weapon stations keep infantry from turning the tank into a rolling coffin in dense cities. The distinctive modular missile pods are a doctrinal choice—Commonwealth armored battalions can tailor vehicles for an operation (urban pacification, frontier defense, or counter-armor) without changing the entire platform.

In practice, the Selim-type thrives as the armored “knife” in a combined-arms package: infantry screens its flanks, drones feed it target tracks, and aerospace elements finish what it pins in place. It is at its best when it can see first, move first, and strike first—and it pays a price when forced into static slugging matches against specialized heavy armor or when caught in mine-sown kill zones without engineers and route-clearance support.
