PRODUCTION INFORMATION
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
  • Classification: Zweihänder/Polearm Styled Longsword
  • Size: Very Large - 200 cm
  • Weight: Average - 2 kgs
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Attuned Velmorite shards impregnated within the sword provide a limited Area of effect akin to Valor, or Enhance Attribute. Allowing the wielder to move more easily with the blade, despite its size.
  • Lorridian Gemstone aids in the natural abilities of Perception based powers such as Precognition, and Reflexive force powers. Providing easier usage of the sword overall, as well as the user's surroundings.
  • While Wielding the sword, the user is afforded the ability Force Body. Aiding in their connection to the force in turn for the potential to damage their own physical body.
  • Mono-molecular Edge sharpened by Svolten Rhyolite to create a permanently sharpened blade with the best possible edge for cutting and slicing.
  • Force-Imbued properties that consist of; Extreme durability, superior cutting power compared to other edged weaponry, Ability to damage Force entities.
  • Lunar-Tempered Steel has the natural affinity of the force. Providing intense cold effects, a frostbite effect, as well as a deterrence ability for Dark sided wielders should they attempt to wield the weapon. This is only influenced even more with the addition of a layer of Ostrine used for an Edge much like a Hamon upon a Katana.
STRENGTHS
  • Force Edge: Created using a Force-imbued Steel, and then compounded upon with two crystals that afford a deeper connection to the force in multiple uses, the sword is much more easily controlled in the hands of the warrior who wields it. Even more so when the sword gives the wielder the attribute of Force Body. Known for its potency in strengthening the user to move faster, act quicker beyond typical human capacities. Fighting with an endurance that is unrivaled. Secondly, it provides Force Valor to those around the Wielder. Allowing them to fight with better spirits, and even inspire them to go beyond... Plus Ultra!
  • Cold Justice: Wielded as a Light-sided artifact, as well as the Lunar-Tempered Steel, with a secondary layer of Ostrine as an Edge, the weapon has a Frostbite effect upon its victims. Causing damage to tissue and organic creatures. Limited cases can just be severe cold and Damage to skin tissue. Severe cases can be deadened nerves, Necrosis of dead tissue, and even flash freezing where the victim from multiple wounds, or constant contact can literally freeze to death due to the sapping of their body heat.
  • Ease of Use: Utilizing a larger blade, increases the chance of vibrations from impact to injure the user. Secondly, the usage of Velmorite and Loridian Gemstones within various places within the blade and the pommel aid the user in the usage of the weapon. Mainly being able to react much more quickly to their surroundings, as well as more easily move with it. Defending is easier, so is swinging it in fluid graceful like motions. Due to the weapons creator being Echani, as well as a Matukai Adept, this is almost essential in its construction.
WEAKNESSES
  • Corrupted Heart: As a Lightsided artifact, one of the main downsides, is that should the wielder use a Dark Sided power, the sword will start to freeze them. Causing frostbite, or outright causing them to become frozen in place, have necrosis of the flesh due to dead tissue. Secondly, should a Dark Side Force user attempt to wield the weapon, they will find themselves rapidly being affected by this cold effect. Much faster than just someone using a Dark sided power.
  • Aided, Not Replaced: While the wielder of the sword can be afforded the ability Force Body naturally, The rest of the effects presented by the sword aid in the usage of the other possible abilities. It is completely reliant upon the users ability to use them. The sword only aids them in their connection to the force to use those specific abilities alone. It isn't a Force Nexus that can just give "Unlimited Powah!" it is restricted to those effects.
  • Die by the Sword: A sword that is so long, it is more akin, and aptly used like a polearm due to its size. As such, the weapon is large and cumbersome when in tight spaces. Making it difficult for usage in hallways that are smaller, or when attempting to fight someone at an extremely close range.
  • Just Put on a Jacket: Wearing armor that is resistant to cold effects can negate some of the properties of the sword. While the weapon can still freeze and cause thermal shock to items, it is much harder to do with items that can resist cold temperatures, or are naturally hotter and thus take longer to sap the heat from.
  • No Limits: As with utilizing Force Body upon the user, There is an extremely high chance that the wielder can be injured gravely, or receive a fatal wound and would continue to fight past it. Many can attribute it to a "Battle Rage" or "Adrenaline Rush" That makes the user unaware of any injuries they sustain. While on paper this is great, in practice, it could mean constant movement, and fighting would make the wound worse, lose blood faster, and even surpass their physical limitations to be extremely dangerous to the user. This can prove to be fatal to those who do not take heed to this, and can easily end up dead and the weapon taken.
  • Sore Thumb: Due to the creation process of the weapon, the naturally Force Rich signature of the weapon, plus the wielder makes it impossible to hide within the force. The only way to hide would be to use a Taozin amulet. However, due to its "Nullification" of a Force signature, and this weapons main ability to remove such nullification or suppression, it too, is a worthless endeavor. NOTHING can hide the signature of this weapon.
  • Uno Reverse Card: Due to the size of the sword, as well as the matierals used, the weapon is resistant to blasters and lightsabers, but cannot redirect the bolts at the attacker, nor can it be used to redirect lighting or other force powers like other Sith Swords, or Lightsabers can do.
  • Not Quite Sharp Enough: While the weapon is extremely sharp, and is permanently done so, it does not have the cutting power of a Lightsaber, or other like minded weapons. As such, it requires more force, or multiple strikes to cut through thicker plate armor. However, Hides of flesh or skin are not exempt from this due to the nature of the Frostbite causing Thermal Shock to the skin, and thus making it actually easier to cut through flesh.
  • Force Nullification: With the introduction of the force to the blade, formed much akin to the Force-Imbued blades of eons past, the weapon and its abilities can be hampered by Force Suppression and other like minded effects.
DESCRIPTION
Anora Shaw. Echani-Atoan half-breed. A woman who has trained within the force to further her natural talents with her body, and force them to become almost supernatural through training in the martial arts of the Echani, Firedancers, and the Matukai. All well known for their ability for using melee weapons that were larger than your average sword. In fact, The Matuaki were known for using a weapon called the Wan-Shen. A polearm with a bladed end which were replaced by the typical lightsabers. These weapons were used to such an efficiency, to onlookers, would watch as a whirlwind of limbs and blades were used in a fluid and graceful form. A Dance of Blades, and Body working together as one. Formless like water.

Taking inspiration from both the usage of a Ritual brand, A double bladed sword, as well as a Wan-Shen, Anora wanted to create a weapon that was much longer, utilizing the aspects of a polearm, while sticking the the roots of using a single sword of the Echani. Known for their icy cold vibroswords that could resist lightsabers. More so, with the newest creation of Lunar-Tempered Steel, the weapon is able to afford an extremely cold striking edge, while also Providing easier usage through various means of the force, crystals, and textiles used within the construction of the blade. That way, Anora can continue to fight, continue to flow and be seamless within her movements and actions.

Under the training of her Father, Darren Shaw, she has learned much on how to use swords. Namely two handed swords as Darren has been seen throughout the years using Claymores, Nodachi, Executioner swords, and even Bastard swords. Being trained to use larger weapons only amplifies her training with polearms in the use of the Wan-shen. While she does enjoy the idea of using such a weapon, she doesn't feel like its enough. Not that the weapon is lacking, but more so due to the fact that your "striking edge" is almost limited to a blunt smack of a pole, or the blade of a halberd like weapon. Requiring more precise aim and usage. While she has no doubt she would easily be able to use the weapon, she herself is more comfortable in using swords. So, finding a style of weapon to fit this style would work best. Hence the Zweihander. In a language, known for being used as a massive two handed sword, more along the lines of a polearm due to its size and reach compared to your average long sword, yet also having a thin enough blade so that one could easily "Half-sword" or in other terms, make a hand placement upwards along the length of the sword's edge, holding it by the flat of the blade, or even gripping it with gloves to give a superior control over the point of the weapon, or bring the weapon in closer to use more like a polearm to defend one's self.

Runes written upon the cruciform styled grip and guard, showed detailed designs of a tapestry, while the pommel shows a crescent moon with a few stars in the background. Owing her heritage to the Echani people. Known for their likeness to the moon and their goddess. Within the pommel is a Lorridian Gemstone which aids in the heightened perception that Echani are known for. Precognition like attributes due to their Martial arts, and Firedancing styles where it flows more akin to a dance, rather than a typical sword fight. Teaching from the Matukai only influence this more. Known for their affinity for polearms with an lethality that can rarely be compared to anything else.

Putting this here to circle back to it.

You utilize some of the best aspects of Force Body for this sub. The thing I instantly note here is that the weaknesses aren't also conveyed.

"ignoring and sacrificing their health and well-being in order to sustain their connection to the Force."

I'm game for an enhancement, but is there an inherent danger? Will they go beyond a safe, comfortable limit and begin to do harm to their body?

Does holding the sword thusly override natural limiters and cause the user to recklessly sacrifice of their continued health for the duration? These are questions that jump at me immediately.

There's one big hitch here, and it involves the Force severance bit. Due to how Ysalamir bubbles work, they don't actively cut the person off from the Force in a way that they're simply not connected to it, the bubbles create a null zone within them. Therefore, even if the user were to have the ability to persist severance or simulate the Force within themselves, the Force wouldn't be there, within that bubble, for them to interact with.

So I'd have to say this wouldn't counteract that particular type of sever. What it would do, is say, if someone used the Light side of the Force to block someone off from the ability to use it, or actively used Force Sever, they could use Force Body (this sword, in this case) to shake off those effects or continue to channel the Force in spite of them.

Likewise, with Void Stone, it doesn't actually stop you from using the Force. It makes it harder for you to channel it, by offering a specific type of mental feedback that pains the end user when they concentrate on the Void Stone. I would say that Force Body- that is, sacrificing of your life essence to bolster the Force- could let you bypass that mental pain by using your lifeforce to back whatever power you use. Like lifting with your legs instead of your back, but instead, you're lifting with your soul instead of your mind. Does that make sense?

So, with that said, would you please alter the submission with those things in mind?

I do understand what you are saying. Specifically about the fields, However, I do have to point out one thing.

Specifically Force Suppression is the ability in which the user "Tricks" or makes the person perceive that the force is no longer connected with them. As the Ysalamir create a "Field" around them, rather than actively use the ability upon an individual person. It is a area around the reptile that passively makes the user feel as though they no longer have the force. The Link for the Ysalamir also confirms this. One Lizard can emit a limited area around themselves. However, if multiple individuals were to "combine" their presences it would increase the range, up to Kilometers in the description. Akin to using Force Meld.

The Ysalamir Wikipedia directly links to the ability "Force Suppression" Not a "Nullification" where upon the force "Doesn't exist." Where as according to Chaos Canon, Some places in the Netherworld, do not have the force at all. Where it matches your description of the force "Not existing" due to the fluctuation of the Netherworld event detailing Akala and her power.

Secondly, the effect of the Void Stone as you mentioned reduced the effectiveness of the force upon or around a person. Yes, it also impairs their connection to the force, and I would be more inclined to have that changed to where Void Stone can still diminish the power of the sword since it is "Vague" and isn't a mental manipulation.

Thus, this effect of the sword, acting as a "Bolstering" effect of the wielder to fight off the effect of a mental manipulation is still valid.

"Rather, they projected a bubble inside which users were unable to exert any influence over the Force."

This part is starkly contrasted to Force Suppression, in that instead of tricking the mind via the Force, the Force itself is denied within it's domain.

I'm more inclined to work with the rest of the items in question, but short of killing the Ysalamir to end its bubble effect, I can't just approve something that ignores them.

Ysalamiri did not actually negate the Force; since all existence was infused with Force energy, this would not be possible. Rather, they projected a bubble inside which users were unable to exert any influence over the Force.

They do not negate the force. Which is where my point begins. The force is still there. It exists even within this influence. It's just that those who enter it can't use the force due to the passive use of Force Suppression. Which can be fought against. And there have been occurrences where people have been completely severed from the force, yet are able to regain it once more.

The weakness does say that it cannot completely defend against these actions from the sword alone. It is dependant upon the user, as well as the power of this suppression. One Ysalamir could be defended against, however any more, and it would be futile to do so. As per the usage of Force body, trying to resist too hard, trying to force yourself to have a deeper connection to the force would kill them of they tried. This is what it adds up to.

you can attempt to resist this suppression for as long as you want, but doing so, only weakens the user to such a degree, it will kill them of they tried. A minute or two? Maybe. Any longer is flirting with death.

this sword is not a hard counter, nor is it outright ignoring what is there. The counter can be beaten, and in doing so, injure or kill the user.

Here is where I feel it is appropriate to edit. where the wielder of the sword is only able to directly influence themselves when within this field. As they would be so deeply ingrained with their own connection, they cannot perform outward displays of the force. Telekinesis, telepathy, Force Valor, Battle meditation, all wouldn't work. However just keeping a connection to the force so that one could only affect themselves. And vise versa. Someone attempting to affect the wielder of the sword with one of those abilities would be blocked from aiding them due to not being protected with the aid of the weapon, as well as the field preventing the force from reaching them should the ally be outside the influence of the bubble, bit attempting to reach inward.

Secondly, the usage of Force body, must be used before entering or being affected by such field. The ability is not passive upon the sword. Therefore, one could walk in without using the sword as a conduit for that power. Once inside, they can't use the force just like anyone else. It has to be premeditated and fought with it in mind. So such things as force nullification rounds, venom or like wise, would still affect the wielder as well.

Having read through the submission, reviewed the arguments and discussed this with other members of staff I've decided that this use of Force Body, while innovative, isn't something that we can pass through.

Ysalamir are generally used as a weakness for force artefacts on chaos, that is to say, that the sword's abilities should be useless in the presence of one of the lizards or near a void stone.

Furthermore, there is no canon precedent for force body countering the effects of a Ysalamir, or any other force defeating tool. It was present in Kotor 2 where neither Ysalamir or void stones were present.

As such I'm going to hand this back to the judge in question with the request you remove that special ability.

John Locke John Locke Thank you for your ruling. I understand that the site needs a form of balance for the fight against force users, and have thus removed the effects of resisting force suppression, and other related abilities.

Alkor Centaris Alkor Centaris Thank you for Judging this submission. I have edited the sub to remove all mention of being resistant to such effects. I also added the weakness of being hampered by Force suppression effects. If I missed anything please do let me know.
