Long ago, a mind witch known as S'ybll discovered stone columns on a world called Seidhkona. She discovered that these stones augmented her telepathic abilities, granting her greater power with them when she was near the stones. She used these stones in order to trap any who wandered too close to her lair in order to drain them of their life energies to rejuvenate herself. She did this for some time until being killed by Jedi Master Luke Skywalker.
In Hircine's travels throughout the galaxy, she came across these stones. Fascinated by the runic inscriptions upon them, she studied them for sometime, hoping to decipher their meaning. While she was studying, a squad of troopers approached her, their guns at the ready and aimed at her. Before they could manage to pull their triggers, Hircine forced them to turn their guns on each other until none were left standing.
She inspected the bodies for any clues as to who the troopers were sent by and, eventually, found their orders to the planet. Their orders stated that they were sent to the planet in order to collect samples of the stone columns for testing their ability to augment a telepath's abilities. A light bulb went off for Hircine. She realized that the stones gave her the power to cause the troopers to turn against each other. She hadn't been able to fool someone's mind that fast before, let alone multiple minds at once. With this newly acquired info, she took some of the stones for herself and destroyed the rest in fear of the columns power getting into unworthy hands.
