Risin' up, back on the street

Location: Naboo - Theed Streets
Objective: Locate Jedi Seer
Tags: Kahne Porte Kahne Porte

Katarine Ryiah was troubled. A few nights ago, during a dream, she had slipped into a Force vision that foretold a prophecy. This was a new experience for the woman. She had received visions before but never really prophecies. She was not quit sure what to do with the new information but she knew the Force well enough to know that she had to trust in it. The New Jedi Order had records of a Jedi Master who kept to Naboo and was proclaimed to be a Jedi Seer. Katarine felt like he might be able to help her with this vision and hopefully help her interpret what it meant.

She just had to find the man. She was starting in Theed, the most well known of the cities on Naboo. She walked along the vendors selling merchandise and marveled at the architecture. Katarine had a fondness for Naboo. Once upon a time after Order 66 she'd tried to build a life here with her husband. That had gone sour very fast and the memory still hurt her. Her boots carried her automatically down the alleyways and streets that would take her to the dwelling that had once been her home to share with James Terran. His betrayal still stung but she couldn't keep her feet from wandering that way. When her deep green eyes fell upon the tiny house with a bird bath out front she blinked back tears. Her past stung like a hidden wasp desperate to spread its poison.

She needed to find this Master Porte and meet him about her vision but for now... for now Katarine just allowed herself to feel the heartache of her past.

"That should be all of it." Kahne said with a smile as he glanced over to the speeder and then back to the large storage container. Kahne had taken today to assist some of the local shops with their supplies as it seemed a small sickness had broken out and many of the shop workers were out. Some of these shops had been around for quite some town and the owners were indeed elderly and such. Things like this, is what made him happy and he was glad to see the smiles on the faces of the Naboo populace. They had to know that they were cared for, and that they were not alone in this galaxy.

The Jedi were there for them, and no matter what they would get through even the toughest of times.

Kahne glanced around the crowd for a few moments, and he noted an individual. He noted her force signature and it seemed incredibly familiar. However he knew he had never seen or met her before. She seem troubled.....almost scarred.

He waited for her to almost pass before he spoke.

"Good day my friend." The Jedi voiced with a small smile. "Forgive my intrusion, but are you okay?"

"Good day my friend." The Jedi voiced with a small smile. "Forgive my intrusion, but are you okay?"

Katarine turned as someone spoke to her as she passed. She could feel his signature in the Force. It was a strong light and she wondred if perhaps he would be able to help her find Master Porte. Perhaps he was another Jedi, like her.

"Oh, yes, actually I am looking for someone and I"m a bit lost. Do you know where I can find a Jedi Master named Kahne Porte?"

She let her deep green eyes travel over his face and wondered, could this be the master she was looking for?

The Jedi Master chuckled lightly as he nodded his head. "I do know where you can find him."

That's pretty lucky....
The Jedi Master mused, however the force worked in mysterious ways sometimes. Perhaps they were destined to meet and he would be able to help her with what issue or problem she had going.

"He's me." Kahne said with a smile as he extended his hand out towards her. "Kahne Porte at your service. There's a good cafe spot a few blocks away. Let's get a drink and you can tell me what troubles you my friend."

Went the distance, now I'm back on my feet

The Force certainly did work in mysterious ways as this stranger turned out to be the exact man she was searching for. She followed him to the cafe he spoke of and together they took a seat. A server took their order and rushed off to fulfill the request, allowing Katarine to study the man in front of her. He seemed a genuine soul who truly cared about others.

"Master Porte my name is Katarine Ryiah. I am with The New Jedi Order and they said you might be able to interpret a vision I had in the Force. It was weird... more of a prophecy that interrupted my sleep. I think it's trying to tell me something and I was told you had knowledge as a Jedi Seer."

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Katarine Ryiah." The Jedi Master spoke with a smile as he extended his hand towards the woman. Afterwards he motioned for her to follow him, leading towards the cafe spot. The Jedi Master listened intently to her experience and her words when it came to the vision and what was described. However seeing into the future and finding the hidden meaning behind visions were somewhat tricky.

They neared the cafe as Kahne inquired about the woman.

"If I may ask my friend, tell me about yourself?" The Jedi Master inquired, seeking more about who she was, that could help the more they spoke about the vision she had. He would do all he could to help her figure out the meaning behind this vision. Once this was figured out, she would be more at peace and have a better understanding of everything she is experiencing in general.

"If I may ask my friend, tell me about yourself?"

Katarine wasn't really sure where to begin with this question. She didn't mind him asking it, she just didn't want to be rude and give him her whole sordid history, especially since it currently covered over nine hundred years of time.

"Well, there isn't much to tell. I was born 41 years before the Battle of Yavin. I fought in the Clone Wars, but obviously I'm here now. I woke up from a long carbonation freeze in Theed Hospital three years ago. I battled hibernation sickness during that time. I was released from the hospital six months ago and in that time I've been trying to figure out the galaxy. It's... quit different than it used to be. In my day The Republic was basically the entire galaxy and the Jedi were all united under one banner. Now the Jedi are everywhere and they seemed to work together but they don't all follow the same Council. All of the organizations have their own leaderships. I joined the New Jedi Order but I've felt out of place there. The Jedi... are in a lot of wars. They seem to be fighting for different government expansion. It's not a model I'm used to."

She felt like she had spoke too much so she took a sip of her water.

The Jedi Master definitely intrigued by her history, and this would need to be fully understood to assist her to understand what her vision was telling her. However, like any thing, she would have to understand, he could help her understand the meaning.

But it was up to her to figure out what exactly it was telling her to do.

"I understand where you are coming from. Things have definitely evolved over the last few centuries. Opinions, views, mantras it all changes. The Jedi too have evolved, in order to preserve peace one must be willing to fight for it. You will find your place in this galaxy my friend, it may require you to change your thoughts and views on things, or it may not. Regardless of that, the Jedi still stand together united against their common enemy."

The Jedi Master took a deep breath, then taking a drink from his cup. "I sense you are holding on to what your past life was, before you were in carbonite. Unfortunately, there is no going back to that time. From what I can understand, your vision is telling you to seek out those that believe as you do. But before you can even start, you must try to understand what your thoughts and views are now. You must find out who you want to be in this galaxy, before the next stage begins."

"Who are you."
The Jedi Master said, not as a question. But as statement for herself to look within herself. "There is more to the prophecy than that, you have a lot of work to do my friend."

Katarine could understand why people sought out Master Porte to interpret visions. He was wise and calm in his demeanor and it helped her think and process the message of what she had seen in her vision. She took a sip of the tea that had been brought and found the warming taste also calming.

"I find it... disheartening to see the galaxy still at war like it was when I was frozen. It makes me suspect that war is the natural order of things..."

She trailed off, lost in thought.

"How do you fit into the Jedi complexity if I may ask? Do you serve all the Jedi Orders?"

"I find it... disheartening to see the galaxy still at war like it was when I was frozen. It makes me suspect that war is the natural order of things..."

"It would seem that way...."
The Jedi Master said with an somber expression. He too had wondered this many years ago. If war was indeed the natural state of things. Peace had come in its own ways, stalemates between the Jedi and Sith had happened on several occasions. Wars would be over for a few months, maybe even a year at the most. And then something else would show up, prove to be more drastic and deadly than the rest.

"We must be strong and steadfast, and trust to hope. If we give up on those values, we are doomed. And, we must look to each other in the darkest of times."

"How do you fit into the Jedi complexity if I may ask? Do you serve all the Jedi Orders?"

"I do not serve all orders, there are many that will always have my aid should they need it. But until recently I've been content with living my life here on Naboo, with my family. Until recently a new order and government rose here on Naboo. With the constant threat against Naboo, I've pledged myself to this new order, the Shiraya Order that is headed by Briana Sal-Soren."
