Ayumi Pallopides

Heir to the Emperor, Former Senator of Denon
Beevin Kyr'am Beevin Kyr'am

The Upcity of Denon as a district was one of the more beautiful as the work continued and has a new government came to the world... Ayumi remained there in the district.. they were well away from the others and she had talked with Dominique Vexx Dominique Vexx if she should need any of their self sustaining or equipment. The Tower itself was situated in the center and she could see the lights of the Entertainment District as it was two tiered.. the opera, sport arena and fields for various high end displays. The other half of it was retailer shops, food establishments and cafe's... The different themed cafes of Upcity brought people from around the galaxy and they offered something for everyones taste and preferences. Ayumi a common sight down there as well as at the beach... the sandy shores cleaned by droids and maintained for all of them.

The former senator and force master had spent a lot of time working here afterall and from the surface to their towering shield projectors and environmental towers. Denon changed a lot but they endured... the shield shimmering and presenting a blue sky with fluffy looking clouds... something rare but it was part of the upcity itself. Their energy dome protecting but also heavily filtering everything that was coming through to protect the people. The security forces and their own maintained the checkpoints at the energy bridges as well as the ports to make sure safety and protection were given as Cato came in and held a cup for her to drink. The twi'lek stood there and her lekku moved along her shoulder as she spoke. "Still brooding from your tower? You know it works better when you go to the balcony."

Ayumi turned her head and looked at her with a raised eyebrow. "Funny, when did you get so mouthy?" She said it but there was no sarcasm to it... no bite. The twi'lek shrugged her shoulders as she was slender but muscled and would blend in with the desert sands for her skin tone. "More than likely around the time you stopped venturing to the other districts... or before." She said it with a look and if she had eyebrows... Ayumi was certain that they would be raised in a tease.... She looked at her more while taking the cup and a sip for a moment. The cooling liquid on her tongue before she turned away from the district and went back to her desk. The carved desk was covered with holograms showing the district with droids going around the construction efforts.

"HOw is the improvements going?" She said it and looked up as she sat down. Cato coming over and setting her cup down on the desk as she slipped a slender tablet from her sleeve. "We continued the expansion and improvements. The modular buildings as always help with upgrading and improvements... and now that Sasori has been working on their own expansions. We have been able to use them as well as the resource modules that they have produced. It will continue to allow us to be self sustaining and their newest technologies we will be able to utilize. The highest valued entertainment in their explorer facilities will draw a crowd as its premise will attract the ones who want to be weekend warriors but not lose their comfortable lives at the end of the day."

Ayumi gave a nod of her head to that. She had seen some of the reports about what they were working on... improvements were coming faster and faster which aided them as they had a direct line and from them to their people. She leaned back in her seat as she looked over all of the information. "It is good, we'll head out later and check around but largely we are maintaining daily." She spoke it before stretching her legs out where she was able to look. The large desks display going away so she could just sit there. "At least we can be lazy for now... the security patrols have reported nothing happening for the last several days even with the newest shifts in government. We might be able to do a lot more if they send people here looking to use the districts."

Entering the first, of what she assumed to be a series of various security checks, Beviin let her gaze wander over the premises which laid before her. Naturally, the entire district, even from afar, seemed to resemble more of a fortress than a place where people lived. Being divided by the endless depth that came along with being built several blocks apart from other districts and with long metal poles directed to the sky, almost akin to a monstrous hand of sorts, Beviin assumed that, just like the metaphorical hand, their purpose was to deter and if that failed, tear anything within range out of the sky. Even if such a blatant display of power usually just raised the stakes enough to attract unwanted attention, as she thought to herself. Needless to say, the safety of the city was the reason she was standing there as she was now, metaphorically speaking, naked and without anything that usually defined her, stripped of her armor and thus her identity, left with no weapons, no teeth to defend herself and reliant on others keeping the charade of a civilized world up. Keeping up the lie that it wasn't the one with the biggest stick that ruled, but rather the one with the moral high ground.

But then again, she was all the same. Being on the potentially receiving end for once certainly was an eye-opener in many regards, even if Beviin still felt oddly detached from the construct of submitting for something as trivial as searches and scanners. After all, usually she avoided such altogether. But even with the uncertainty that she felt now, Beviin hardly had to worry about anything. Unlike most of her peers she neither carried any implants that would give cause to raise suspicion, nor was her face known among the many scoundrels of the galaxy, seeing how she usually performed her work masked and shrouded in darkness. Needless to say, the first two security checks she performed without breaking a sweat.

By the time her luggage was inspected, Beviin hadn't hidden anything either and as her bag was opened and she began to neatly place its contents onto the plasteel table, nothing but harmless toiletries and soft, simple clothes were presented. Still, her show of acceptance hadn't been perfect and the guard, curiosity or maybe instinct taking over, called for one of his female colleagues, while giving Beviin the hint that there would be an additional search she had to go through and not too soon after, Beviin found herself confronted by a woman that might as well have passed as another species entire, judging by her towering size alone. Luckily for her, the "search" turned out to be nothing more than a mere pat-down, even if the stranger's fingers felt strong enough to break a bone if she truly wanted to do so. Not that Beviin was too keen on actually finding out.

Luckily for her, what followed was merely a long walk past guards that didn't raise an eyebrow at her and turrets that stood motionless for the most part, their sensors following her every step, yet their barrels - luckily - remaining silent. That, and the tedious walk past the energy bridge. Truth was, Beviin hadn't had many opportunities to walk past such bridges yet, seeing how rare they were in today's time. After all, upholding them was expensive both in maintenance and energy costs; their failure could be catastrophic and they usually were easily circumvented, seeing how any assault that was able to deploy an army likely had obliterated orbital defenses already and as such would have more than enough firepower to engage planetary batteries or deploy aerial support freely. For the Mandalorian right now, however, it meant that she had an unpleasant time watching the depth beneath her with every step as the barely noticeable hum of the bridge reminded her that any randomly popping fuze had the potential to make her a randomly popping carcass several hundred meters below.

By the time she finally passed the cursed bridge, she had her fill already and wasn't looking forward to repeating the journey any time soon. Even if her mission would require her to leave rather quickly, should she succeed. After all, staying after assassinating the former senator of Denon was anything but smart.

Ayumi spent her time there in her office for a moment longer as Cato remained there. THe twi'lek moving and overseeing what she was doing as they finished up. The towers workers switching as the day shift became the night shift... office workers who came through presenting to the security teams. Ayumi stretching out as she went up and from her office she went towards the penthouse of the building. Able to oversee much more of the district with the skyline that they had painstakingly built up properly. Cato standing there next to her while she breathed out for a moment. "Well it isn't changed but there are reports that the invisible market has been prosperous... the tife as it is from each sale in the district has been.... substantial."

She said it while looking over it. "Someone paid with a moon in the outer rim. We'll send a team to see if it is as valuable as needed but the credits have been put into the accounts as needed." She said it and was moving around the room while checking the balcony. "Jezara has transferred a few other things that were given as payment." She shrugged though while walking around and she leaned against the wall as Ayumi shrugged. "It happens, the marketplace is wild in its own way and we will be able to see... it is part of the reason for some of the highest security measures. Credits and exotics to such a degree most can't afford it." She laughed and while she was opposed to some of it... control could be a lot better and they were able to stop a lot.

"Though we'll just have to see, who knows maybe with these new officials in the Royal Naboo." Ayumi stopped her as she spoke. "Tsk tsk tsk... they are the High Republic now I believe." The twi'lek made a look that if she had hair might have been an eyebrow raised. The former senator had a look on her face though as a grin was tugging at her mouth. "As I was saying." The twi'lek was a model of professional decorum in many ways.... She always cared about seeing that but had to try and get one or two up on her. "And chances for your newest assistant is being done. We are scheduling open interviews in the morning to allow for potential ones we have not seen. The curated resumes have been... interesting in a few ways but they don't have any meat to their chosen responses."

Back at ground level, together with the rest of the commonfolk as she was herself, Beviin went over the mission details once more and recited what she knew. Weapons? Her employer, whoever they were, had assured her that she would be armed. While not her outside equipment, they assured her that she would receive some form of lightsaber, likely one with one of the new fake crystals and ranged weapons. Armor was, naturally, harder to come by, and as such,h she likely would have to improvise, either not being detected or stealing one, even if the latter bore a much higher chance of failure. After all, Beviin wouldn't be surprised if the security guards carried some form of implant or biomon. Not that it would hinder her from actually stealing the armor, but in turn making it much more dangerous for her to actually rely on using it to circumvent safety measures.

Exit strategy? Luckily, as with all things that were flying or situated in larger heights, coming down was usually never an issue. Living to tell the tale usually was. As far as Beviin knew, the district she was in was built in layers upon layers, every level built on top of another. Naturally, this meant that she would theoretically be able to find her way down to where defenses would be less and less, and until she finally reached the ground. Aside from this, given enough of a surprise, she might be able to capture a starfighter or transport long enough to be able to pass the defenses and land it somewhere relatively safe.

The way to achieve her goal, however, was much more uncertain and likely would have left her searing for a longer time, hadn't it been a near-miracle that allowed her to overhear someone speaking excitedly on the holo with another regarding a position she had been invited to apply for and seemingly hadnt passed the first stage, only to find out that a second round of interviews was being given for anyone to attend to. Not that the fact alone was particularly interesting to Beviin, seeing how content she was with the freedom her current occupation granted her and her general lack of willingness to change profession for the time being. What was certainly more interesting was the fact that the position seemed to be that of an assistant for her target. Honestly, the entire situation seemed too good to be true, almost like a trap, even. But then again, it also was her best chance of seeing what she dealt with. If she got the chance to get close at all, that was. To be fair, given how smoothly her entrance in the district had gone, she doubted she would be in danger even if the thing turned out to be a trap.

Naturally, her plans for the next day were set, and as she began working to find a place to stay at tonight, she thought about how she was going to catch attention tomorrow. Needless to say, Beviin knew that tomorrow, no matter the outcome, wouldn't be the day she would try to fulfil her goal at. After all, attacking someone of power in one of their major strongholds was anything but a good idea, and Beviin wasn't suicidal either. As such, she would have to actually pass the interviews one way or another. Seeing how the first round had failed to the point where a second round of interviews had been called out, she assumed that the prime candidates hadn't been lacking in skill in their occupation, but rather a personal factor. But what personal factor was it that Ayumi was looking for? Was it a certain aggressiveness? A willingness to fulfil her employers' bidding at any cost? Maybe. But then again, she doubted that there hadn't been enough people willing to kill for such a position. Maybe it was something else. Something more personal. Maybe Ayumi wanted someone capable of doing their job, and able to do even more for her? Beviin could deal with that. But no matter the thought, Beviin had no way to tell for sure until she was going to be in the interview herself.

The nightlife in the upcity was the most sensational. Ayumi enjoyed it as she walked the street with Cato next to her. The twi'lek wearing a dress form fitted as the black shimmer silks gleamed. Aurodium straps around her lekku and Ayumi laughed. Her hair straightened down to her ankles with streaks of glowing blues and red, the overcoat to her dress giving her a professional and military look more then just beauty. THey kept walking as the crowd was there and some security but the event was a sight to behold. The massive structure in the center as it was being opened to the public. The business leaders who were sponsoring and adding their brands to the people there.

Ayumi stopped only to look at the people who had gathered... several smaller groups with flashy smiles and their own equipment. Ayumi being shown a place to stand as droid drones were moving around and allowing the newest attraction to be opened for those who wanted to pay a premium for the chance. "Welcome people of the Upcity, it has been a testing time I know... there is a new government overtaking the city, new people seeking to control the other districts and we will welcome those who come here." There were some laughs and nods... they didn't isolate themselves... that drew attention... they just were generally ignored.

Ayumi was looking at the others who were gathered as she walked past Cato and a handful of others who were gathered. Business leaders sure but there was also several maids. The gangs of Upcity themselves were considered high class as they ran legit cafes and businesses while controlling the underworld... The maids being one of the larger and enforcers as another smaller group were there observing and seeing to the security for the participants. The food vendors were bringing different foods and Ayumi spoke as she held a hand up and looked around. "Welcome welcome." A smile was on her lips when she said it.

"The recent governmental changes are proceeding well enough but as always our District and the Upcity are far enough away to worry less about it. The dedication to improvement, high quality living and of course accumulation of credits for most of you sees this. The new adventurer facilities. A state of the art facility using our newest technologies to provide challenges, rewards and experience within. The stores and corporations of the district serve to sponsor and all tourism to come and test their skills for higher scores." She said it and the facilities held a lot more but behind her the looming design just looked like another building.

"We welcome all comers into it credits rarely discriminate and if this proves effective enough with the others that have been being built around the galaxy there could be future endeavors." Ayumi said it while there were cheers, applause and the promise of more credits flowing into the businesses and people well was always seen as one of the best when she went back to sit near Cato. The first ones entering the facility as screens were streaming it for those who wanted to watch as others dispersed. Cato was looking at her. "Well it wasn't the best, not being able to explain the technologies involved to make it a challenge doesn't help but these battle towers and dungeons will make some rich."

Ayumi gave a nod of her head as they stayed for a while and then proceeded to leave. The twi'lek smiling though as she looked over the crowds who were impressed with some of the fights being shown on the screens. The premium service able to be shown in the shops and businesses for a small fee after all. Ayumi walked as she breathed in the night air. "We still have plenty of time before we need to head back." She said it and walked around some of the crowd as the street curved into a stretch of beach with shimmering sands and large celeste class vessels in the water for private functions and owners.

"Oh night walks on the beach, you haven't done that for years master." The twi'lek said it more as a joke... a small smile on her face when she was walking and removing the heels went into the sand. "Master, you haven't called me that for years." She said it and the woman raised her eyebrows but did much the same as a small makie droid was getting the shoes they had. The personal droids moving off to observe and mostly be there should it be needed "No, you freed me but hard to not when you are taking me on a walk to the beach at night... are we going to the secluded cove where all the zeltrons like to tan?"

That got a laugh as she walked. "Maybe if you are good but no, peaceful times right now... I just want to admire the work built here."

As such, it didnt make much sense to waste time upon it right now. Walking right into the jaws of the lion was hardly a good idea, but as far as she was concerned now, it was the best she had. Or at least the only one that didn't involve her running for dear life in an instant. If she had to resort to this, however... well, in this case, it would be a good idea to know exactly where she had to run. Get a feeling for the place and how tight security was once someone penetrated the hard outer layer.

Making her way towards her temporary accommodation, which turned out to be a quite nicely decorated room in what seemed to be a hotel catered specifically to business travelers, seeing the extensive holonet terminals and stations that allowed her to work until late into the night. Not that she would be using any of that for her mission. In current times, it was already easy enough to find people by what they were looking for in the holonet, left alone once they started to show interest in specific places or facts. The chance to be detected by some droid or automated filter was too great to be used now. What she did use, however, was the restroom, which came in the form of a nicely decorated and separated toilet and a room to shower. To her surprise, even with water. While water-showers often were seen as inferior to the sonic ones, which were able to clean dirt much better and faster than the water ones, seeing how they were reliant on chemical agents and the user itself, they archived to create a feeling that was simply heavenly. Stepping under the shower, undressed almost as soon as she had finished checking her hotel room, Beviin opened the tap and, shocked by the sudden, almost ice-cold, streak of water coming from directly above her, almost ran into the glass wall, stopping only at the last second, cheeks pressed against the wall and a curse pressed out through clenched teeth, as she fidgeted with the tab and the buttons on it. But who could blame her? In her life, luxuries such as those had been far and sparse and each time they had been a favor of sorts with people around that showed off their wealth, giving Beviin a tour of what to do. Luckily for her, eventually the water seemed to settle onto a comfortable temperature and now fully engulfing herself in the stream, drops of water hitting her hair softly, Beviin's head went up, a deep breath escaping her lungs, before smelling the water. Naturally, water didn't smell. Dirty, polluted water did. Coming from a planet which had those plentily, leaving one more dirty than they had been before, the fact that she didn't smell anything bad was nothing short of amazing. The amazement only reached new heights when her eyes finally settled on the set of organic soap. Another rarity reserved for people with far deeper purses than hers, or those who had to rely on them for better or worse. Needless to say, Beviin wasn't going to go easy on the soap, and by the time she left the shower, the better part of an hour had passed, and her smell was akin to a whole fruit garden, so much so that she opted not to wear any perfume as she got dressed in a more comfortable set of clothes before heading out into the evening.

When outside her hotel, Beviin's path was that of someone with no specific destination they were trying to reach, her steps following where her eyes found something new, interesting to experience, only stopping when catching a quick drink or snack along the way. Eventually, she found herself in the entertainment district, and as her eyes were bombarded with a myriad of different light shows, she could see a resemblance to Nar Shaddaa, only differentiating by the lack of hired muscle patrolling the streets and the fact that everything seemed to be much cleaner. The prices, however, seemed to be roughly the same, and as she made her way through districts, she was content to be more of an observer than an attendee. At least until she passed an establishment which seemed to be rather new, if anything. While somewhat unsuspecting from the outside and even the inside, judging by the decorum alone, the terminals, which portrayed what this arcade seemed to offer, gave off a stark contrast. An action-adventure on multiple levels, which offered rewards based on skill, instead of luck. And as the heavens willed it, the first few attendees each evening were given a free try, which included Beevin, who was now starting to feel the alcohol coming into her bloodstream slowly, but certainly.

The only problem was that she needed a partner or team of sorts, and being all alone, she would have to wait for someone else to come and give her a helping hand, even if only to meet the requirement. Luckily for her, standing there, eyes fixated on the terminal, letting a finger run over it, trying to find a clue as to what the actual price was, she didn't have to wait long.

Ayumi continued along the beach with Cato following as they walked. The air being cooler and more relaxing as she checked the area around and the secluded cove came into view as the beach wrapped around. The oceans being more quiet. Ayumi stopping there as the gates to it were made to not show what was inside but it was beautiful and the zeltrons had spared no expense after all. She entered the small building and came out stretching as Cato shook her head. "Enjoy yourself boss... I'll go and make sure we are making the credits to pay for your nude beaches." She said it and rolled her eyes while she was looking over at it.

Meanwhile the Factility Station delivered a few things... several groups of people there going in as the floors would randomize for them. The Reception Biots seeing to individuals and teams that wanted to go in as the rules were being explained. "Welcome to the Denon Adventurers Facility. We are proud for our first timers at the grand opening. The rules are simple... progress however you can. Each room is designed to test you physically and mentally... each creature, enemy is there to fight and oppose you but there are safeties. We are priding ourselves on no deaths or major accidents being the draw and when you defeat an enemy the medical droids will make sure they are moved quickly."

She continued to speak while showing a crystal and then several of them. "These are Tasari Core, rare crystals that will drop when you find a chest, defeat an enemy or solve a puzzle. They serve different functions depending on what you want. They can be kept and exchanged with myself or the other reception biots for credits, prizes or an increase to your adventurer rank. Higher ranks means better quality equipment and rewards as well as increased challenge. They can be used within the facility to roll the Distribution Containers crates for different gear and equipment or even exchanged to add mutators to the floor which can change things like gravity or weather."

"There is also within the facility the rare Norita Class Biots. Ultra rare biots that can bond with you and serve as a bodyguard or whatever you need. Fully portable and fully sustainable on any budget." She said it while standing there as Cato walked up with a clap and spoke. "Good, the next group looks skilled and ready." She said it looking at all of the people there including Beevin with a nod for the others. "If you don't have a group just feel free to group together. The first night is going to always be rough.. we want to show the people how skilled you are and how much this can be a great experience. If you impress the sponsors they can add for you are well with equipment drops and gear."

She said it as her hands clapped again and the twi'lek had to give a nod of her head. "The facility also uses a time dilation effect within the rooms. So more time will pass in there then out here... allowing you to spend as much time as you can to do what you want without impeding your daily lives... so have fun, make some clips and credits. Admission for tonight is free and those who buy a rank get discounts." She said it while walking and there was an admin biot there as the reception biots were leading the people inside. Meanwhile on the beach Ayumi was enjoying herself as she lounged on a bench with the moonlight reflecting off the waters.

The sound of her comunit as her interface glowed. The earring casting a soft purrple light and the overlay coming up. "Hey boss, so I am here and thought.... wouldn't the proprietor who brought this facility to the district be the perfect person to run through it on the firrst day." Ayumi's eyebrow rose up and she looked at her... then at herself as she was lounging there. "I am not really.... no matter." She said it and rolled off of the chair. "I'll be there in a few." She said it when she was already walking back towards the lights. Her arms stretching out while she adjusted her hair to be out of the way.

Then she was there and standing as Cato looked at her. "Ah... well you were not kidding." She said it as Ayumi stood there for a moment. She had given most of her clothing to the makie droid and not recalled it. Instead opting for some comfy slip ons and string bikini. The coves attending zeltrons had been happy to help her while she walked back with her hair in a ponytail. She looked at Cato and raised an eyebrow wondering if the twi'lek was going to protest. "You did say I should come back... I was enjoying a nice moonlit lounge and you know how much I hate tanlines." She said it as she turned around and looked at the people who were there offerin a smile.

"Tactical armor am I right?" She said it for some laughs while she stood there and spoke to the group. "So you heard all of the important stuff... I'll keep it quick and go for the inspiring group message. This is one of the more exciting aspects... aside from the credits, the loot and equipment you can get. The ultra rare companion droids you might be able to find in there who will be like a magical girlfriend and help you out... there is also the sense of wonder as each level can be modidied in ways no one else could imagine. So to make it fun, I'll head inside with a few of you. Come on lets go and have some fun."

She said it with a wider grin on her face and there were some giggling girls rushing over as Ayumi stood there with them around her. THey had come to watch but would go in if she waas, the former senator was the one who brought a lot to the Upcity district after all. Ayumi walking towards the facility doors. The reception biots welcoming her as Cato was picking a few. "Ah well barring the fangirls... you, you, you and you." She randomly picked a few who were waiting there and welcomed them up. A chance like this as the small stream showed the group with the drones let the twi'lek move around.

Beviin, still standing inside, clenching the ticket she had gotten earlier, which granted her a free entry, was still focused on the droid explaining the rules, a thoughtful look written on her face. Normally, she wasn't one to play the morale aposlte, but this place almost seemed like a training camp of sort. Filtering out the ones that might be interested in performing dangerous tasks, building up their confidence and sieving out those that were skilled enough to progress, letting them fight against each other as well, if Beviin heard correctly. And then on one fateful day, the camps would change. The droids wouldn't hold back anymore. Playtime was over, and the course was as dangerous as a real battlefield. The one surviving would be the best of their batches. Their assignment in teams is probably preparing them to work as a unit. Random teammates so they would be able to integrate themselves into other squads. Changing environments to make them independent from larger forces, allowing them to face hostiles in rapidly changing environments. Shock troopers essentially. Survival was only necessary to the point where they would harm the enemy more than they cost. Those kinds of thoughts ran through her head. Beviin had seen the horrors of war and was sure that for some, she was a horror as well, having murdered and killed wherever a bounty or mission had bid her so. But even she sometimes still got shocked, last time as she saw a droid, one of the smaller, more nimble assassin ones at that, tear a man in armor apart. Needless to say, she wasn't keen on meeting robots. After all, even if what they said was true, one electrical error, one servo being calibrated in the wrong way, one circuit burning, one flimsy runtime error, and 10 kilonewton would be 100 instead.

Part of her even wanted others to take the first few rounds, if only to act as cannon fodder to be sure. But another, more righteous part in her hesitated. After all, while she had no problem killing civilians, she hardly saw a reason to do so without money being involved. Not that she had too much time to think about the situation to begin with. Obviously, she had noticed when a stranger and her entourage entered the forum, causing a ruckus of sorts that Beviin neither cared, nor was interested in. She assumed them to be a rockstar of sorts, or whatever, judging by the noise her fans generated at least. Maybe this ignorance had been the reason she had been picked out. After all, when the Twilek extended her arm and pointed at her a few meters away, the simple "you" cut through the noise like a blade, at least to Beviin. One of the benefits of being a miraluka was, after all, to be able to know when someone addressed them or spotted them.

Turning around and shooting the Twilek a look, before tiptoeing closer, a questioning look on her face, she spotted two things she didn't appreciate at all, given the situation. Both the Twi'lek carried a lightsaber, as well as her target standing right next to her. She had been the source of all the noise. Naturally, Beviin resorted to her role, letting out an uncertain: "Uhmmm... did you mean me, miss...?", letting the implication whether she had been meant or not, as well as both the Twi'leks as well as Ayumi's name open, her mind giving off nothing but a perfectly played aura of not knowing what the fuck was going on. And thanks to her genetic heritage, this cover was able to best even the most thorough inquisitors or wardens of the respective orders.

"Yes you if you want to join the former senator." The twi'lek said it with a look and then a shrug as it was the girls choice. While Ayumi looked up at Beevin for a moment as she smiled. "Hey you are welcomed here. I prefer some of the beauty for a team." She said it and looked at the girls who were wrapping around her arms with a small smirk. "And since you girls won't be able to go in with me how about I have Cato get you a transport to my island?" She said it with a grin that was wide and there were a few squees for the moment as she slipped out of their grasps. "Cato arraign it, I think when we get out of there I'll have a few muscles that could use loosening and... one two three.... four."

She said it while leading them over to the twi'lek as the girls were laughing. "Should be able to handle it." She said it with a wink though and started to walk as the ones chosen were there moving behind her. She turned to look towards Beevin. "Come on, I'll protect you." She said it with a small clap of her hands going into the facility as she looked around. The burst of cool air nice and invigorating for the moment as she stepped forward into one of the rooms being presented. The sounds of the reception biots as they remained there and equipment was being presented for them to be able to use was nice. Ayumi grabbing a blaster and blade.

"Not too bad." She said holding the weapon and had a look at the others who came with her. She had seen the facilities before and knew a few things. One hand coming up as she held a smooth opal shaped crystal. "These are the goals, tasari cores taken from defeated creatures within the facility levels. She looked at the other three who were there as they were getting equipment for it and one looked like a soldier, another just seemed excited to try it and the third was nervous but determined. Ayumi's eyes going over them as she spoke. "Don't worry, there are a lot of safety measures in place and some surprises... just have fun."

"Ha, a senator fighting her own battles or close to anything other than straight up luxury is quite the sight, so I think ill take it.", Beviin cooed out when given the go-ahead from the senator, equally as unsure as she wasn't caring whether or not her comment would earn her a hard glare or equally witted comment. At the very least it would give her an idea whether or not her target could be baited into rash decisions or not, even if part of her felt the need to add up: "Although I gotta admit that you look much better in person than on the holos. And those are quite the sight as well.", at least replying to the hidden praise or flirt with one of her own. After all, she was here in Denon to murder the former senator, not insult her.

The notion changed, however, when Ayumi declared that she would protect Beviin. Naturally, having been in the business for more than 8 years by now and successful at that, Beviin hardly needed someone to look out for her. Even less so a Senator, whose standard move was likely throwing credits at problems until they ceised to exist or chose to be a problem for someone else. On the other side, however, imitating a harmless traveler, Beviin had little to say against it. After all, she couldn't mimic being harmless while telling others she didn't need help. Likewise, she couldn't show what she was capable of right away. "Wait... i thought the droids and traps don't kill or harm...", she instead gave out, masking her changed facial expression as uncertainty, still following Ayum,i however.

When they reached the equipment room, Beviin noticed that Weapons and equipment in general seemed to be bought with some form of coins, likely one of the rewards that the receptionist had been telling about earlier. And as the devil willed it, Beviin had around 100 of those, which she invested in a hard-hitting slug handgun and a short-range blaster shotgun. Needless to say, melee was, as much as she hated to engage in it, one of her specialities by speed and agility alone, and she couldn't reveal it now. Not in such an environment. Same with one-handed blasters. A shotgun would provide enough potential to deal damage, as well as make it seem natural to hit, given the nature of its design.

As she got the weapons handed however, the next problem arose in how to store them. The shotgun wasn't a problem. The pistol, much more so, however. After all, while she most certainly could have held the pistol while using the pump gun, it seemed almost too specialised again, and instead, she opted to place the handgun at her back, held by the waistband of her pants, before turning around, facing Ayumi, and watching her as she explained the rules to their fellow contestants.

She adjusts a blaster in her hand, its grip familiar despite it being a generic blaster. Her fingers move with practiced ease. The facility's promise of randomized floors and tasari core rewards excites her not for the credits, but for the chance to inspire, to show Upcity's strength. Her gaze sweeps the room as Ayumi raised an eyebrow for a moment as she posed for Beevin with a wink. "Well maybe you'll get to see me out of it." She said it and had her weapons... although her real skill was with the force she was looking at it and walked. "Oh it is but you have to have some tension... can't all be from watching pretty girls in tight armor." She winked for a moment while walking and the doors opened with a hiss. The reception biot speaking as she looked over the information. "All systems are operating perfectly Director. We hope you enjoy your stay."

Ayumi tilts her head, letting a playful smile curve her lips, her voice slipping into the warm, teasing cadence that's become her shield. "Still standing there, mystery girl?" she calls, stepping closer, the blaster twirling in her hand before she holsters it with a flourish. "Don't tell me you're shy now." Her tone is light, inviting, but her eyes linger for the briefest moment. SHe wasn't like the others... even the nervous girl seemed to want to step closer to Ayumi. There was a stance there, a quiet strength that piques Ayumi's curiosity, though she keeps her probing subtle, veiled in flirtation. "I meant what I said. Just stick with me and I'll protect you like a bodyguard, beautiful." The word slips out naturally, a spark to test the stranger's reaction, to see if she'll match Ayumi's energy or shrink from it.

She closes the distance, her hand guiding the nervous girl through the doors with the others as she breathed in the scent of the world. The woman's hands grip a vibroblade and Ayumi notes the controlled movement despite her nervous demeanor. Her smile widens, sensing potential. "You've got a steady grip. That's a start," she says, leaning in slightly, her voice dropping to a conspiratorial whisper. "Stay with me in here, and I'll make sure you come out with more than just a tasari core. Maybe a story to tell." She punctuates the words with a wink, her flirtation a calculated mix of charm and challenge, meant to draw the woman out while keeping her own secrets buried. The Force hums faintly within her, urging caution, but her idealism her belief in the spark of good in others overrides it. She wants to trust this stranger, to see her rise to the occasion.

Ayumi steps back, gesturing to the team assembling behind her a grizzled soldier checking a blaster, a wide-eyed novice bouncing with excitement, another woman whom she could also see likely checking the tattoo on her lower back. "Hey beautiful." she says, her voice brimming with confidence as she looked. The chamber was large, city like with the setting sun. The streets themselves paved in crete and stones while Ayumi was moving... the doors closing once all of them went through. Her arm went around the nervous girl offering only reassurances and then the first sounds came as smaller things were running through the streets. Larger beasts more then predators but their massive horns were dangerous looking and Ayumi pointed. "This is where the fun begins."

Her voice is steady, rallying the team as she steps forward, blaster in hand. She fires with minor skill, her shots precise enough but deliberately unpolished, masking her Jedi reflexes. Her movements flow like a dance, fluid and confident, as she weaves through the charging beasts, dodging a horned creature with a graceful spin. "Keep up, guys!" she calls, her tone playful but commanding, her eyes flicking to the nervous girl. "You've got this, sweetheart just aim for the legs!" Her reassurance is warm, meant to bolster the girl's courage. She reached out witht he force and weaved around the creatures offering more of a display to show she might have been a former senator but she wasn't the one who just sat in the office.

Turning to the stranger with the vibroblade, Ayumi flashes another grin, her hair swaying as she sidesteps a beast's charge. "Not bad huh, mystery girl," she says, her voice carrying over the chaos, a teasing lilt in her tone. "Bet you look even better with that blade in action." She fires another shot, grazing a creature's flank, then spins closer to the stranger. "Stick close, beautiful." she murmurs, her eyes locking onto the stranger's for a moment, a playful challenge in her gaze. "Let's make this a story worth telling." She spins away, her blaster firing in rhythm with her dance like steps, leading the team deeper into the chamber. Ayumi's heart races as she feels the nervous girl's tension ease under her arm, the novice's excitement fueling their charge, the soldier's steady aim anchoring the group.

As another beast charges, Ayumi ducks low, her skin gleaming under the artificial sunset, and fires a shot that clips its horn, sending it veering off. "See? Fun!" she calls, her laugh ringing out, though her senses stay alert, the Force a quiet guide. She glances back at the team, her smile teasing but warm. "Your turn, mystery girl show me what you've got." Her words are an invitation, a spark to keep the team moving while she moved and dodged another charge her bikini snagging on a beasts horn as it went past... she stood there as the ones that fell were teleported away. The far-casting technologies developed to take them to medical care and in their place were left several cores. Small but gleaming like dark pearls.

Naturally, Beviins opinion regarding the place still stood. After all, the message hardly mattered when the effect or threat was an entirely different one. And even while she wasn't one for the masses, one that particularly cared about the person next to her or society in general, she thought that it was fucked up to play with people's addictions, trick them into training for something that could and would be used against them if need be. After all, why not only train paramilitary skills to civilians, but also appeal to their gambling addiction. Nothing better to get people to sink more money into a game than, that gave them the easy solution to simply be better, in order to get better things. As if addicts weren't already full of their supposed luck and skills to begin with. And even while Beviin hadn't actually bothered to check the exchange rates, she doubted that they were favorable. Enough to recoup the entry ticket at best, but likely not even then enough.

Not that she had a lot of time to think about the fact either way, seeing how Aumi was on and about to catcall her again. An offer she found hard to accept, given the fact that she had just seen the stranger invite not only one but 4 different woman at her home. "Uh, I think I am good on my own. Wouldn't wanna disgruntle the mob you got waiting at home, right?", she chuckled back, eyes slightly narrowed, grabbing her pumpgun tighter, holding it in front of her, almost like a shield of sorts. Needless to say, it didn't seem to stop the other woman from being touched and not too long after, she felt a hand on her back, half guiding, half pushing her through the blast doors, deeper into the facility as the team followed. Interestingly, the Senator seemed to have quite the strength, for someone who should only have been lifting the burden of being blessed with riches.

Didn't stop her from continuing to flirt either. "Oh I can imagine. It might be a story for the news. "The senator and her five fangirls after business hours"? No, thank you, Ma'am.", she eventually replied, stopping only as they seemed to enter into a replica of a city of sorts and found themselves confronted with sleek, muscular, horned beasts.

Naturally, chaos erupted. With the Senator going AWOL and actually engaging the beasts head-on, her teammates opening fire and one particularly feisty one trying to approach in melee, Beviin looked around, finding a low roof she could climb. Naturally, ignoring what the Senator seemed to shout in between the carnage, Beviin ran for the roof, throwing her rifle up and jumping after it, hands reaching the ledge, before pulling herself up as well, resorting to shoot at the beasts as they passed her.

This, however, didn't seem to stop the senator form flirting even more and while Beviin certainly understood now why someone had ordered a hit on her, and the tension was increasing to the point where she wanted to just shoot the senator, she couldn't help but give out a resigned: "You know I have a nameeeeee", drawing out the "e" over a few seconds, if only to give her frustration a place to go. Though, she wouldn't remain quiet for long as she gave out: "Whats it with you and your harem. Or me? Like... those other girls will be enough to sate your appetite, will they? Assuming you just plainly fuck with em."

Ayumi's grin bloomed like a secret flower, a private amusement dancing in the curve of her lips as the mysterious stranger's retort lingers in the air, sharp and defiant. Her dark honey eyes sweep the chamber's cityscape, taking in the flickering sunset with a practiced grace. With a flourish, she plucks a tasari crystal from the gleaming pile left by fallen beasts, its opal surface catching the light, and distribute one to each member the soldier, the once excited novice now steeled with determination, the nervous girl, and the enigmatic fourth. The gesture flows like a silent vow, a key to unlock their potential, her fingers brushing theirs with a whisper of warmth. "The crystals have a few other things, if you want to keep them then keep them on you. It might take a few weeks to months but bonding with them allows the force energies within to connect to you."

Ayumi's gaze looks back and up at the mystery girl, a challenge sparkling in my raised eyebrows, and she spoke, her voice a low, velvet murmur that carries on the still air. "I assure you, I'm quite renowned for my stamina care." Ayumi turned away with a teasing tilt of her head, her hair streaking blue and red as it sways, the nervous girl trailing close like a shadow seeking shelter. The guttural roars of approaching creatures echo down the stone paved street, a primal symphony drawing nearer. Ayumi raised a single hand, the motion commanding yet elegant, and the soldier snaps into a defensive stance, blaster at the ready, while the novice freezes, his finger pointing with a mix of awe and alarm.

"Is something wrong?" Ayumi asked, her voice smooth as she followed his gaze and finger. A shrug ripples through her shoulders, nonchalant yet playful, as she glance down her bikini top had snagged on a beast's horn during the last fray, unnoticed until now. "Oh well," Ayumi says, a mischievous glint igniting her eyes, "I suppose I'll need someone to shield me." With a faux movement, she steps behind the nervous girl, her hands hovering as if to hide, but slowly pouring reassurance through the force, a gentle current that steadies her trembling form, coaxing a chuckle from the team.

Ayumi's attention shifts to the nervous girl, her vibroblade clutched like a lifeline, and she softens her voice, letting it wrap around the girl like a warm embrace. "It will be fine," She murmurs, her tone laced with gentle certainty. "The safety systems use teleportation tech to whisk you away before a dangerous strike that could kill you. Dampeners limit the blasters and blades think sports arena knock around power, not lethal force." Ayumi trails off, watching relief wash over the novice's face, and a tender smile graces her lips as she meets the eyes of the soldier and the novice, a silent bond forging amid the looming threat when she slips the barest amount of battle meditation. The creature's roars grow louder, a momentary grace before the storm, and she turns her head, dark honey gaze locking onto the fourth member the mystery girl. A look of challenge flares in the former senators eyes, an unspoken invitation to rise, to prove herself against the chaos about to unfold.

Catching one of the "cores" as the former senator had called them earlier, Beviin could feel the energy residing within it. And one thing was sure, while the construct wasn't a natural crystal in the common sense, either artificially grown or made of other elements entirely, it carried at least fragments of force-resonating materials. Quite an expensive gift to be given for defeating hard-light holograms. Not that she had any plan to keep such crystals for any amount of time other than the one she stayed in this facility. Knowing kyber crystals or their concept, the crystals would be a useless token at best, or raise questions and suspicions at worst. That was, among the facts that most lightsaber-wielding lunatics were capable of feeling the presence of such crystals.

Not that the crystal remained too long in her focus, seeing how the senator had another thing to say regarding her idea for a headline. "HA! I can imagine. You don't look like you aren't enjoying the benefits of having fans either way.", she answered, making her way down the roof in a rather uncanny fashion, throwing down her shotgun, before tip-toeing around the edge, eventually sitting down and letting herself drop down the one and a half meters or so, just in time for the second round to announce itself with a thundering roar, leaving Beviin on the ground, her shoulders dropping as she murmured out: "Oh are you fucking kidding me...", taking the rifle and throwing it back up, before jumping up, her fingers taking hold of the edge once more and trying to pull herself up, only playing to struggle this time, giving someone the ideal moment to offer, or rather give their help without asking.

Regardless of who helped her, Beviin once more took her shooting position and began to rain fire, as slowly as she reasonably could. Her miraluka skills telling her that someone was watching her. The very same someone who appeared to stand there, wearing a half-broken top, all of a sudden, giving more than just a peek, considering that the former senator hadn't been dressing in overly much fabric to begin with. However, this look hardly seemed to be just another quiet flirt. This one seemed dangerous, almost threatening. An intent that Beviin misunderstood entirely as she called out: "Whats wrong? Not happy with 4 girls and in need of another?!", her head turning between the beasts as she took a shot and Ayumi as she waited for an answer.

Ayumi worked to help her get up as her hands brushed her legs before she moved down to lift at her boots and allow herself to get back up quickly. The charging creatures were there as she moved as blasters went off. The charge of hooves, tucks and crashing forms. The smell something she was used to more as she didn't deadeye her shots but she made it look like she knew how to defend herself when she stood there intentionally lowering her skills. Her own dance of defensive skills to dodge out fo the way, her battle meditation enhancing and inspiring the three on the ground level with her and her own grace as a dancer.

The nervous girl more confident from the battle meditation was better able to make her slashes when the charging creatures got close. Her lithe form moving out of the way when she cut and the creatures shimmered in blue energy. THeir bodies replaced with the cores as the emergency teleportation took them to a medical area and back to be able to eat and enjoy. Ayumi looked at her and offered a smile and nod. "So cutie you have a name or should I just call you." She said it while looking at her and raised an eyebrow. "Well I think that apple booty is a good nickname but a mouthful in a scenario like this."

She could hear the woman and spoke not looking over her shoulder. "There's always room for one more when it comes to beautiful women." She said it and the girl looked at her offering a smile. "L... Lira. I am Lira." Ayumi gave her a nod of her head before she was walking and the soldier looked at her. "Rohn." The excited boy a teenager smiled showing that innocent youth and dimples. "I am Froggie." Ayumi looked at him and he seemed to be blushing. "Well it is good to have both of you. Even her." She said it indicating the woman on the rooftop and didn't need to do much just wrapped an arm around Lira's should as she was walking.

The cityscape opening up while Rohn, Froggie and lira seemed excited picking up the crystals and putting them in their packs. Ayumi declining them as she let Lira keep her while putting a portion for Beviin there so she could collect her share. The city itself opening to show more streets and a hill as it went down. The end of the city glowing as a large crystal citadel while below dust came from several streets. "Now this is a challenge." She clapped her hands as she looked at them. "So how are you guys enjoying it?" Her eyebrows came up. "The facilities are good for a whole lot more in this case aand just imagine... the hundred or so chambers are all randomized."

Lira seemed surprised at that. "But the facility isn't that big... these rooms are so large." She said it and Ayumi nodded. "It is true, the company uses dimensional engineering. The interiors of each room can be the size of a city." Her voice came out while she kept her hand on Lira's shoulder while pointing outwards with her eyes directing the others. "The whole city is ours to play in like a massive sandbox Lira. Imagine later upgrades for it we could hire people to be in the rooms, ones who operate or give challenges, chances to relax. Over there we could make a hotsprings resort with the water heated sure and not as natural but think of all the beautiful women you could get in there."

There was a chuckle from Rohn. "Well that would be something to see Director." He said it and walked over looking in the direction while checking the weapon he had. "Though I suspect I am a little too old for attention if you are there." He said it and she offered a grin. "Maybe but I am sure thewill be plenty for you Old SOldier. You are already showing enough... I'll put in a good word for you." She said it with a wink while she looked at Froggie and spoke. "You want me to put in a good word for you as well Groggie? I am sure we could find a pair of girls who would want a young man like you and if you make this into a regular thing you could make some credits to spend."

THe boy was blushing hard and seemed more nervous then Lira had. "Ah.. that would be... that would be alright I guess." She looked at him and spoke adjusting herself so she could look at him but if she wanted to let Lire stand near her. "Froggie, I am going to tell you the secret to women... well a good portion of them. Be confident, even if you strike out there is going to be one... three... maybe five that will look at you and think why not." She said it with enough volume to her voice so Beviin could hear but the woman didn't seem as receptive to her invitations... Lira did and Ayumi turned back to her. "Like so."

She said it while looking at the girl and then pointed towards the cityscape. "Come on, there be more crystals out there and you can doa whole lot with them... might even find some of the rare chests they were talking about which have weapons, armor and potential for other items." She was looking at it when she winked. "And who knows, we make it out of here... You can come back to my place. It is big, covered in fruit trees and starblossoms that absorb the sun in the day and look like the moonlight. With the second sweetest nector in the universe." That got the girl blushing hard as Ayumi turned on her heel and started walking with Rohn following.

"I think you broke her."

Beviin, being helped up onto the roof by the former senator, didn't waste any time and reached for her rifle, turning around and opening fire as the creatures got closer, half her attention fixated onto the strangers and her target and the other half on the mechanical enemies picking them off one by one, never with precise shots, always showing some inferfection. A stray shot there, a failed reload there, holding the gun wrong, taking too long to recover from recoil. The difference between someone trained and someone trying their best to keep up was plentiful, and Beviin was sure that she played her role well enough to fool the other people around her, even if their attention was resting on the beasts for the largest part.

Meanwhile, Beevin listened in to the technical secret behind the environment they found themselves in, noting a few apparent flaws right from the get-go. At base, the rooms were training facilities. A template that could be changed to fit the challenge or what needed to be trained, regardless of the size of the room, as long as it was sufficient. Unless simulations would include artillery and long ranged weapons, the size simply wasn't needed. Likewise, the size restriction for things leaving the place was conceptually locked to the doors, so all this did was save space in the middle of the city. Probably at a ludicrous energy cost at that.

Beyond technicalities, however, the Senator was on and about to secure the next date for after their turn would finish and Beevin couldn't help but give an almost annoyed sigh. In the middle of battle and the senator was only thinking about getting her pearl licked, treating the scenario more like a datingshow then with genuine interest. After all, why bother coming to the first time opening of one of the city's apparently "greatest" inventions in regards to relaxation and arcades, to disregard what it offered in such a way? And even while her teammates didn't seem to mind much, Beevin had other things on her mind than getting off at the next possible time and place.

After all, if things continued at the pace they were now, she was almost sure to see the senator having her fan lick her right then and there in the middle of the street. Needless to say, Beviin took an effort to remain on the rooftop for now, trailing along her teammates as they made their way towards the next challenge. Easier that way. Safer that way. More comfortable as well. Suddenly, the loot drops didn't seem so important anymore.

She could practically feel the woman actively avoiding her and the rest of the team. Rohn and her continuing forward as the woman laughed a little. The enjoyment there as one of the streets opened into a marketplace. Stalls with items but no people... the smells of food in the air but the food areas were not being used yet. "This will be something else, as it expands, as Denon expands and we try and improve things.. the chances for other companies to add their unique flare into it is important. From shops for equipment to food, we want to make this an adventure for the senses as well as for the credits... more so." She had a grin. "The first things put in were the distribution chests."

She said it while going over and showing Froggie and Lira the chests as they were silver framed with glowing blue panels. "NOw these are some of the more fun aspects, you feed in the crystals you earned from defeating enemies. The fabricator within will then randomize what you get. Could be a weapons, armor, could even be some equipment. If you want it take it, if you want to try again feed in more crystals and it will break down the items and make you something else. The higher your rank the better access to items, the improved chances even and most importantly. When you come often enough you can win special tickets for a specific type allowing more focus."

SHe looked at them as she motioned Lira forward and showed her what to do. The girl feeding the crystals into the basin in the top as they clinked with the counter going up until it was green. The basin closing and she pushed the button. Ayumi stood back watching it as the blue glow spun arround and brightened up with the top opening with a burst of light and might. Music playing fanfare for a moment. Lira picked up the Micro Wind Drone as she looked at it and Ayumi grinned. "Oh... fun, turn it on and it follows you... mostly for show. It will blow your coats and hair dramatically but when in a situation like this where you are streaming... complete holophoto material."

Froggie looked at the drone and went forward doing the same. The box opening as he looked at the wrist cuff. Ayumi looked at it as she held it for him and affixed it on his wrist. "It is meant as an Off Hand Blade." She said it and showed him where to touched the wrist cuff as the hilt extended for him to grab and pull out. "Similar technologies to the rooms, you have a blade and it is made to defend. THe nnth metal in it stands up well to a lightsaber with little to none fo the weight of some other blades." She said it and motioned for Rohn to do the same when she was looking at it. Her interest in a few things around the market and checking on it.

Rohn looked at what he got and held it up. "What do you suppose this one is?" He asked it and Ayumi turned looking at the Axion Rifle as she smirked. "Only something you will like... It fires mini hypergates. Connecting two points in space so if you wanted to. Have one on the roof and one here on the street and you could pass between the gate to make your travel much faster." Or for tactical advantages in some cases she had seen before. "And those are yours to keep when you exit the game." She spoke while walking and Lira seemed happy as she was walking and the drone followed her making it so her hair was flying around her.
