Jobs were starting to become more and more difficult; not entirely because the contents of the job were too much to be handled, but moreso due to the amount of time that said jobs tended to keep Ofira away from home. Especially late in the evenings and even later into the nights. Justice was not on a schedule however, and it was not something to be sought or claimed whenever one person or another desired it. No, at times justice took planning, staking out, carefully tracking and monitoring movements and the patterns of people who mulled about. Sometimes justice needed a hand in order to be delivered, and Ofira Ee'everwest was that hand.

It was ironic in the best of ways. On the surface, Ofira was a quiet, well mannered, easy to please sort. She found delight in the simplest of things, the smallest of gestures, and enjoyed the company of a vast array of people. Her temper was close to non-existent, and if something were to rile her up to the point of a tantrum? Such a thing would come in the form of tears rather than rage and lashing out. She was such a mild little thing that most people - even those who knew her oh so well - never really gave her a second glance. Unfortunately, that is why no one really knew a thing about her below the surface.

To put it simply, Ofira was a killer. A fierce one, who did not hesitate when it came to laying down the law once it was put into her hands. When justice reached a point where it was needed for her to step in? That meant there was only one solution, one way for wrongs to be righted again. Ofira was a vigilante of sorts, if one needed to put a name to it. And yet how did such a mild, unsuspecting girl become such a seasoned threat to those who needed to be brought to justice? Well, that was an uninteresting story, and one she hadn't needed to tell anyone as of yet. A fact which she was both glad for and frustrated about.

Was she really so easily overlooked that no one ever noticed when she would be gone throughout the night? That her sleeping hours bled into the late mornings and sometimes even the earliest bits of the afternoon? She was good at hiding the things that bacta could not heal, and bruises were covered by the best makeups too. But that did not change the strain such a secret bore onto her. Carrying such a secret around was tiresome, and a burden at times, but if she were to speak of such things to her family they would certainly not understand, and most definitely attempt to stop her in some way, shape, or form. And by now, she was too deeply into this whole ordeal to step away from it now.

Even now Ofira was careful as she made her way through the home and towards the kitchen. Being as late as it was, she refused to rouse anyone to ask about what had been had for dinner, and instead chose to find something herself. That, and a nice, hot cup of tea sounded like the immediate solution to sore ribs she was dealing with at the moment. Perhaps some sort of pain aide as well, but for the moment? A meal and a hot drink would at least distract her from the ache. As such, her feet were nearly silent as they carried her into the room, and she made no move to adjust any lighting either. Her focus was on the cooling unit to see what she could get into, and tea would absolutely follow.

Both of which kept her distracted enough to not realize that she was not the only one awake at this hour. A fact which anywhere else would have landed her dead in a heartbeat for sure.

She wasn’t supposed to be awake, but her stomach had been twisting and turning so much that it finally forced Teyla to pull herself from bed and stumble her way as swiftly as she could to the fresher. Kneeling to the floor, she proceeded to spill what little bit of contents were left in her stomach from dinner several hours before, into the vacc tube. When she was finished, the tube was flushed, and the sound of the faucet came on as she thoroughly cleansed her mouth.

Moments later saw Teyla reemerge to stand in the doorway, her gaze peering over at her two toddlers, immediately filled with some relief her late-night emergency hadn’t stirred them from their slumber. She wasn’t sure if she’d have enough energy or patience to deal with two grumpy Force sensitive children in the middle of the night, when she herself lacked sufficient sleep due to whatever illness had been plaguing her these last few days.

Tired eyes that were quickly becoming more alert by the second, blinked towards the balcony, taking notice that the twilight of evening was still at its zenith. It would be hours before the sun came out.

With a frustrated sigh, realizing that she was not going back to sleep any time soon, Teyla shuffled across the expansive bedroom to pluck her silken robe from the bedpost and wrap it around herself for a semblance of modesty before leaving her chambers altogether.

Perhaps a cup of tea would help ease her back to sleep?

Wandering through the winding corridors at night with nothing but silence to greet her, made it nearly impossible to keep intruding thoughts from entering her mind. Normally, they would have been drowned out by the noise of the day, with Teyla spending most of it away from home due to recent circumstances within the Confederacy demanding her attention.

It seemed that everything demanded her attention lately.

And when she finally was home? Whatever daylight hours existed were tied up in meetings with the press, pinned up and tucked in for several hours at a time, to unburdened her elder sister so she could tend to their late Father’s political responsibilities within the Royal Houses.

The children and distant holocalls to Baros took up the rest of whatever minutes were left by the time the moon was out, leaving her younger siblings to regretfully fall into the shadows. It was painful to know she couldn’t be there for them in the capacity she desired to be, especially knowing that Ofira, Osenia, and Mina, likely harbored some resentment because of it. Perhaps a moment would present itself where she might find the time to speak with them, find out their feelings and how they were coping.

Perhaps you just need to endeavor to make time.

Lost in thought for the last several minutes, was perhaps to blame for not noticing the familiar presence sooner than immediately upon arrival to the kitchen. The mental haze beginning to clear, the delicate, but wind-swept face of her younger sister, who she noted to be fully dressed, swam into focus before her.

It seemed that the moment she was looking for, was now.

Delicate brows knit together, intelligent eyes full of suspicion and visible confusion, soaking in every small nuance of circumstance and appearance.

“Ofira?”

It hadn't taken much to find something edible within the cooling unit, and Ofira set the makings to put a sandwich together down upon the nearest counter. She was careful of course, quiet, as she had no desire to wake anyone up and then have to explain why she was not only up at this hour, but dressed as well. But her stomach had outranked her brain in matters of going to change into bedclothes first, so here she was. Delicate hands were careful as they found a suitable knife for sandwich making, and she had nearly set the utensil down when she heard her name from the entranceway.

The metal dropped against the counter with a clang, and Ofira's breath hitched in surprise as she was startled by the sound of her sister's voice. Somewhere in her mind she was aware this could make her look guilty or suspicious of any number of things, but in reality it was late, and the startlement could be chalked up to the fact that the younger of the sisters hadn't expected anyone else to be conscious at this hour.

"Teyla," she breathed out, her recently freed hand pressed against her chest as if to help calm her wildly beating heart now. "Don't do that..." she groused, though it was light in her tone. She took then a moment to breathe, to collect herself, and then her feet were moving again, this time to get water started for tea. "What are you doing up?" the younger then questioned, mostly so that she could get the question out before big sister could.

Even though honestly, she knew said question would round right back around to her despite the fact.

Years of sitting at the feet of her father, and later the Queen of Naboo herself, had developed in Teyla a keen eye for noticing even the smallest of details. She could instantly see how hard her sister was trying to brush off the fact that she was awake and dressed, several hours before the sun was up. Maybe she had actually been startled by her sudden appearance and abrupt words, in what was otherwise total silence, but Teyla was not buying that this was happenstance. She was disconnected from her younger siblings, yes, but that didn't mean she didn't know when something was up.

"Sorry," she apologized in a soft tone, rather than a harsh or accusatory one, offering a slight smile.

She didn't want to push Ofira, that much she knew at once. Though her abilities in the Force had blossomed as of late, there were some situations she didn't need the Force to know what kind of steps she needed to take. One look at Ofira's face told her that she was gearing up for a rebuttal to any questions she might have, that she was not willing to share whatever it was that she had been up to. If she pressed her, demanded that she tell her what was going on, Teyla doubted she would tell her. At least not the entire truth. For now, she decided the best course of action was to leave things unsaid.

Glancing at the sandwich on the counter, she felt her stomach roll and placed a hand to her mouth, closing her eyes until the feeling to hurl passed again.

"Careina and Marcus have been restless and I just couldn't sleep after I finally got them down, have been feeling a little bit under the weather, so I decided I'd try and make some tea..." Teyla answered in a lighthearted tone, stepping forward to get the water for the kettle ready. Closer to her sister now, she could not help but notice the slightest whiff of the ozone tang that came after blaster fire, though revealed nothing in her expression. "Would you like some, too? Since you're already up and all."

If there was one thing Ofira was good at, it was deduction. The younger sister was quite aware of certain mannerisms, the way a woman moved when she was under the weather - especially her own sisters - and when it was something more than that. The way Teyla carried herself, the slight, easy to miss hesitations and hitches. All things that pointed to a certain bodily state that no one else had clearly picked up on, and almost made Ofira smirk.

Almost.

"Maybe you should start slipping sedatives into their night time meals." it was strictly a tease, and nothing more. Never in a million years would Fi honestly suggest such a thing. "Tea would be lovely, thank you."

While her sister worked to get water heating, Ofira abandoned the construction of her sandwich so that she could get down a pair of mugs as well as the tea to seep once the water was done. Only once this was set up and waiting did the curly haired sister go back to her sandwich, piecing it together until she was satisfied and then returning everything else back to the cooling unit. The sandwich was then cut in twain, and the younger sister offered half to the older.

"So, do you want to tell me what's really got you up at this hour, or shall we continue to play coy?" her brows loft, and she took a bite of her half of the sandwich.
