Second Time Around

Location: Outer Rim Territories
Objective: Survive
The hours seemed to stretch on for an eternity, allowing time to slowly but surely drain away at the power supply of the old Lamba-class Imperial shuttle. Tugoro could see his breath in the cold air as he exhaled, his sight plastered to the ships glass viewport. The Republic had sent him deep into the Outer Rim, on a mission to investigate nearby planets in hopes of bringing them under their wing. The Republic was going through a tough time, evident by the fact that the Jedi Knight currently travelled in an ancient shuttle. Why had such an outdated craft been chosen to carry the scouting parties through the vacuum of space?

As luck would have it, Tugoro's group was rather close to Imperial territory, or what was said to be Imperial territory. Such rumours usually only bore small remnant groups, nothing actually threatening. The real threat was the One Sith, for they continued to grow all the time. Any Imperial remnants would hardly be a problem, unless they were assimilated into the One Sith. Fortunately for the scouting party, no Sith had shown up yet, and neither had any ominous Imperial Stardestroyers. In fact, nothing had shown up, not even on the scanners. There were absolutely no life signs detected from the scanner readings from the planet below, forcing the group to venture further towards other possible prospects. Or their impending doom.

"This is insane," the young Jedi spoke, his teeth chattering uncontrollably due to the cold temperature. The outdated pair of ships had malfunctioned, leaving both of the parties low on energy and hope. "Tell me about it," the pilot replied, before continuing, "You'd think the Republic would have stolen better shuttles than this," he spoke, a dreary laugh following before he fell silent. "Not that," Tugoro snapped, still gazing out the viewport, towards the planet below. It was devoid of life, almost like the small cabin they were all crammed into. A transmission would be received, their communications being one of the only systems active currently. It was a message from the other shuttle, and so it was received gladly.

"We can't keep searching like this, we need land soon or we'll all freeze alive!" the man on the other end shouted angrily, obviously unable to handle the situation as calmly as some. With that, the shuttle diverted from it's original course, heading towards one of the planets in the distance. A sigh would escape the Jedi's lips, his breath still visible against the cold air as he leaned forward. "It's our only chance," he spoke, turning his head slightly to look at the pilot. "We don't want to be separated either. Follow them." Tugoro advised, knowing the men did not like his input. The Jedi were hardly even official members of the Republic any more, having been replaced with a Force User Enclave. Tugoro could feel a mutiny coming on at this point. Leaning back into his chair, the young man would fall silent once again, his vacant stare still upon the viewport.
