Private Search of the Gemini

event.jpg

The Gemini's trip was simple, test out a new hyperdrive, return and record the results. The ship went into hyperspace losing contact, no further contact was made. Could it have been failure, or did the men get stranded. No one knew no beacons were picked up, and the ship was more of a ghost legend. People said they would see it, just for the attention, but what really shocked people was the ship orbiting the planet, iced over.

The loud boom was shocking of the Gemini returning after 20 years of hiding. That had been about three days ago, now Talon was on a mission to go explore it, he was told that other people would join the search as time went on. It was the day of the trip and he had heard nothing. The Mando didn't know if he was alone but most contact was severed, only giving him updates on times, no more info.

The mission was simple, get in, go to the bridge, gather all logs and leave. From the close ups he was sent he saw the ice that had formed over the ship's hull and bridge. The glass was impossible to see through as it was coated in many layers. The transport ship was about to leave to board, but Talon didn't know what he would find, or if he was alone. The ship hadn't regained contact with the planet, sitting there motionless in the sky.

Talon had a pistol ready but would be cautious because it may crack the glass or walls with enough heat, and with the ship's already fragile state, it would be the end of the mission.

A lone Cabur-Class Patrol Ship drifts peacefully through the hyperspace lanes, Passing distant worlds and stars at rapid pace. Despite the speed at which this ship and the stars were traveling, One couldn't help but feel an odd peace. As if they themselves were drifting through space. Everything moved so quickly, And yet sitting in this cockpit, Joti could relax. This was the slow part of the day. Drifting through space like a dream. She would mimic this serenity, Staring at her reflection against the flashing blue void. Despite the calming scene behind this reflection, The woman in front of her painted a wild, chaotic picture; Scarlet red hair, Styled in a frayed pixie cut that seemed to fade downward into a natural ginger. Her eyes were a pale blue that blended perfectly with the hyperlanes in front of her, Casting a soft blue glow on her smooth face. Unmarred by her violent profession. for now.

>Bweep woop?< M1-K1, Joti's
Astromech, chimes suddenly, Breaking the calming silence.

"Yeah, That'll do. Divert the power to forward deflector shields and prep the scanners."

>Brtt...<

"Because I said so, And because you spilled that coffee being a moody rust bucket" She laughs, Reaching down to pat M1's head and then retrieve her helmet, Sliding it over her head with a satisfying hiss, denoting the sudden pressurization.

HUD Update...

Location: Wildspace - Approaching Gemini

The ship drops out of hyperspace not far from the Gemini, And begins to orbit the husk-like vessel, Sending various scans for both lifesigns and electrical signals. If Joti was right, Than she'd gotten here first. And if not? Than she'd just have to move her schedule up a little. Nothing like a little competition right?

"Anything?"

>Weet woop.<

"Hm. The ice must be interfering. Find us a way in and stay with the ship, I shouldn't be too long."

M1 salutes her with one of his utility arms, followed by a few sarcastic beeps and whines as she leaves her seat, Grabbing her trusty HW-55, Leaving the flamer's hose detached for now, As she might need the extra fuel for her jetpack, should anything go awry in the vacuum of space.

Talon's ship had taken off, no new patrons had joined him. This surprised him for it was a high paying job. A couple ships had taken off with his for security purposes, but they were mostly there to watch what happened and send in a team as needed. The crew of the ship said that all airlocks were frozen over and needed to be opened from the inside, but first it needed power. Talon had to go through open space to figure out an entrance. The men suggested one of the massive windows on the bottom, once opened they would suck a lot of the inner materials, but down there was just the sleeping halls.

Spotting another ship Talon assumed it was just another security ship, seeing as Talon's group held their fire, they didn't appear hostile. Once in the back of the ship, Talon opened the airlock, being sucked out into space. His sealed suit could survive the environment, as he angled himself towards the Gemini. Firing boosters he neared, at a quick pace. Looking back he was on a different side then both groups. Putting a knife the the glass, he hammered away at the ice he could get off.

It was thick, but it also surprisingly radiated a bit of heat, feeling soft with each hit. Not like it was melting, but like it wasn't quite ice. After a bit of work he put the knife to the exposed glass, cutting a hole in it. Like he was told, many objects were sucked outside of the ship, glasses, and what looked like a skull, but Talon couldn't get a good enough look at it. Firing his grapple to the door at the end, he crawled up. Passing through the hole the Mandalorian felt dread all of the sudden. This surprised him for he expected the ship to be calm, but with flashing light of the sun, it felt like it was orbiting the planet a bit too quickly.

Talon turned on his light looking around, touching the door it felt like there was something on it, a substance the would mush under his fingers, with a red tint. The idea that it was part of the crew was outlandish, it would've taken hours to make a body feel like this and stick when being pulled by the vacuum of space. Finding the handle he opened the door, closing it behind him, he let the grapple remain, when needed he would use it for a quick escape. The suction was gone, and the ship was dark, pitch black even, looking around he continued forward.

She flicks a switch on the side of her helmet to deactivate one of her many waring systems flashing across her HUD.

"It looks like we have company... How many?" She sounds considered as she looks over her shoulder, Watching her M1 unit cycle through various scans
>Brrt... Weet woot bwoop?<

"That's... More than I feel comfortable handling right now. Let's hope they don't turn on us...

Bring us around back, Latch on and find me an entrance."
On command, The cabur class patrol ship adjusts course, Wrapping around suddenly and just barely hugging the hull where a thinner patch of ice, Indicating some sort of entrance.
ZrxC49R.jpg
Once in position, Joti takes a deep breath as the lights dim, only to begin flashing a deep red as the airlock is closed up and depressurized in preparation for her exit. Momentarily, There is complete silence as the airlock opens, pulling Joti forward for just a moment before her magno-grip boots lock her in place. After a few seconds of waiting for the vacuum to finish pulling air out, She unlocks her boots and her jetpack flickers to life, bathing the airlock in a warm orange glow before propelling her towards the ice-capped indent that she suspected to be a hanger entrance or something similar.

Once close enough, Her next move is to fling her wrist forward, Sending a golden glowing whipcord hurtling through space and into the ice, Latching itself firmly to the hull beneath this thinner layer.
Her boots suddenly crash against the ice. Now in place, she activates her rocket-boot thrusts(usually saved for emergency jetpack malfunctions), slowly melting away at the ice until she could touch the metal hull beneath and magnetize her feet to the hull.

>M1, comms are about to fail once I'm inside. If any of those ships bother you, Just focus and evade till I can call ya.<
Was it a good plan? Hell no. Was it all she could come up with right now? Hell yes. She had to wonder why so many seemed interested in this dead husk, But the pay was good and she needed it. Not much else to think about really.

Now latched to the hull, She draws her Omni-cutter and begins cutting away, slowly cutting a circle around herself and then stepping aside just before she finishes.
Right on time, The circular cutout is flung into space faster than she could have reacted had she actually stood on it. Once several pieces of debris, including a crate, some random parts and... Was that a bone? maybe a droid arm.

With her makeshift door now open, She crawls in and latches herself to the wall, Walking down and onto the correct floor whilst reeling in her wrist mounted whipcord.

It was dark. hella dark. And unfortunately, Her gear had been designed for long treks in the desert either by sun or moonlight. Her only light, M1, had stayed behind to watch the ship.
On the bright side, Her scan pulse system was sending back basic 3d feedback, giving her an idea of the environment she was in, Even if she couldn't see it in colour and was only getting feedback once ever 1.5 seconds, roughly.

After a few pings, She knew that she was in a cargo hold of sorts, and not a hanger like she had originally hoped. No matter, She'd dealt with worse. At least it was picking up a feint electrical signal. A door panel by the look of it, running on some sort of backup power source.

Once across the room and through the door however, All she can really see are hallways, or maintenance shafts of some kind.
One to her left, and one to her right. Based on memory, Going right would lead her towards the bridge, which seemed like a long journey but it was more likely to have the data she needed. In theory. But what about the left?
After spending a moment to think, She decided to head right. No point in exploring without cause, This place was giving her the creeps for some reason.
After shutting the door behind her, Halting the momentary vacuum, She turns right. With atmosphere available, She was picking up sound again. Mostly the occasional * Click clack * of her boots on the metal deck, or the Jingle of her loose rocket boots as she makes her way down the corridor, Carbine held at her hip and scanners working overtime.

"I got a bad feeling about this..."

Talon quietly walked past the coolant tanks, they like most of the ship were frozen over, the Mandalorian assumed that they were void and pointless. Before entering the mission he was told the backstory of this ship. A man was bent on creating the fastest form of space travel, all he wanted to do was make it instant. Seeing as how it took 20 years for a round trip Talon didn’t think it worked.

The fact it failed was surprising, once the ship were to show issues the men should’ve stopped it. Using a backup hyperdrive to return, but reading though the plans, he never saw one.Getting to a door, it was frozen over so Talon got to work trying to break the almost liquid ice. It came off with ease and prying the small blast door was a challenge, but it appeared the latch was broken, so after a while he managed to get it open.

Then he walked into a long hallway, his flashlight didn’t see the end of it. Looking around he watched as things floated past. Including glasses, some of that red stuff that was stuck to the walls, and other everyday objects. Continuing his walk he looked at a small boarding station, the door needed power to get open and peering inside, he thought he saw something. Pulling his knife out broke away at the ice on the glass peering in seeing nothing.

Shrugging he assumed the atmosphere was getting to him, it was creepy and he always felt like he was being watched. Reaching the otherside, Talon was surprised that the door was almost shot out in a direction. It was like an explosion had caused the door to bend outward. Upon further inspection inside he found no sign of one.

Walking inside he had continued the walk towards the bridge, stopping when he saw something out of the corner of his eye. He thought it was a shadow but turning it was gone. This one seemed to move more then the others on the edge of his vision. Quietly he walked to the bridge.

It seemed the ship had very little power left. Talon looking at a diagram showing that the backup power was completely charged. This surprised him, but seeing as no one had switched it over it couldn’t have been used. How efficient the power was, that would be a road he’d have to cross.

Wiping frost off the screen he was looking through the crew members, all of this a red dot saying inactive, and a dim flatline. When he got to the first page where the captain’s red dot should be, it wasn’t red. It was green with the words active next to it. Yet still a flat line. Looking around the room he got back to turning on the power. Assuming the data was just frozen in time. Turning on the power, everything flickered back to life. Walking to the window he turned and fell back as he saw what the red stuff was.

Power: Online
Joti gasps suddenly, Simultaneously aiming down corridor with her carbine and drawing her pistol with lightning speed, Aiming down the opposite end. She could have sworn that she'd seen something escape the light the moment it had come on... A lot of somethings, actually.

"...chit!"
She mutters to herself, Slowly letting her pistol lower till with was held at her hip, Not unlike the carbine.

With no other option left to her, She marches onward. One hand gripped tightly to her NN-14 blaster pistol, The other to her HW-55, Flicking the switch to change it's firing mode from burst rounds to the underbarrel Flame Thrower.

The trip from the cargo bay through the reactor rooms was mostly uneventful from here, As Joti had taken one of the largely empty maintenance shafts, Which led her to the main corridor soon after. Thankfully she didn't need her scan pulses to find her way now, And in fact she could see down the entire corridor leading up to the bridge. It was strange though, She couldn't shake the feeling that someone or something was watching her, But her HUD wasn't picking up anything.

Wait... Were those glasses floating this way?

She lifts her hand up and taps the glasses as they go by, sending them gently floating into the wall beside her.

With her momentary distraction now gently floating behind her, She smiles softly beneath her helmet, enjoying the low gravity antics until-

"Ad be besom!"
She exclaims under her breath as she turns her head, Catching sight of the scene ahead.

In front of her lay a series of goo and red paste along the walls, Mixed in with the occasional bone or personal item. Whatever happened here, It wasn't good. Joti had seen some chit since becoming a bounty hunter, Hell she'd cooked storm troopers alive even, But this? This was new. And it wasn't pretty.

Taking a deep breath, She turns her attention to the door ahead, Marching at such a brisk pace that she knew anyone on the other side of that door would here her rocket boots Jingle
once she got close. No matter. She'd just have to do this quick was all.

Once at the door, She takes cover beside it and stops for a second, Letting her Scan pulse do it's thing before making any hasty decisions. Sure enough, A single life form appears on her HUD, A bit like an orange holographic ghost. A silhouette fiddling with the control panel ahead.

Seeing as her rocket boots jingled so badly these days, That meant the man on the other side had likely heard her coming already, Meaning that she had lost the element of surprise already. Furthermore, With the ship being as old as it was and the crew being as dead as they were, This had to be someone from one of those ships her astromech had scanned earlier. Which also meant that this man was likely competition. He was just as liable to shoot her as this ship was to crumble beneath her right now. An unsettling thought to be sure...

Sigh
"Su cuy'gar?"

She eventually says in Mando'a, figuring that it was one of the easier languages to speak, regardless of what planet one comes from.

"I'm coming in... This place gives me the creeps and you're the first living thing I've scanned thus far, So..."
"How's about we exchange names or some chit and then I walk in without getting blasted in the face. We have a friendly chat and figure out what the kriffing hell happened here. Sound good?"

Who was she kidding? This was a bad idea. No it was was worse than just bad. It was in fact, Quite a horrible idea. But that was all she could come up with and she was sticking to it. And well, if whoever this is pulls anything, she knew she could probably eat a few shots before she really had to worry. Pros of beskar'gam, even if hers was a little light.

Talon eventually gotten up, after looking at the red paste on the walls. What had happened to the crew? The Mando had done some terrible things, but he had never destroyed a body enough that it stuck to the wall. Getting his things in order, he stood walking back over to the control panel. Hearing the jingle of boots his eyes landed on the green dot that said active next to it. Pulling his pistol he took a defensive spot.

Hearing the voice gave him much relief, knowing that the Captain had been male, the female was a good break to the tension. "Come in, I wouldn't mind the company, frankly, I hate this ship already." Looking through the logs he went to the final one, which had the time stamp the day of the test. "I'm trying to figure some things out, a second mind would be very useful. I am Talon."

Pulling up the log he suddenly stopped, if she had entered he didn't realize. He had taken a step back to lean against the wall after he finished the log. Putting a hand to his head he muttered, "What the hell have I gotten myself into."

(OOC: Do be warned this is footage from the film, its one of the parts that caused this movie to be R indefinitely. Quite a bit of gore, starts :30 to the end. Watch at your own discretion.)

Talon quietly stood there turning to the diagnostic station behind him in an attempt to forget what he had watched. He spoke no words for a while quietly concentrating on figuring out what he needed to do to get off this ship. At that time he was ready to leave, but he was getting paid to get the job done, and he would see it through.

"Life support systems are down, along with the gravity, the panels that are having electrical issues are in a series of vents. There is also a gas leak here, seeing how long the ship has been gone, I think a spark will take everything out." Talon would occasionally look back to see if the light on the Captain's status was still green, every time he looked, it remained.

Well, Hearing a friendly voice wasn't what she expected, But it was certainly welcome.

Phew... "Same man, same... Name's Joti. Joti Johayc" She expected some comments, seeing as her last name meant "Spoken".

She holsters her pistol, Giving one last look over her shoulder before entering, Clicking the panel to shut the door behind herself as she strolls in, Thankful to get out of the corridor finally. Though she can't help but freeze up for a moment, Catching sight of the red paste all around, which she sort of expected but didn't want to. And of course the Beskar'gam worn by this "Talon" character. It was a welcome sight in this hellish ghost ship, A familiar face if you will. Even if that "face" was the cold black sheen of a T-Visor.

Then he opened the control panel.

New feed located.
Downloading...
Downloading.
New Feed:

"Cark..."

The feed brought up on the control panel by talon begins playing across Joti's visor, Giving her a very up close and personal taste of the misery that had befallen the crew whenever this cured rust bucket had taken it's voyage.

She suddenly taps frantically at the buttons on the side of her helmet, Trying to shut it off as quickly as possible. Eventually the video, Which she hadn't even tried downloading, fades out, sending her vision back to normal. Her hand stays resting aside her helmet for a time, gently sliding away slowly as she groan slightly, Clearly disappointed and too distressed to entirely hide it right now.

"Life support systems are down, along with the gravity, the panels that are having electrical issues are in a series of vents. There is also a gas leak here, seeing how long the ship has been gone, I think a spark will take everything out.

"Uhm..." She flicks the switch on her multi-blaster, Shutting down the underbarrel flamethrower and turning it into a scatter blaster for the time being.

"Is it a bad time to tell you that I currently carry Three different flamethrowers on me...?"

She turns to Talon, Her expression masked by the strange bug-eyed helmet she wore. Though by the occasional but extended crackling sounds coming from her helm's vocal enhancer, It was obvious that she was breathing a little heavier than before.

"But... judging by that," She points towards the control panel that had played the video tape "I'm starting to wonder if we shouldn't blow this thing to hell when we leave..."

"Now what do you keep glancing at...?"
Looking at the control panel for herself this time, She sees the crew status windows displayed. Red. Flatline. Red. Flatline. Red. Flatline. Green...? Flatline...

"Well there's no way you're the captain... You're probably here to collect data for some bigshot company same as myself. You've also got a heartbeat I'd imagine, Unlike this poor shebs"

But why's he green...

"Can the data be removed intact without risking the ship-"

She turns her head and puts both hands on her carbine suddenly, Something having caught her eye, But... There was nothing there.
"Something's here. You come alone, Vod...?" She makes more of a statement than a question.

Talon quietly continued his diagnostic check as he listened. It appeared that to access the points, they would have to get into the vents. "In fact, I am not the Captain, you are correct in that assessment. If you must know, I am as well, getting paid for these, and so far I think I'm making more than offered." Looking at the hyperdrive's room, it appeared that it had been sealed until it was successfully evacuated from the gas, for that he needed the filters on, and for that he needed life support active.

"At least you told me now, and before you shot at something." Pulling up a map of the ship, he downloaded it to his HUD looking around it, spotting anything. "In fact, I came here alone, but I do not feel that I was alone. Either it's just me or the ship, but there is something here." Turning to the green dot, he tapped on the glass to try and get a reaction, but it remained.

"If you wish to accompany me, I shall be journeying to the ventilation system in an attempt to get the life support working. I need the back room open, and it's sealed at the moment." Unloading his pistol he placed the clip on the dash, while he didn't need to do that, he was really trying to see if it would remain once he had returned. He turned and shut off the panel, not wanting to see the green light anymore.

Quietly he made his way back down the main hallway, quietly looking around. The Mandalorian made sure to check inside the hatch that seemed to have something in it before. When he turned to see farther down the shaft, and turned to see if she had followed. His eyes landing on the hatch again. A face in it giving a quick grin, its eyes torn out and clawed all over. Falling back the Mando had his pistol raised, but when he lost sight of the glass during the fall, the thing had disappeared. Back on the bridge, out of view of Talon, the panel turned on, a green light by two new names. The two who had entered. Along side the Captain's the heart started back up.

Talon stood back up, looking around continuing his way towards the maintenance shaft, these gave access to the vents. Kicking off a grate he turned to see if his companion was there, nodding if she was, and if she wasn't he entered the shaft.

I gotta say I admire the scene for being something different, but still creeped me the hell out lol.

"Hm... Alright, I'm tagging along I guess. Two blasters are better than one and all that. But I want my fair share if things go sideways. I don't expect something for nothing though, I got your back if you got my front."

She gives the bridge one last look over her shoulder before following Talon out. She hadn't seen anyone in the hatch initially, And heard nothing. Nothing but the slight jingle with each step in her rocket boots, Something that she'd come to regret now as her temporary partner of sorts seemed to be doing things more quietly at the moment. Though, She may need them later, and thus they stayed on. She had her back turned to the hatch, Keeping an eye out, Watching the rear as she said she would.

Right around the time the green light came on back in the bridge, Something entirely different caught her eye, As if her shadow had moved independently of her own for a moment. Looking down, she could have sworn she'd raised her weapon at her own shadow, But in a flash, She finds herself still looking down the hall and pulling rear security, As if she'd blanked out and just been snapped out of it.

"Talon, Do you feel... A little off?" Too late. Talon had just jumped down the hatch.

Sighing, She turns to the hatch and gives Talon a moment to move before doing likewise, Trusting the low gravity to soften her fall.
Once below with Talon, She marches behind him and gives her surroundings a quick look over before turning, Sort of walking backwards at a slightly slower pace.
Once in position to guard the rear, She reaches up to the side of her helmet, pushing a series of buttons. With that, Her scan pulse activates, Sending blips of visual and statistical data throughout the environment and even through walls.
Among her scans, She also sends codes to Talon's HUD, which would be necessary to access one of her Commlink's many private channels.

"Vod, The codes are for my Commlink channel. I'm also Scan-pulsing our immediate surroundings. I can link the feedback to you HUD if you like... I'm assuming you've got your own assets? A map maybe? I figure since I'm sharing, I might as well ask yeah?"
She chuckles a little. She wanted out of this as fast as possible, And that meant cooperating with her competition. That did not mean she had to set her antics aside however. If she could get ahold of that map, She could plan a better route for herself and cut him off if the need arises. Say he decided to be less helpful than herself, or maybe splitting the profit started sounding less agreeable to him. Have to think about all the possibilities right? Or was that the ship talking?... Was she becoming like the people in the video? Is that what the ship does? Turn people against one another? She shakes her head, trying to shake the thought of.

"Damn this place gives me the creeps..."

"That shall not be necessary, though I do feel that splitting up would get us off quicker. I'm assuming by your earlier question you are experiencing the phenomenon I am. I can't wrap my head around it." Starting the way in, the shaft was surprisingly big, Talon fit his pack in as he started his crawl, and if needed there was enough room to change direction. "Life support systems are up ahead, while gravity is on the first right. I'll move to the life support, we will be within earshot of each other, if needed I'll keep comms open."

Going the way down the place shot green light along the walls. Talon had the prevailing idea that the visions could trap the person alone, if so, proximity wouldn't matter as much as eyesight. Talon quietly continued not looking back to see if she had moved to gravity. But the grav boots managed to give him enough to keep him to the ground. Talon quietly went around his corner, pulling the already loose panel off to reveal some pad.

He quietly worked, taking out the pad, pushing the slides that had been exposed back into place, unbending the already bent one. "You there?" Talon listened, to him there was no response. He muttered, "Why does this ship hate me." Unknowing if she could even hear him he said, "Wait until you're seeing the shit I am, then you'll truly hate this place."

Crawling back out of his isle, the green lights stopped reversed faster the usual getting ever faster until, the tunnel turned into darkness without the lights wizzing by. Turning back the way they hadn't gone he say a red cloak, "Captain?" Talon called out. While he started to back up he didn't expect a response, watching the back bend for the thing it was a man, fully intact. Each time the darkness surrounded the man, a tear would appear, until his body was the one of the Captain's.

Talon backed up faster, hitting his head into a low baring that shouldn't have been there. This became more evident as he turned seeing the vent got smaller and smaller. The man pulled up his arms bent all the way the way back and it ran towards him. Talon pulled his knife knowing it would be useless.

The thing got right to his face, saying in a raspy voice. "Open the door." With a blink Talon had returned to reality. Putting his hands on his helmet he held it there for a second, he considered taking it off, but knowing the gas filled the place, it would be suicide. "Are you there Joti?" his arms slumped to his sides waiting for a response. This was getting to be far more then he bargained for.

"Oh..."
Well she got what she wanted. She just didn't expect to split up just yet. But it was too late and it would make this go by faster.
Using her magno-grip boots, She walks up the wall and kicks in the grate and slides in, Being bathed in the same soft green light as Talon.
There was no chatter on her end, Whether it be the ship playing mind games with her or the comms being kriffy again, Was uncertain. The crawl through the vent seemed uneventful at first, Just the soft glow and... Red sludge...

"Well I found more of the crew..." She says through the commlink, which wasn't even active at the time.

Joti was forced to crawl through the sludge, Which forced itself into the gaps between her bracers and
flight suit, Which needless to say, didn't feel right, sloshing up against the fabric with every pull as she drags herself forward, Giving her a cold feeling through the fabric. She does her best to ignore it and finally reaches the end of the tunnel, Turning herself around just enough to kick in the grate, Which pops off and begins floating through the next room.
The moment she had finished kicking in the grate however, Everything goes dark suddenly...
A moment later, the lights come back and begin to flash faster and faster until suddenly turning red, Just like the figure she was now seeing coming down the tunnel at a rapid pace, Crawling like some kind of creature.

She shoves herself backwards, Falling out of the tunnel and into the gravity control room. Hitting the floor with a metallic thud, She lands on her back and immediately starts scooting herself backwards, Pulse scanning the room for a moment as she grabs the nearest object, pulling herself to her feet. Without warning, The object falls on her with a sickening squishing sound. It was another crew member. Or at least, what was left of one.
She quickly shoves the mangled body off and looks back up at the grate she'd come from. Nothing... And her scanner wasn't picking up anyone either.

"I'm going kriffing mad and I haven't even been here for long... What the hel-" Before she can even even finish her mutterings, She falls to the floor without warning.
Turning to see what had knocked her over, She comes face to face with a corpse like and red cloaked figure.

"Open the door."
With the clench of her fist and a low humming sound, The wall is bathed in a soft red glow as her knuckle-plate vibro blade activates, Pulsating the energized red along the edge. She swings hard at the Captain's face, Causing the image to dissipate as reality suddenly flashes into existence.

When she snaps out of it, She finds herself supporting her weight on a small level where she had initially grabbed the seemingly imaginary body, And where her vibro blade had cut through the image of the captain before, It was now stuck in a control panel, Causing the door outside to open, allowing Talon to enter if he wishes. More importantly, The gravity was back on, Which had seemingly dragged her to the wall, catching herself only thanks to the lever that activated it in the first place.

"Are you there Joti?"

>Yeah... Yeah I think I am. Door's open and... Gravity's back, if you hadn't noticed<
She laughs it off over the commlink as she stands back up, though anyone listening could tell that laugh was a lie, more fore herself than anyone else.

"Um... yes... thanks for the gravity." Talon came out of the maintenance shaft, coming to the outside of it, more miserable than when he went in. He stood there putting the grate back on. "Filters are in working order, I wish to go back to the bridge to wait for them to do their job, if that's alright with you. Once they've finished these seals should open." Whether she joined him or not, he started the journey back.

On the way back he didn't look at anything else, he wouldn't anything out of the corner of his eyes distract him. The reason he wanted to go back to the bridge was to see any changes to it and he wished to observe the ship through the cameras. All in all he just felt safer with less places he could lose vision of his companion..

Once he finished his journey, he had his comms on as he checked the computers to see if there were any changes. There were two more names to the roster which when selected said what he thought we did. "We're crew now, and the Captain has a heart beat. Frankly I would be shocked, but I think I'm figuring out this game." Pulling up the travel logs Talon scrolled through them, this ship had continued its documentation, throughout the journey. This seemed incorrect, for looking at the map charts it went showed a little travel, then it disappeared. Reappearing recently.

This is what Talon wished he needed to leave, but he needed the logs straight from the hyperdrive, for it would give exact location. "We have roughly thirty minutes, we may as well learn about each other. What brings you to this hell hole, Vode." While he may as well learn more about this fellow Mandalorian, he didn't know if it mattered, for there was always the lingering thought that neither would make it off.

Walking to the window he looked outside the cross shaped glass, he was surprised to see nothing. No stars, no light, no ships, but he assumed this was just another illusion. Quietly walking around the bridge, he focused on a blinking light on one of the panels. Tapping on the screen it showed an image of the engine, it was a massive machine that seemed to be forever rotating. Quietly he muttered, "What door?"

1*FzV1sJ-NAeU1jXrOhw74eA.gif

Standing there he turned, the filters almost done. Going for the clip he had placed on the control panel. It was missing from its spot him pulling one out of his belt loading it into his weapon. "If you wish you may use your flamethrower, personally, I'm ready to get the information and watch this place burn." A little grin had formed under the mask.

Turning to the exit the Mandalorian took a breathe and continued to where, he assumed, it all begun.

OOC: If your character asks about how Talon ended up here, I'll write it in the next post

"Yeah... I kinda want out of this room. The bridge feels... Safer." She grunts as she rips her knuckle blade out of the wall, Retracting it back into her knuckle-plate as she steps out, Following Talon.

On their way back, Something seems off to Joti. They were going the right way, But the corridor looked different the further they went. At the end of the corridor, The door to the bridge had been replaced by a set of huge blast doors that opened very slowly as they came near.
Once inside, She freezes, Staring at the huge, circular engine. A thing of pure malice, with spiked rings orbiting a dark obsidian orb.

She already hated it. Suddenly, Talon turns, Pistol drawn and already fired. She looks down slowly, Seeing a burning hole through her breastplate, through her body even.

...
"Why...?

Looking back up at him however, No shot had been fired, And she was back in the bridge now. Ahem "Sorry, Something came up on my HUD."

She continues into the bridge, pretending nothing had ever happened. Though she couldn't help but wonder; What were these hallucinations? Some of it seemed oddly real, and too specific to be her own mind. And that last one, What could it be? The future? Or perhaps intent made manifest...

"We have roughly thirty minutes, we may as well learn about each other. What brings you to this hell hole, Vode."

"If you wish you may use your flamethrower, personally, I'm ready to get the information and watch this place burn."

"Hm? Oh,"
She Turns over her bracers, checking to see if anything had been damaged. With everything in working order, She follows Talon out into the corridor, Occasionally looking over her shoulder, But less and less frequently as they press forward, Beginning to march with more determination, Ready to see this all end. "Flamer's look good. Anyway, I'm just here to make some creds and book it, Same as yourself. You know how it is, After the fall of mandalore, I don't really have anywhere to go. Clan fell long before mandalore..."

"Hoping to get a better ship soon, Or maybe use the funds in a little information game. Bribe a few people, find some clans hanging around still. We vod are solitary creatures, sure, but we hunt in packs... Just ain't right playing the game as a lone wolf, Ya know?"

There is a short pause as she looks over her shoulder one last time, Beginning to feel a presence once more. Seeing nothing however, She shakes her head and focuses on their conversation, Trying to distract herself with their little chat, Which was a welcome change.

"And how about you? You have a clan waiting for you? A girl maybe? Or maybe you're more the wandering type, I can respect that. You've got the look of a fellow bounty hunter, or a merc at the very least. Probably gonna spend it all on new gear right?" She chuckles.

"Filters clear." starting his walk he addressed her question about him. "I don't have a clan or girl waiting for me anymore. Though you are correct, I am a bounty hunter, and with the money I'm going to use my pay to continue the hunt for someone who has wronged."

Talon had reached the main hallway and continued the way down, during it he had his pistol pulled. Walking up to the controls for the blast door, he looked at the door for a second, shaking his head he pushed the button the doors slowly opening. A shadow disappeared at the end of the hall. Talon continuing through looking around it.

It was dark and motionless, it looked like it would move rotating throughout the chamber, but it was still. Lights were scattered along the bottom giving enough, light to shine through the entire passage. At the end the rotating engine could be seen, the lights rotating on one of the rings around it.

Quietly walking through the call, the face of the Captain with a grinning face appearing in the holes. Talon quietly walked into the room a pool of black liquid on the ground. Walking down the small steps Talon put his finger in the liquid to see what it was. It was odd even under his space-sealed suit, his finger was wet.

Standing up he walked towards the controls. "Your choice you turn it on, or I can." With the answer he had his pistol pulled out none the less. When one of the Mandalorians turned it on, the hallway started to spin and the hyperdrive turning toward the entrance. Talon backed up closer to the hallway his pistol leveled with the machine.

"Mm... Same, to be honest. I had someone special for a little, but we go about life too differently. And my clan, well... So who's unlucky shebs are you after anyway?"

"It's You"
She turns suddenly, Having heard what she thought was Talon, But there was no one there. Talon had already passed her silently, Bending down to touch... something. What was he touching? There was nothing there, As far as she could tell.

"Your choice you turn it on, or I can."

"I'll get it" She carefully approaches the control panel, Tapping the button and entering the room slowly with her multi-blaster aimed forward, held at her hip. The spinning hall and the spiked hyperdrive room looked downright evil from here, As if they were descending into some kind of man made hell. Talon backing up with his pistol leveled at the thing didn't exactly bode well either...

"Hold up vode... I don't like the idea of whatever might happen if that thing goes off, Best point elsewhere yeah?"
She was starting to get anxious. She had to get that data before she leaves. She needed to get out of here before that red cloaked thing came back, And she needed to get that money when this was all over. If that meant she had to something drastic... So be it.

"Talon," She began. Where as he was stepping back, She takes a deep breath and marches forward.

"This helmet of mine, It it's it's weird shape from Ubesian culture. From my old partner. He was a good guy deep down, once you got to know him. It got him killed too..."

"Just before he died, He made me make him a promise;
That I wouldn't be like him"

On her way through the door, Her glowing knuckle-plate knife extends suddenly as she swings at the control panel, Sending a flash of sparks everywhere just before the blast door shuts behind her. Talon could still hear her through the commlink as she approaches the control panel, Pulling a small cord from her bracer and plugging it in.

"I never liked the thought. He was my best friend and a man I looked up to. But, Even if I don't want to admit it, He was right.
Sometimes, You can't afford to help people if you ain't getting something for it."

"I'm sorry, Talon."

Talon watched as the doors closed in front of him. Slamming on the door, "Good damnit Vode." Moving to the controls to hot-wire them. Smashing the covering off, it was just a skull with a wall of flesh laughing. The lights began to flicker in the hallway, as Talon ran through the hall. Seeing a man at the end, he pulled his pistol shooting at it. Turning to look back at the door, the hallway was following him.

Running to the Maintenance vent he pulled the covering off the figure still sitting there at the end of the hall. It was a shadow of a man. Standing there leaning his head back saying, "You will be like her, all alone, and screwed straight to hell. Though, you may live long enough to be in hell."

With this Talon as he moving down the vent, looking at where he had fixed the life support control. If the map was correct the detonator he tossed down the hall would blow a hole into the room. Talon had three detonators just incase. When the one rolled back down the hall, he muttered, "Shit." Using his foot he kicked it the way he came it exploding revealing more of the hall.

In the hall, there was another one from the footage at the end making his way in. Talon continued down the hall tossing more detonators. down the halls toward the generator. One blew a hole into it while the other was thrown back at Talon blowing up in front of him. Talon took down the hall uninjured from the proximity.

At the end of the hall Talon put his head out of the hatch to watch a body strung between two spikes.

(Gore warning, just doing this because it's required by the site.)

Kicking it down he pulled himself out of the hallway trying to take in the image that was in front of him.

She groans as Talon slams against the blast door. She knew this was wrong. She knew that she could live off the money she had from her last job. She knew that Talon's quest was personal. Necessary. And she knew that the only thing motivating her right now was greed, Plain and simple.

Suddenly she hears an explosion down the hall outside, Immediately snapping towards the sound with her carbine raised.

"Damnit vod, Don't do it... You're liable to get sucked out if you're not careful..."

Suddenly everything goes dark, Causing her to look frantically around the room until she was fully turned around, Seeing only experimental hyperdrive, And a figure stepping out of it.

"Hello Joti. It's been a long time"
Before her stood what appeared to be an Ubese male, Wearing the signature breath mask and a cape that looked identical to the one joti wore. It continued to walk slowly towards her, Speaking in a calm voice.

"I've been waiting for you. For so long..."

"Vash?!"

Joti exclaims, Clearly delusional no thanks to the ship, Though her senses weren't as dull as it might have hoped.

"No, No I saw you die! This can't be real... You can't be real"

"Is that so? It takes more than the vacuum to kill me, My darling Joti. You of all people should know that."

"But... How? We saw you freeze! I saw you flatline on my HUD!"

"You saw me flatline here too, Didn't you? And yet, Here I am..."

"You're... The captain?"

"Yessss"
Having gotten close enough, The figure suddenly grabs Joti by the throat, Leaning in closer as his cape turns to a bright crimson and the mask seemingly burns to ash in front of her, Revealing a Scarred and hateful figure that looked nothing like her dear Vash. Instinctively, She grabs the captain by the face and ignites her wrist mounted flamer, Burning him and his many disguises away. Even now, He simply looked at her with disappointment.
LOHB.gif

With visible weapons at the moment, And Talon seemingly making progress outside, He decides that choking Joti simply isn't fast enough. Instead, He brings his arm back, Dragging her with him and lifting her up off her feet, Giving her one last up close and personal look, Watching his grotesque image and flaming features reflect and dance across her visor.

"You will die here. Afraid. Alone. With nobody to blame but you and your own greed."
Joti is then hurled through the air, Aimed in away that her armour's soft abdomen would likely be pierced by one of the many spikes against the walls.

"Gaggh-"
She hits the large spike with a sickening squishing sound. And yet, instead of simply being impaled on the tip she falls to the floor, Hitting the deck with a loud metallic thud right as the final explosion blows a hole through the wall not far from her. If anyone was to check, Her flak vest was made of VT-Kinetic gel, which could take even large calibre slugs from sniper rifles and only break a segment of the gel, but leave the wearer with bruises at most. The vest's outer cover and gel had been broken of course, leaving a large hole that exposed the gray flight suit at the small of her back, Though she may have broken a rib.

"Mmmh!" She groans as she comes to with the help of the explosion and her HUD notifactions.

Talon pushed himself off the spike as he saw Joti up against a spike. Hopping down he pulled a knife quickly moving towards the Captain, bringing his knife down onto him. The elbow came up blocking his knife at the wrist. Pulling his pistol the Mandalorian had that moved pushed to the side as he fired.

The shots went wide as the weapon became empty. Pulling his hand back Talon went for a punch but the Captain, but got headbutt, even though Talon had a helmet on, he stumbled back from the vibration. Getting put to the ground with one kick to the knee the Mandalorian struggled to get back up quickly.

Just then he felt a hand on the back of his helmet. The Captain had a tight grip smashing the helmet and Talon's head onto the metal ground many times with great power. As Talon's helmet was hitting the cold floor his visor started to crack and blood the concussion the Mandalorian was getting worse with each blow. Eventually the Captain had stopped pulling Talon's head up to look at the man's grinning face. "Gotta hold onto you for later."

The Captain had then picked up the Mandalorian by the shoulder guards, pushing Talon's armor up against one of the metal spikes. It sounded like glass cracking slowly as a hole was punched through the back of his armor and his chest. It came out the front chestplate a hole going through the Mandalorian.

Talon was on a spike where his feet still touched the ground, and with the pain his detonator fell out of his hand. The Captain grinned pushing Talon further back onto the spike putting the detonator on a spike out of the Mandalorian's reach, its red light blinking. The Captain started to walk out, picking up the pistol on the way out loading the magazine Talon lost into it. Grabbing onto the spike the Mandalorian couldn't get a grip with his pain, if he had the blood to think he would be thankful for being alive and that the spike hit nothing vital, but he would also realize that he was being brought somewhere and won't be able fight back to the torture.

Looking up blood dripping from his helmet he started to see the bodies of part of the last crew.

Joti watches in horror from the ground as Talon is brutalized in front of her, Concussed and then impaled on a spike. She dare not move, Nor make a sound. She just waits, Watching the detonator being flung away and then the captain walking out. The second the captain leaves, She turns on her side, straining her broken rib.

A soft yellow glow bathes the space between her and Talon as she flings her energized whipcord. "Nyaaagh!" Causing her broken rib to strain further. Sticking it to the thermal detonator before using all the strength she could muster to throw thing a safe distance away before it explodes violently, Showering her armour with shrapnel that either bounces away harmlessly or embeds itself in the armour.

With the Detonator disposed of, She forces herself to her feet, Holding her side as she runs to the reactor, Taking a pair of Timed Thermal Detonators and a Thermal Imploder from her belt and placing them on the drive before running to Talon.

"At least one of us is getting out alive, And that person will have the data. Either way, We are Both leaving right now! And we're sending this kriffing thing to hell On our terms!"

Joti was no medic, But Talon's injuries looked bad from here. Nevertheless, For whatever reason, She couldn't bring herself to leave him there like that. Not a Vod. So, She stands beside him, Carefully wrapping one arm around him just under his in order to support his Weight, And made ready to move him. Issue being that he was larger than herself, So she would need some assistance. Thankfully, Her jet pack would do just the trick, And had received minimal damage.

"If you can hear me... Hold tight"
Once more, She flings her hand forward, Sending the golden glowing whipcord hurtling through the air and sticking to the wall in the hallway just across from the. The angle was tight, But she could manage. Giving one good tug to determine whether it was secure or not, She makes her play then and there. Her Jetpack roars to life as she throws her weight forward, Sending her flying through the air low to the ground, Hanging on to Talon as best as she could.
Turning her uninjured side face down, She shoots through the doorway and into the hall, Slamming her back against the durasteel wall. Thankfully it seemed like the captain had already gone further down, Likely having just entered the reactor rooms beyond, Or so she hoped.

"My ship- agh- Is just outside the cargo bay on the first right,"
She says while lifting Talon up as best as she could manage, beginning the brisk but worrisomely slow walk towards the cargo bay.
