Description

When aspiring to better the future, one must first look to the past.

This was the mantra uttered by the engineers of Stargo Defense Enterprises whilst they conceived their new line of militant spacecraft. Research was conducted in order to better understand the stratagem of notable, political powers; and to ascertain how to improve upon their legacy. In particular, the corporation glimpsed into the war-torn era of the First Galactic Empire and examined the strengths and weaknesses displayed by both sides. Then the engineering teams drafted the first in a new line of starfighters; poised to epitomize the strengths of the past whilst addressing the more grievous weaknesses.

Thus, the SD/FI-01 Warden Interceptor was born.

At a glance, the Warden appears to be of comparable aesthetic to the famed TIE fighters of old. This design choice was intentional, for it invokes the same "strength" epitomized by the First Galactic Empire. Appearance aside, the vessel is an Interceptor by role; and as such was built with swiftness in mind. To this end, the choice material in its construction was an ultralight alloy known as Desh-Terenthium. While, when compared Durasteel, the metal is not the most durable; but it is vastly lighter and cheaper than the competition. Through this, the resulting vessel enjoys a lighter weight and higher speed than comparable craft.

On another note, one of the more "special" features of the craft is it's variable wings. Essentially, due to the concentration of the Warden's systems and weapons about the central cockpit, the craft's wings were designed with the capacity to fold up against the vessel's core. Through this, Warden Interceptors are capable of being stored upon racks; thereby affording capital ships a small sum of breathing room in terms of hangar space.

In terms of combat capabilities, the SD/FI-01 is primarily armed with a repeating laser cannon. Alongside this is a concussion missile launcher with homing capabilities. Together, these weapons allow the Warden to effectively chase and mow down enemy starfighters. Furthermore, in a pinch, a Warden can commit its missiles to aiding capital ship assaults. However, despite the Warden's speed and combat capabilities, the vessel is not without its drawbacks. First and foremost among these revolves around the metal selected in its construction. While Desh-Terenthium is indeed ultralight, it is also less durable than the average materials. As such, in the event of shield droppage, a Warden would not last as long as the average starfighter. Furthermore, due to the aforementioned concentration of armaments and systems about the cockpit, targeting the core of the ship has a larger possibility of crippling it entirely.

All in all, the SD/FI-01 Warden Interceptor is a starfighter more than capable of successfully fulfilling its role. Born from the strengths of the past, it is poised to assist nations of the present in their goals of Galactic dominance.

It's a bit complicated, as far as that is concerned, but I suggest simply sending [member="Jared Ovmar"] a PM. It has to do with patents and such (or something along those lines).

If it's a matter of IC patents, then I'm sure Mr. Ovmar can pursue legal (or military) action in response to this submission. However, if that is truly not an option then I am perfectly fine with the submission being denied on the basis of aesthetic.
