Healer's Guild. Ybinantru had heard rumors of the thing being floated around through her connections in the medical community. She, of course, had no direct ties to any one hospital or even planet, preferring to volunteer her time from place to place, increasing her skills and earning more unneeded credits. Certainly she didn't need the money; mother and father had made sure she was set up for life before they essentially disowned her for turning her back on the family enterprises of big business and espionage, and after all the work they'd put into her too.

Yb shifted the weight of one of her bags from one hand to the other. It was the one from Lindendye's, the lingerie boutique, where one had to book a reservation three weeks in advance just to come in and try something on. In her other hand was a much heavier bag that contained a box, which in turn contained a heavy wooden stand containing a hologlobe that would project the current galactic political map; not only what factions controlled what planets, but also who, if known was responsible for each, proving that even though she might no longer be welcome in the gardens of Sarvchi, the apple didn't fall too far from the trees therein.

Time enough to drop my bags in my room before deciding where to go for dinner, she decided, and found a lift that would take her to the 243rd floor of the hotel, where her suite awaited her.

Just as the doors had begun to close a hand shot through, causing them to open again.

It was extremely dangerous for her to be on Coruscant, with so many of the Sith now calling this place home after not one, but two rebuilding projects. The only advantage she had was the Dark Side coursing through her, and she hoped that would be enough to deter them from asking her questions; believing that she was one of them. She certainly didn't the dress the part of a Force user, unless of course she was engaged in war then she had a full outfit for that sole purpose. But she was leaving nothing to chance, staying away from others and ignoring any citizen who tried to engage her in conversation. It could be perceived by others that she was snobby, stuck up, or simply thought she was better than anyone else. In fact, she believed she was better than anyone else.

She stepped off the turbotram into an even more crowded area, filled with various species represented throughout the galaxy. She slowly lowered her head and plowed forward brushing shoulders with others; ignoring their rude remarks and drawing glancing looks of anger. Once her destination was in sight, she quickened her pace only to be stopped by a male asking her directions to something she had no clue. She tried to explain to the man that she couldn't help him and tried desperately to get away, only to feel his left hand clamp down on her right arm as she tried to leave. She didn't have time for this. With a small gesture from her left hand, she persuaded him to seek help elsewhere. As the man walked away slightly confused as to what just transpired, she briefly glanced around to make sure no one saw her hand movement.

She entered the hotel and at once spied a nearby turbolift. She jogged to it and thrust her hand inside to halt the doors from closing. The doors parted allowing her access. She was looking over her shoulder when she stepped in and when she swung her head forward, she found she was not alone.

Ybinantru took a step back as the young woman got into the left car with her; since the girl wasn't looking where she was going, moving aside seemed the safest bet.

The doors slid shut and the lift began it's rapid ascent when Yb noticed the other passenger hadn't pushed a button yet.

"Everything okay?" she asked. "Are you going to 243 too? You didn't select a floor."

She looked at the panel on the right side of the elevator briefly before returning her eyes to the other passenger. "243. Yes. Yes I am. And everything is fine. Thank you." She pressed the 243 button, sending the turbolift upward. She didn't want to get involved in a conversation with this woman but she could feel the tension radiating off her. "Do you live here on Coruscant or just visiting? Me, I only visit this place." Which was a half truth. She rarely visited Coruscant, preferring to avoid it like a plague. But she kept that to herself, no sense opening herself up to questions from the woman.

Was this a mistake to come here? Her mind was having an inner conflict with itself, one half arguing to stay the course while the other half argued they should abandon this project and flee this planet at once. When the woman failed to answer, she shot the other passenger a small smile. Maybe fleeing was the right choice. When the doors open, she would make an excuse an take the turbolift down. She briefly used the Force to calm her nerves, which was a hard task for her to achieve, with so much of the Dark Side inside her. Luckily for her, she had learned a technique to use the Dark Side to calm her nerves, but the dark energy always rebelled.

Yb shook her head. "Vacation," she replied, choosing not to go into the part about following up leads on the possible Healer's Guild. "Shopping, night life, that sort of thing. Just a couple of days. Upper levels only, of course." It hardly needed to be said that the Chiss wouldn't be caught dead anywhere near Lower Coruscant.

The woman seemed excessively amped up to the medically trained Ybinantru, but she chose not to say anything. For all she knew, the girl with the red eyes was an athlete heading back to her room after working out, or was high on some drug, or had just come from a private rendezvous.

The lift slowed rapidly and Yb stiffened her legs a bit as the momentum seemed to push her downwards. With a ping the doors opened on the 243rd floor, and the Chiss girl moved past the other, bags in hand.

She waited a few seconds longer after the girl departed the turbolift before exiting herself, turning in the opposite direction. Somewhere on this floor was a room she needed to find quickly, and once inside that room; seek out her target. She eyed the numbers on the doors while she passed them, hoping she wouldn't have to search long; and she didn't. The last room on the right held the magickal number for her. Looking down the hallway to make sure she was alone, she pulled out her slicer kit and immediately went to work on hacking the computer panel on the side. A few beeps and a one time green flash on the small device in her hand, and she was in.

At once she sensed something was wrong, better worded, she couldn't sense nothing when she entered the room. She turned her head to look at the three doors in the room trying to gauge anything through the Force, and still nothing. She knew she should abandon this contract but she owed it to her friend who desperately needed the credits. So against her better judgment, she went to work. According the holomessage she read, and eventually destroyed, the door she was seeking would be on her left, and inside was the computer terminal with the downloadable content. She opened the door and stopped. Lying on the floor, dead, was the man that hired her for the job. Then at once she realized why she couldn't feel anything. Force scrambler. These devices were usually employed by bounty hunters and she knew she still had a couple of active contracts on her. Damn it!

As she spun around, the other two doors opened up and out stepped two bounty hunters, their blaster pistols drawn. She didn't know if this was a kill contract and she was not going to stand there and wait. In a flash, her lightsaber was in her hand, the yellow blade humming to life and she attacked with blind fury. Both hunter's bodies dropped quickly and as she returned the hilt to her waist, she felt a burning sensation on her left side followed by pain. A quick investigation revealed a wound from a blaster shot. She couldn't recall if one of the dead hunters got a shot off in time, but it was apparent they had.

She stumbled into the hallway, fighting the growing sense of passing out. After four steps she collapsed; and everything went black.

Ybinantru heard the scuffling in the room next door, and though she knew it was none of her business, she walked closer to the wall adjacent, listening as she considered calling hotel security. This type of lowlife trash shouldn't be allowed in places like this, she fumed. Disturbances were something for cheap hotels, not posh spots like the Starfare.

Then she heard the unmistakable sound of blaster fire and a low humming sound, followed by silence. The hotel prided itself on privacy for its guests, so the carpets were plush, the walls thick, and the doors electronic and quiet.

The Chiss girl opened her door just enough to look out into the hallway, only to spot the red-eyed girl from the elevator collapsed on the floor. With a gasp, Yb moved into the hall, keeping the toes of one foot within the sensor to keep her door from shutting as she grabbed the other woman under her armpits and dragged her into her room.

"Hey! Hey, c'mon! What happened?" she asked, finally getting the injured girl across the threshold. "Can you hear me?" Moving to the front and crouching down, Yb took a quick inventory of the girl and saw the charred clothing on the left side and the raw, burned flesh beneath. Yb blew out loudly through a wrinkled nose. "They got you. Can you hear me? Do you remember your name?"
